I actually really liked the Color Change album cover. :) It's simple, but has enough blue to be "colorful" - her face looks fine to me.

CHE.R.RY 13th August 2008 05:29 AM

^ Ugh, not me. I thought they were too plain and a little awkward :/...I just don't care for that 'vacation/on the go' look :no.

Kaiouforever 13th August 2008 10:04 AM

Color Change! came in at #8 with 15,519 copies sold...

I hope she doesn't drop off too quickly..I want her to break 30k if she can! This album is so good.

Meat Pao 13th August 2008 10:20 AM

Wow... didn't expect such low sales at all...

Terrible. Just terrible. It did worser than wut I had predicted. No one didn't cared about Kuri's release. :weep The poor girl. I bet she poured her heart into this album. I hope she doesn't drop off the charts too quickly either. I at least want her to get to 50k too. Sony should have pushed the album back. Ugh! :no

Bleh, that does suck :dead2. Sometimes I feel like the Japanese are too close-minded when it comes to music -_-...

Beauty4123 13th August 2008 11:06 PM

at least CK made the top 10? (trying to be positive here) :P

Re:★ 14th August 2008 06:09 AM

LOL you guys are suprised? Did Sony promote the album or singles at all? Nope! One TV performance in June for Namida no Saki ni, an interview in July for ONE and she has an interview on HEYx3 in 5 days. That's it in the space of two months. But I'm not complaining, if Sony actually really wanted this album to sell, they would've given Kuri more promotion. Notice how ALL YOURS got a big billboard in Shibuya (shopping central) last year, and that a PV was made for Dream World, an album track, and she even performed it live! Besides, you watch Kuri kick some ass next year when CK10 comes out! :blove

ayuayu798 14th August 2008 03:01 PM

I'm not surprised, her singles havent been selling all to well either... At least she is in top ten, maybe she'll get more sales once she appears on Heyx3 :)

CHE.R.RY 15th August 2008 12:55 AM

^ I guess that's true, but still. I feel sorry for Kuri cuz this album deserves way more recognition! Hopefullly that live will help her out a little :/..

cloud♥honey 15th August 2008 06:30 AM

Color change? She will turn Michael Jackson, rite?

The album is just amazing. It's weird, but I don't usually like this kind of hip-hoppish music. It kicks ALL YOURS to overload, although. She even needed promotion, she really needed that. :( I feel sorry for you, Kuri.

Crystal Kay to sing theme for U.S. film
Sat, August 16, 2008 (2:38pm EDT)
Singer Crystal Kay has been appointed to do a theme song for an American film. "HOLD ON," a rock-influenced number with entirely English lyrics, will be used in "Dolan's Cadillac," an adaptation of a Stephen King short story. The film is being directed by Jeff Beesley and stars Christian Slater and Wes Bentley.

Crystal Kay has sung several themes for Japanese movies and television series, but this will be her first for a foreign production. She was chosen for the tie-up by producer Ellen Wander, who listened to the previously unreleased song.

Crystal Kay is hoping this will help her achieve her goal of entering the U.S. market. Her most recent album, "Color Change!," includes two songs she created in Los Angeles with producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, known for working with popular artists such as Janet Jackson.

"Dolan's Cadillac" is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters in 2009. A Japanese release has not yet been decided.

Beauty4123 17th August 2008 03:41 AM

cool, a way to get crystal's name out there. :D

Kaiouforever 18th August 2008 08:08 AM

Woo-hoo! I will probably go see the movie just because Kuri sings the song xD

criminal 18th August 2008 09:53 AM

OMG, that could work out for her in terms of getting her foot through [?] the door in the American market. Emphasis on could. I'm sure the movie will be R-rated and released in about 60 theatres.

yukito 18th August 2008 04:55 PM

Wow, that sounds great to me. I'm here to see the movie when it comes out... If it ever will in Portugal.
Also on a side note her music Toki no Kakera reminds me of "You Gotta Be" by Des'ree, I don't know why, but it does.:P

Kaiouforever 19th September 2008 05:07 PM

I wonder when they will release more info on the movie.

Melon Panda 21st September 2008 06:53 PM

I always thought her image and music ought to do well in the American market. She doesn't even have to make a big fuss over it, unlike some other artists (I love them too, I just think Crystal Kay has a better chance.)

ALPHY 22nd September 2008 01:20 AM

Haha, and we return to this thread.

We're gonna have to move back into Zelda-Maker's CK thread in no time. ^^

Melon Panda 22nd September 2008 03:51 AM

That depends, I suppose. :) Whichever thread gets the longest first (most likely this one) will get to have a continuing #2 thread, making that particular thread the "real" official thread.
