Although I still luv BoA's music, I feel that her music isn't strong enough to enter the US market. Plus, she's gonna have tough competiton with gurls her age in teh US market. With Jordan Sparks and Leona Lewis taking the music scene by storm, I just see her failing. I know her asian background will draw stereotypy towards and I would definitely hate for that to happen to BoA. :weep if she wants to break from that then she definitely needs.....to do a collabo with Chris Brown. :laugh No, I'm serious. I think she would easily become famous then. :yes

ew no :dead2

She'll probably have all the rappers on her album, and some crunk tracks. :laugh

I personally don't think her music style is the kind people like in the US market. Maybe the "Girls On Top" style, but not so much the rest. And I feel like people are going to criticize her voice because it's nasally, and practically no artist in US has a nasally voice really.

I understand why Wonder Girls are going to debut in US because they don't sound really nasally and their music style could do REALLY well in the US market. Not BoA though.

^That's the type of music I miss from BoA. I luv her earlier works. Lately, she's just been putting out music that just sellable and not really putting her heart into it as well.

I am so ready for another Korean joint from her. I want Anyband to return too. :weep

I can definitely see Omarion doing a collabo with her since he did one with Rain.

Her American label's best bet would be to market her as the "Asian Ciara". Hmm? :shrug

I think BoA has stop putting much effort and heart in her Japanese music. But whenever she does something Korean, it's a whole different story. Not only she sounds better and the music too, but she seems happier and more confident. It's crazy how her Korean ballads are much better than her Japanese ballads. If we compare one of her latest Korean ballad like "Sunshine" and her latest Japanese ballad like "be with you.", "Smile", "LOVE LETTER", there's so much more emotion in her Korean ballads.

She needs to do a Korean album after THE FACE tour.

That's what I think as well. Maybe in Korean, she has more confidence and happiness. I mean, her family and friends are Korea while she is in Japan all by herself. I think over the years that she's been in Japan, she just has lost confidence and does have enough drive to put her soul into her music. One thing she hasn't lost though and that's her dancing skills...although, she doesn't dance as much now.

@ayufan: I would luv for that to happen too but I want her to get some rest.

Amai Yume 12th April 2008 07:25 PM

I also don't want this U.S. thing to happen...especially not now. She should first take a break so that she can really find that inner heart to put into her songs. I feel like the ballads on THE FACE didn't have enough emotion. be with you. was close but I feel like there was something missing from it. On OUTGROW [Kimi no Tonari de and Stay My Gold] as well as MADE IN TWENTY [Candle Lights, Winter Love], there was definitely a magic in those songs that drew me to them. I feel like as time goes on, the efforts just aren't as strong [not BoA's fault...]

"Kissing You" sounds pretty bland and if this type of music is what her producers plan to bring to the English market, it's just not going to work. Especially now when pop isn't as big as it used to be. If this is actually going to happen then I think making "aggressive and edgy" tracks is going to be her best bet. Stuff like "Girl In The Mirror" and "Dakishimeru" might be able to cut it. I love BoA but they can't just work her like this without breaks.

BoA's a great artist and with that was her happiness and energy. She's still pretty young and she's practically put out an album every year since she debuted. Not to mention her touring and various single releases + promotion. The girl deserves a break and I would love to hear from her that she's doing better or loving doing music like she used to or something that could convince me she's all right. And although I don't have any of her Korean music, she definitely has a lotta fans over there and she focus on Korea after a deserved break.

Please let this be a B-side that will not be placed on the album and let's hope for an A-side that displays BoA's true talent and strength. Cause as much as I loved "LOSE YOUR MIND," I was really hoping for something as edgy as "Dakishimeru" and "be with you." is great, but it's not "Winter Love..."

I believe in you BoA!!!

she loves hitomi too???
wow~~~~ hi~ i'm new here~

I think BoA's voice will be fine in the US market - it's her English I'm worried about. If her pronunciation is off, it'll turn off a lot of listeners. As bubblegum-pop is no longer trendy, it'll be tough for her if she chooses that genre. However, she should do what she does best (even if it's not the most popular) and release a song on the radio without identifying herself first. If the song is catchy, audiences will be able to listen and enjoy without making judgments based on race, etc.
