One thing I've noticed about the special effects (the wall of destruction behind them more specifically), it looks really bad until you see it in high quality. Maybe it's just me. *shrug*

Mariah will vastly outsell her here, and Madonna will be the victor in Europe. But Mariah will probably have Asia since she's the #1 selling gaijin artist of all time!

COADF sold 1.7 million in the U.S. Hard Candy will probably do better since 4 Minutes is exploding. COADF also outsould 'Mimi' in Japan, since she hasn't been as popular there since she left Sony.

A HQ clip of Miles Away is available for streaming on Madonna's official site. It has a new splash page and everything! :) Look up top to see a small picture of the Hard Candy Special Edition (you can also preorder it for $29.98) and it looks like there will be a contest of some sort in the future.

drewbilation 4th April 2008 01:11 AM

the "Hard Candy" special edition was only 19.99 at BestBuy.com for a while. not sure if it still is, though.

OMFG!!!!

OMFG! I found Candy Shop! I don't know if anyone's heard this yet, but I was on Madonna's myspace and clicked on her top friend. This girl named Catherine has the song on her myspace.

Vinylfantasy 4th April 2008 01:31 AM

It leaked last year. :laugh

KaoriNeko 4th April 2008 01:32 AM

^:thud Oh.
LMAO! Whoops!

Vinylfantasy 4th April 2008 01:33 AM

There is an early demo of The Beat Goes On too if you don't already have that. Miles Away and Give It 2 Me only have partial clips.

KaoriNeko 4th April 2008 01:39 AM

^I don't have Candy Shop or The Beat Goes On. T_T

Vinylfantasy 4th April 2008 01:55 AM

Here are the demos. The reports say that The Beat Goes On sounds nothing like the leaked version but Candy Shop sounds basically the same.

KaoriNeko 4th April 2008 02:07 AM

^THANKS!
...but isn't this against the rules? -hides-

Richieooxx 4th April 2008 02:14 AM

That video was the biggest waste of 4 mins ever.
Seriously. Madonna has amazing videos but this one...is her worst.

Physical copies of the CD still aren't available, so he can take advantage of this gap period. When it is either available for selling either trought internet or physical copy, then it won't be permitted. Vinylfantasy does know that, so no worries there.

cloud♥honey 4th April 2008 03:22 AM

I posted the HQ MV in my LJ, click in my set to get the link. Hope that's ok, mods. *runs away* Well, as I said in my LJ: I didn't like the MV that much. I'm really disappointed coz I expected so much. The song is simply perfect but the MV... well, it is disgusting and pretty boring imo.

Vinylfantasy 4th April 2008 04:30 AM

Even when the album comes out, those are just demos that are different than the tracks that will appear on the album. They'll still remain unreleased.

Yeah, I don't know how I felt about it. She looks good, though, I noticed she looks a lot more feminine and younger than she normally does. But I just kept thinking that she seems a bit out of place in the video and on the record in general. It feels like she's just a second-rate Nelly Furtado on this song. I like "Miles Away" a lot though.

Madonna to join Sharon Stone and Harvey Weinstein at annual amfAR fundraising gala in Cannes

New York, NY, FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE. Madonna, Sharon Stone, Harvey Weinstein, Michelle Yeoh, Michel Litvak, Carine Roitfeld, Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele, and amfAR Chairman of the Board Kenneth Cole will serve as chairs of amfAR's Cinema Against AIDS, to be held on May 22 during the 61st annual Cannes International Film Festival. The evening will be presented by Bold Films, Chopard, and the Weinstein Company.

The annual star-studded event, which will benefit amfAR, will take place at Le Moulin de Mougins and will feature a formal dinner, along with amfAR's world-renowned live auction and a special performance by Seal. In addition, this year's event will feature a short clip of I Am Because We Are, the Madonna-produced and -narrated documentary about children orphaned by AIDS in Malawi.

The full screening of I Am Because We Are is scheduled to take place the evening before, May 21, in Cannes and will be associated with amfAR's Cinema Against AIDS event. Madonna's long history with amfAR began in 1992, when she received the Foundation's Award of Courage.

Harvey Weinstein and Sharon Stone, tireless advocates for AIDS research and amfAR, will conduct the highly anticipated live auction with the assistance of several of the event chairs and other celebrities who will be present. In Past years, the auction has seen legendary impromptu performances by Sir Elton John, Robin Williams, Natalie Cole, Liza Minnelli, Sheryl Crow, Ringo Starr, Macy Gray, Milla Jovovich, and Lionel Ritchie. Last year's live auction raised million, bringing the evening's fundraising total to million.

amfAR's annual Cinema Against AIDS gala has been an important and successful fundraising event for the Foundation since 1993, generating more than million for essential AIDS research. Past events have been hosted by Dame Elizabeth Taylor, Sharon Stone, Demi Moore, and Sir Elton John.

Like the epidemic itself, AIDS research knows no borders. amfAR's programs have had a global reach since 1986, when the Foundation began awarding international grants. Today, amfAR continues to fund HIV/AIDS researchers worldwide and works to translate that research into effective treatment, prevention, and education programs around the globe.

O WOW! that MV is cool! loved it!
she looks great too

bondingo 4th April 2008 11:16 AM

I thought the video was pretty good. I wasn't expecting anything amazing, but it was better than your average music video, that's for sure. The effect with the stuff colliding with people and showing inside of them was creative and interesting. Madge looked really good in it too. It's kind of hard to imagine that she's 49, but at the same time not really. My Mom's 46 and I think she could easily look as good as her, especially with all the makeup they put on her, but that's besides the point :laugh
