Stage-greeting for 16,000 people! Ninomiya Kazunari’s 4197km nationwide tour!

On March 28th, actor Ninomiya Kazunari and Director Otomo Keishi visited Fukuoka as their last stop in their stage greeting tour to thank all the five cities around the country where their movie “Platina Data” has been a smashing hit. Ninomiya appeared in front of 7,000 fans gathered in Hakata Station Square (Fukuoka) and sent his greeting in Hakata dialect, “Everyone in Fukuoka, you are all fashionable~”, receiving a huge cheer from the audience.

The production had promised to make this tour and visit theaters nationwide even before publishing. The cities were picked according to the number of access to QR codes in Toho Cinemas, where users had to register their cities to make them qualify. Ninomiya and Otomo have been visiting the top 5 cities that applied to this event, going from stage to stage since March 23rd first in Tokyo, followed by Sapporo, Niigata, Osaka and Fukuoka, the city who gathered the most amount of votes. They have traveled a total distance of 4197,27km across Japan.

Ninomiya has greeted a total of 16,000 fans in 18 events.

Ninomiya expressed his love for ramen, he usually has ramen with Arashi members in the dressing room whenever they are in Fukuoka. Soon after telling this he received a coupon for 100 bowls of free ramen from the cinema to which a delighted Ninomiya replied, “Aren’t they warm? Just when I was feeling like eating 100 bowls of ramen”.

Since screened in March 16th, “Platina Data” has been watched by 1.1million people and has grossed a total of 1.3 billion yen up until now.

Ok that's it , I'm so going to watch Platina Data when it opens in cinemas here in a few months's time & judging from what my friends have said about the movie as they've already seen it in cinemas , they all give it the thumbs up

And it's also an excuse for me to hear Breathless on the silver screen too haha

Arashi's Kazunari Ninomiya Thanks Fans For The Success of New Movie

Kazunari Ninomiya stopped by 5 cities in 3 days to thank fans for the success of his latest movie "Platina Data".

Since the start of its screening on March 16, the movie has recorded to have more than 1.1m cinema visits and total takings of above JPY 1.35bn, making it a huge success. The singer/actor did not mind traveling 4, 200 km to thank his supporters for the great accomplishment of the Sci-Fi movie.

Basing on the bar code downloading contest where fans have to download the codes at 309 cinemas nationwide, the 5 locations were chosen. Fukuoka's T Joy Hakata gained the most downloads and was the last stop of the tour. While in Fukuoka, the Arashi star greeted his fans from a 3-storey high terrace.

Shinjuku, Sapporo, Niigata and Osaka (Umeda) were the other 4 locations with a total of 18 greeting sessions for 8,500 fans. During this thanksgiving tour, Kazunari has received gifts with 100-bowls free ramen coupon from a cinema in Fukuoka, a straw bag from Niigata and 450 takoyaki from Osaka.

In the film, Ninomiya plays the role of a scientist who specializes in DNA. “It’s an incredible story that lets you take a look at a not too distant future", the Arashi star said.

Arashi in charge of the theme song for Sakurai Sho starring drama “Kazoku Game”

“Endless Game” is the title of Arashi’s new song which will be used as theme song of FujiTV drama “Kazoku Game” starred by Sakurai Sho.

“Kazoku Game” is based on the novel under the same name written by Honma Yohei. Yoshimoto is a tutor with unprecedented wilderness who is somewhat scary and mysterious, he will be in charge of an 8th grade outcast, Numata Shugeki. Yoshimoto will try to correct his student by taking care of his many problems.

There was a popular adaptation in 1983, directed by Morita Yoshimitsu and starred by Matsuda Yusaku. Because of its popularity, there’s now high expectations for the interpretation of Sakurai and the current director, Nagabuchi Tsuyoshi. They will dare to create a bold remake set in the current year.

As for Endless Game , I'm not that fond of the preview . It sounds like Troublemaker part II & took me a very long time to stop disliking it haha

Sho Sakurai Appears At Press Conference For Drama "Kazoku Game"

On April 9, Arashi member Sho Sakurai attended the press launch of Fuji TV's new spring drama "Kazoku Game".

The drama is based on Yohei Honma's novel. In fact, a live action film has already been done starring the late Yusaku Matsuda in 1983 and now, it is Sakurai's turn to play the weird Kouya Yoshimoto in a TV adaptation.

Along with Sakurai, fellow cast members Honami Suzuki, Ryuunosuke Kamiki, Shiori Kutsuna, Itsuji Itao, Seiju Uragami and AKB48's Rie Kitahara also appeared at the event. In the drama, Sakurai takes on the role of an eccentric home tutor who, despite of blurting out sarcastic words, helps the family of Kayoko Numata (Suzuki) to face problems like affairs, bullying and minor crime cases such as shoplifting.

Arashi will be providing the theme song "Endless Game" for the drama. "Kazoku Game" will be shown every Wednesday starting on April 17 at 10PM.

Masaki Aiba To Host Own Variety Show

"Aiba Manabu" will be the singer/actor's own show where he will be revealing some little-known interesting facts about Japan that his fellow Japanese will be amused to know and something that they will be proud of. In the show, Aiba will not be having his "idol image" as he swaps into a more smarty look wearing black-rimmed glasses.

In the first episode, it was revealed that the show will be focusing on different kinds of food that originate from Japan. In addition, Aiba will be participating in a food eating showdown against Sponichi reporter Sei Aiba. The Arashi member's goal was to finish 70 bowls of Wanko Soba but in the end, he only managed to finish 56 calling it a draw with Reporter Aiba.

TV Asahi's "Aiba Manabu" will run every Sunday starting on April 21 at 6PM.
