That's exactly what it is. That song was for his album...Namie is simply covering it. That being said, I wouldn't mind a track by him. I really enjoyed his latest album :)

I could see Ayu doing a song in the style of S.T.O.P by David Guetta.

//ABEST 3rd May 2015 08:59 PM

i hope ayu will NEVER collaborate with David Guetta, i don't like him at all :shakehead ayu x Kygo would be a dream come true :love

David Guetta has a lot of cool songs, but sometimes he copies his own songs, and they're boring.

Exactly.

I would like a collab between ayu and blasterjaxx again but not as a remix... ^^
But there're more than a handful dj's/producers which i want to collab with ayu :yes

David Guetta and Zedd are two DJs (?) whose work is overrated imo, there's a good song once in a while but half of their work will have the same structure and end up sounding the same. Alesso is even worse in this point, everything he does sound alike. She better stick to RedOne, from these famous guys he (?) is the one who makes the most diverse work imo

don't forget Avicii, LAME!!

Well, I respect Zedd because he is classically trained, but I don't like his work because for someone with so much knowledge of very advanced musical composition (Zedd has and can actually write symphonies and other large classical works, and was doing this before he was teenager) he uses almost none of it in his actual work. I hope one day he actually incorporates it because I think his music would be on par with the work of artists like BT, who are hands-down complete masters of music and instrumentation.

I love RedOne. He may not be the most intelligent producer, but his songs have a lot of body to them and he's very intelligent when it comes to melody and movement. What I really want to hear between Ayu and RedOne is something like Jennifer Lopez's "Live It Up", where there's some Lady Gaga-esque work.

Also, as bad as this may sound, I would like to see her do something with Tim again. I know I was real against Tim's super gayness on PQ, but I've been wanting to see him and Ayu do something similar to NaNaNa, just a little classier. I mean, for Christ's sake, if Tim is going to do the girly thing, I want to see him in outfits like he wore in BRILLANTE. So, yeah, I'll be real happy if Ayu and Tim do something for one of the tracks and PVs.

Actually, I'll be REAL HAPPY if Tim produces another ballad for Ayu for this minialbum, or for her next studio album. I still listen to BRILLANTE and think it is one of her best written and produced works in the last 10 years.

Gustavopc 4th May 2015 06:39 PM

I really like Timmy works, but I always wondered: does he compose only? who does the arrengements? and still, I am not sure how much I understand these terms lol Take BRILLANTE, Party queen and ESM for an instace: they sound nothing alike, but it could be the work of someone else who made this distinction between them. Either way, so far I've liked all the songs he's been into, even singing along in NaNaNa. I guess that the problem people have with him are a bit of trans/homofobia or unawareness but mainly associating him to a moment in ayu's career which was a turbulent mess already.

YES TO LIVE IT UP!!

I loved that song when it dropped, and felt it was light years beyond her previous releases with Pitbull. That's what I was hoping for and expecting in regards to "XOXO" because Live It Up has really great anticipation / buildup to the uplifting chorus! XOXO is like the complete opposite of that!!

Her photoshoot from H is one of my favorites. She looks so natural and cool. That's the kind of cover I'd like but lately, a lot of her covers are very glossy and...well, up in her face. Which is fine, I suppose.

Andrenekoi 4th May 2015 07:21 PM

@Gustavopc
Timmy only composed the songs, he doesn't have production credits (what in this case, if I'm not wrong, means the arrangment, too).

@orbitalaspect
Timmy has nothing to do with NaNaNa, backing vocals aside. The song was composed by Corin and produced by CMJK.

The mini album will only have up beat songs thanks god (personally I'm happy about it since most ayu songs are ballads, or at least half).

So very very this... Zedd is a great illustration of how the market doesn't want interesting or complex music anymore. Back in the day rock & roll was big and complicated and interesting because people wanted more bang for their buck... now they want inoffensive background sound for the most part. Music these days isn't about its feature set anymore, lol. So Zedd does what he does in order to actually make a living. It's disappointing to see.

BT's current sound is kinda reflective of the times too, sadly. He was at his best doing big beat & complex breaks, but it went out of style pretty swiftly - his stuff since the mid-2000s is more run of the mill, more musically simple. Very very nice, and most of the time it's still emotionally effective, but it's no longer groundbreaking.

I would love another Timmy composition like Brillante or feature like NaNaNa. I loved the dated sound of NaNaNa (which is an unpopular opinion I think) and Brillante is just so amazing. So yeah, more please!
