divorce/homosexuality/the "different"/ westerns marring their women (thats something I never thought of till someone pointed it out for me)

Its so strange, because they like, idolize half-Japanese girls for their exotic looks. There is a pretty big market for yaoi, which is homosexual manga.

TeamAyu2004 25th March 2012 03:18 AM

^ yeah... i think there is a difference between fantasy and the real.

about the homosexual stuff the way i was explained to it by a Japanese friend was that its cool to try and experiment (like the jokes with westerns and their "college" experiences) but its something that they are suppose to grow out of, if they don't thats when it is frowned upon.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 25th March 2012 03:20 AM

^^That's utterly ridiculous. Anyway, we should get back on topic.

I guess it's not the end of the world that the album will be #2. Not like it's the first time...it's just disappointing because I think it could have done much better had it been promoted properly.

For me, I always saw it as, they like to play around, but at the end of the day, you have a specific role, and if you don't fill it, you're out.

So it's like...like Hard Gay. Dress up and dance around and be a funny gay guy all you like...but make sure you get married and have children and fill your gender role lol

Like Ayu...she should have...had her career, and then married some respectable Japanese man, and toned her career down, had kids, and then just made appearances every now and then. You know, the right way :laugh

Anyways, I didn't expect her sales to quite cut by 50% just yet...I thought maybe they'd at least stabilize in the 10,000s for at least two days..lets see what the weekend brings.

TeamAyu2004 25th March 2012 03:25 AM

^ I think you explained it better! :D

But I was shocked to see her sales drop like that... I thought they would stay around the 10-15 mark for the rest of the week... I don't think she will sell 100k, wish she would, lord hope she does, but sadly...
No. lol

Oh well, she's still the queen to me and if Matsuda Seiko is still around, we have nothing to worry about

I know it :yes. Sorry I wasn't meant to say you were generalize like that.

About the yaoi stuff.. I'll going completely off topic but long short story: the yaoi concept it's totally based on handsome boys who loves each other for pleasing female otakus lol. So yeah it's kinda tricky.

/off topic

Actually, the way you put it reminds me of how one of my Japanese friends once said "as long as they get married and have kids, fulfilling their duties to society, you can do whatever you want in your spare time.", which I assume means being gay. When I lived on the Yokohama base, the guy who ran the convenience store started out like a typical guy, but the more he worked there and was exposed to American culture, the more of a flamer he became. I think people like Ayu and Kuu are helping in that respect, that gay people can be who they want to, freely. ABC, the #1 spot, even had a heavy homosexual theme in one of their music videos.

*sigh* I wish both Ayu and ABC could get #1. Both deserve it, for being so inspirational.

I'm always in a fix everytime my fandoms clash with each other on a frequent basis because on paper , only 1 of them can be #1 which's frustating >_<

On the other hand , omg , please don't make me go & watch ABC's Chou now :lmfao :roflmao . I literally had to take a step back when I saw the short PV preview for it xD

Black Cherry was 1 thing but Chou is :innocent

thank you. It's not just ayu. look at meisa kuroki's situation. and all the controversy kumi got over that stupid comment about amniotic fluid. hello, it's a joke, not that serious, lighten up.

The only artist that can escape that fate is hikki. Of course Flavor Of Life was already a hit before its release due to the tie in and the lyrics etc. But when she announced her divorce the sales actually got boosted up. At that time I was really happy that her popularity was back, but at the same time I was kinda confused by Japanese's reactions toward her divorce. It's kinda odd.

Then, ayu announced that she broke up with Tomoya, people suspected her tho that she used the news to boosted her sales (I can't remember those details, but something like that rite?). Maybe this time the sales could be partially affected by her divorce, but I still think lacking promotion is the major bomb to the sales.

TeamAyu2004 25th March 2012 04:51 AM

^ lol... Hikki is completely different... THEY LOVE HER... I swear, the girl can do no wrong... At least thats how I see it. (compared to reactions)

I'm still sad inside about the sales, but what can i expect?
Also, I think this album as done AMAZING for what the promotion was and all the wonderful singles that we got... I mean all 5 of them were just amazing! :D (I so wish I could type in sarcasm... I think we need a new font type. This is the font that will always refer be sarcasm. lol)

omygosh! 2012 is going to really happen!!!! :lech

I didn't realize that it wasn't common knowledge that as soon as Ayumi hit a number 2 on the charts the world would start to end.... sadness. :*(

ExodusUK 25th March 2012 05:33 AM

She's saving the good songs and energy for next year and the Namie-esuqe comeback her and Avex are planning for the 15th Anniversary.

FoObY 25th March 2012 05:46 AM

I think in the long run her album sales will just plateau and hover around 100,000. Maybe.

Ayu's career is far from over, unless she goes completely deaf or something.

_______________
Ayu will have something else released this year which will give her a #1 spot. Like when GUILTY was at #2 and then A COMPLETE ~ALL SINGLES~ was released at got her a #1 for that year.

yeah, that's what i care about the most. it's weird to me that some people stop listening to artists because they don't have high sales anymore.
higher sales are nice but as long as she's bringing the quality (which she is since this is one of her strongest albums) i'm not really bothered by her albums ~omg flopping~

How I would dream of this. I hope it would be true but chances are slim (at least for a big comeback). haha.
