I don't think so. Ayu has shown she is not reluctant to rush stuff out with Memorial Address and almost did so with Secret. I can't believe from Guilty until now, avex has not prepared any song aside from MW and Life to record. There may be a mini-album end of this year and truehappiness will probably blow through the roof (just kidding no offense :P)

Let me try to put this in context here. Kinki Kids had a 2 best compilations and for their 10th anniversary, they released a 39 song compilation that probably featured many hits from the previous best albums. B'z's the ultimate best or whatever it's called is also probably going to be a huge compilation of previously released hits which have probably featured in their previous numerous compilations. It's a TRADITION to release something like this. I'm discontent in the lack of original releases but there's nothing much to complain about this album.

I wasn't expecting this after A Best 2 but now it's come out, i'm not really surprised. I just wished there were more singles and TV promos. Like how she featured in domoto kyoudai in the middle of (m)u tour and had BLUEBIRD single prepared for release right after the tour. I wish this compilation well and may it sell a million figure and please avex, give me something to look forward to.

is she re making all those songs, or are they just all put onto the cds?

Also for B'z case , this year they will put out 2 best albums .

The 1st was B'z The Best "ULTRA Pleasure" which was released last month on 18th & then on 17th Sept , they will roll out B'z The Best "ULTRA Treasure" to celebrate their 20th anniversary so in a way that's a double whammy & blow .

Imagine if A BEST 2 were to be put out now & then about 2-3 months later , A COMPLETE . Everyone will complain even more than before

^That's the beauty of re-invention. Excellent marketing strategy though i don't approve. I think avex had A Best B&W released on the same week for the 36 year record thingy. The UWC record was a great bonus.

The songs are re-mastered which means same tune, same melody, same everything except it has a higher quality sound so you could say they are just putting all the songs into the cds except for who... which is re-made with the same words (probably) but different instrumentation. Maybe re-sung also? I'm not sure whether ayu will re-record it.

TH already answered that question. They're not being remade. They're staying the same and putting them onto CDs.

Hmmn... when you guys talk about B'z new best album. EXILE pops up inside my mind as well.. Looks like avex's milking the fans like crazy again this year... EXILE three best albums, namie best album, then ayu A COMPLETE.

with ayu releasing technically 2 best albums in 2 years, now I won't feel surprising if hikki's gonna release a BEST album in Dec (her 10th anniversary). I HOPE NOT... :P

I must say it's perfect for someone who doesn't own any of her singles or compilation albums and for curious non-fans to find out what ayu's songs are all about. Yeah avex has a way of milking their cash cows. EXILE had 3 best albums..? I'm almost glad Best bounce & lovers didn't do well. That shows you can't get away with it all the time. I hope avex will value the fans of singers under their label more in future.

EXILE might also sell a million with each of their best albums though this year. Which is pretty fearsome imo.

I'm timing each of the CDs and they're pretty hefty.

I used only original versions from singles [version M for WHATEVER, and for kanariya, the Jonathan Peters mix that's like 9 minutes long.. etc.. and for Who... I used the A BEST mix]

CD1: 1:16:46 -> 76:46 -> 76 minutes and 46 seconds
CD2: 1:13:06 -> 73:06 -> 73 minutes and 6 seconds
CD3: 1:08:03 -> 68:03 -> 68 minutes and 3 seconds

Grand total: 3:37:55 -> 3 hours, 37 minutes, and 55 seconds -> 217 minutes and 55 seconds..

This makes a bonus track.. HIGHLY LIKELY. Lots of extra time on the last disc.

Now that I've had time to think about this, I don't really like the idea. Yeah, it's great for her 10th Anniversary I guess, but I highly doubt we will get a new album come Christmas time which totally blows. I would have much rather had A ~10th Anniversary~ BEST with at least 12 re-recorded tracks in the ~10th Anniversary Version~ style. Would have been much more of an incentive and I think more people would be excited for that one.

Yeah, but this one is at a crazy value. Just as crazy as her old 12 track singles..

217 minutes for 4800 yen AND a DVD? That's crazy!

Disappointed cos I have all her songs as I bought all her albums. how I hope she can make the cd special by re-singing it or smth else. I don't really like the song Who... in which she will re-sing it. -_-
Honestly I can't find a difference in the remastered songs in A Best 2 where you all mentioned. I thought she will place some b-side songs in her album, making it really special in some sense. Oh well, probably I expect too much from this.

I hope the cover is done right. I could see them just using a giant "A" symbol or a collage of single covers in the form of the "A".

Since the cover is still to be released, it'll probably have Ayu on it.

I mean, the CD+DVD is different from the CD only, so it's likely to have her on it..
