A performance of Mr. Taxi from the 2011 Girl's Generation Tour has been uploaded on SMTWON's youtube! It's the Korean version of Mr. Taxi.



As much as I like that the Korean version of Mr. Taxi doesn't have as much autotune as the Japanese version (so we can hear their voices), their singing doesn't seem as powerful in this version. The whole song doesn't seem nearly as energetic as the original version. Even Taeyeon's powerful opening vocals seem to be a bit flat. I don't know if that's the way the song really is or if they're just tired and belting out the lyrics would be pushing it for them at this point, especially considering that they just completed their Japanese Tour. Either way, I'm guessing that this song will be on their upcoming Korean album. I was hoping that this wouldn't happen because now every album that they're going to release in Japan and Korea are going to have a couple of translated songs from their Japanese and Korean albums instead of all new original music. I can understand it being easier for them to do that but hopefully they'll keep the amount of translated songs they put on these albums and singles to a very small minimum.

MR TAXI Korean version sound a bit off to me especially Taeyeon's opening line :/ maybe it's because I used to listen to the Japan version.

I just hope it won't be their comeback track next September :no

Hopefully those will be the only two Korean versions of their Japanese songs on their upcoming Korean album. I also hope that their comeback track will be an original Korean song.

and about Korean Mr.Taxi.. it lacks the energetic feel from the original version, idk if it's just the girls being tired or the korean track it just weaker

At this time, there is no official information about the DVD for this tour so my opinion is purely based on speculation. For the "2011 Girls' Generation Tour", I think it will be released similiarly to their "Girls' Generation - The 1st Asia Tour : Into the New World" DVD. It will be the Korean version (since it is a Korea only tour) and most likely it will be region free since SM is well aware of the girls' fanbase outside of Korea.

^ i think, later they will release the 1st japan tour DVD somewhere around end of the year...and for the korean concert... it'll be liked "into the new world" DVD which will be released years later haha XDDD or never.. since there's already the Japan DVD..

I agree. The chance that their Japanese tour DVD will come out around the end of this year is like 100%, lol. At the latest, very early next year but I highly doubt they'll take that long to release it. And with many of the top Japanese artists releasing blu-rays of their tours as well, I wouldn't be surprised if Shoujo Jidai has a DVD and blu-ray version, considering how well their album and tour have done. There's also the possibility of a live CD but at this point, I don't want to jump to any conclusions about it. As for the DVD release of "2011 Girls' Generation Tour", I'm certainly not holding my breath for a release date for this year. I think if anything, we'll get a live CD by at least the end of this year. But at the same time with them being extremely popular now (probably much more popular now then they were when they went on their 1st tour), we may get a release for the DVD faster than this "Into the New World Tour" since SM seems to be on the "strike while the iron is hot" mode now.

oh and about the Korean Mr. TAXI.. I am NOT feeling it. I hope it was just for one performance and they don't really remake it and promote it in Korea.
