not a fan of Bambi at first listen, the country square dancing jive I'm getting from it isn't my thing. But I like Melting :)

Dejavu cover CD+2DVDs HQ: (I didn't see this here)

don't kill me guys for what I'm going to say.... but kuu is starting to dissapoint me. I mean, those looks she appears in all tv shows, are very classy, it's like if she wants to keep that image in tv (no more long hair, no more sexy outfits, no more sexy dance moves...) and I'm kind of scary that "the new koda" is what we can saw in the panasonic 3D studio, billboard live, DMP presentation.... I hate that classy-kuu wearing that hair, that dresses and just claming the crow to clap their hands while she is going right and left to the stage...

This first, and second, after lollipop, pop diva, the fishbowls, GTBR, universe tour... I was expecting a sexy album, and the first we get are: Hey baby!, Bambi, and Melting. Seriously, three cute songs?? And then, the 2011 tour is going to be in small places.... Bah...!

I don't know if all of this is good or bad, I only thing that the most things I love from that woman are her sexy image, her hot songs, her amazing stadium performances... and it seems that she wants to put all of this out of her career with the new decade that starts with Dejavu.

Sorry I'm worried, anyway I'll wait for Dejavu and then judge properly

Bad Wolf 27th January 2011 03:42 PM

^ Well I think Kuu's been moving away from her predominately sexy image for years now. Kingdom is really where I personally noticed a shift, but Trick and UNIVERSE were pretty telling as well, in terms of how a chunk of the latter had cute, fun songs packed into the first half of the album.

I think it's natural to be concerned about the image shift, but it's also important to remember that we're only watching the shifts in the progress, and not the "after" stage. We don't see how she'll turn up, you know? We just see the stages in between, and it's making us concerned (some of us~). This is how I get with Ayu sometimes (there, a valid comparison lol) who prizes herself on changing every few years. It's natural to be concerned, but don't lose faith and have hope that what made you love Kuu at the start will hold out and will always be there, no matter what.

I agree in that I'm going to wait until Dejavu is out until I judge properly, but I do weigh what people in here are saying -- and it just seems like we all have such conflicting varied tastes, haha.

I kinda get what you mean, I love ero-kakkoii Kuu the best. But, I think that Lollipop and Pop Diva are sexy songs. She is older than she was when she was doing ero-kakkoii, so I think maybe the idea of a 25+ woman doing the things she did back in her ero days is not appealing to some people, and perhaps she agrees?

Taking gyaru for example, when they reach a certain age, they "graduate" from one style to another. And by 30 they may keep their love of much more fashionable brands, but it is a far cry from the gals they used to be. I think that is the kind of mindset people in Japan. When you get to a certain age you have to stop being crazy and grow up (not that Kuu is being crazy or immature, I'm just saying). She is going to have to change styles to accommodate, not only her age but her fans age too. Keep in mind all those girls who wore ero-kakkoii back in the day are in the "graduation" mind set now too.

And for the tour, I think its small scale because she did a lot of extra tours this year, so I think she just wants to be less stressed.

Kaiouforever 27th January 2011 03:53 PM

Ah! Pop diva is so epic! She looks AMAZING in the video and the song is very catchy.

freedreamer 27th January 2011 04:57 PM

Actually, Kuu is one artiste among the oens i love that makes the most amount of those pop, cute songs. I mean...it's been like that since Secret or earlier already. Im already expecting them to come out. FREAKY (single) had so many of them too. Most of her b-sides are midtempo or cute songs. It's really not something new. I wont deny that some are really nice. What attracts me are still her powerful dance tracks and that charisma

Corvina 27th January 2011 05:10 PM

Kuu using the cute and fun songs to promote the album is pretty smart if you ask me, cause most japanese people love those. Plus we already know sexy songs and ballads from the singles. Do you really think there will be so much more cute ones on the album? I don't, those 3 are probably the only ones or just 1 one more.
She always had all genres in her career, cute, sexy, hot, fun etc. That never changed.
And I doubt it'll so fast.

About the small venues... Firs things totally was ero-kakkoii, so let's wait how this year will turn out.

You're not going to be crucified for your opinion. People grow tired of artists, especially Japanese ones who change style "too much" or don't change "enough" (being here, I've seen the Ayu fans since 2006/7 go from being hardcore stans to hating her a mere year later so it seems especially relevant in the jpop fandom)

I personally like the way she is now and I'm one who has been following her for a really long time. I've gotten to experience the style changes and I want her to continue doing things the KODA KUMI way. If she were doing ero-kakkoii all the time she would not fair too well in the market, anyway, and that only seems to be what some of the foreign fans want. She is approaching her 30s, she does music that makes her happy and that the japanese public likes. It's not like she's a total nun now, she just doesn't focus most of her style and image on ero-kakkoii.

Ah ok lol. Pop Diva feels like it has more to it.

The video is cool I would love to have a library like the one Kuu goes to:yes

Picaflor 7/4 27th January 2011 06:12 PM

Pop diva is the instrumental of G6 with the melody of Shots. lol

Listen to the chorus.

Yeah I've been noticing that too. Especially for Universe is where she really started to tone down the sexy since there was still sexy for both Kingdom and Trick. Like I thought POP DIVA pv would be like that somewhat more mature sexy thing she did in the Taboo PV but it wasn't. I mean I can see where the change is coming from, she is almost 30 and she probably wants to progress to a more age appropriate image. I mean think about if she never changed her image, she would be 50 years old still trying to rock ero-kakkoii in a not so ero-kakkoii appropriate body. Although I would prefer she stayed 20 years old forever with ero-kakkoii in full force, I think its a good think that she is progressing to an image more appropriate for her age and not still trying to rock a sexy image way past her prime like Madonna. She can still be sexy even though she's getting older, she just won't put all good on the table if you get what I'm sayin'.

omg while she's no where as old as Madonna, I would totally stop being a kuustan if she was Madonna's age and did some of the stuff Madonna did.

I feel sorry for the people who are really going to freak out when Kuu gets married and has a baby. Wait til you see her style/image then. :lech

Picaflor 7/4 27th January 2011 06:18 PM

madonna is a real *** hag. lol 50+ years old, still dressing sexy with hot 20 year old back up dancer guys. ugh

Aww, I would love to see her marrying and havin a baby. I'd be so happy for her, she could wear selfknitted dresses out of her curtains, LOL.
Maybe it isn't good to be emotional bound to a artist like that, but it is a pleasure most of the time.

Evolving is a part of human nature. Of course your age and experiences has impact on what you are. Kuu still has ero-kakkoii features, just not as her main image anymore.
I personally like it better now, cause the current sexyness seems more natural, more "Kuu".
Nobody has to be sorry for thinking different, everybody freaks out soometimes overe their favourite artists.
