Yeah, nobody cares about discussion anymore unless it is something very popular or relevant.

There's a fan forum just in case if you're interested: http://canta-per-me.net/ though I'm just a lurker there.
It's all about Yuki Kajiura and all of her projects, including Kalafina.

The new live album is weird, they have MC with separated tracks, I mean seriously?

Yoake 23rd January 2016 02:54 PM

^I didn't listen to the live album yet, so I don't really understand what you mean by MC with separated tracks is weird?

Definitely listening to more stuff. Too bad that this thread is practically dead. This happening with most artists I like.

Agree with you. That's sad that only some few artists get attention. But at least this thread come back alive when there is a new release.

Welcome among Kalafina's fans. :)

Surreal17 23rd January 2016 05:00 PM

Thanks :)

What's your favourite member? I was watching an old Chinese interview and Hikaru seems funny in a cute way. From what I noticed there, Wakana is the most talkative. Is she the leader or they don't have one? too many kpop : ))

mellody 23rd January 2016 05:42 PM

Well, basically they include all the MC in the live album, normally they never put it like any other Kajiura's live album but this time... the whole album is like audio version of the concert. They even include the last Lineup message and Ending.

Personally, based on characters I like Hikaru the most, I really like her singing style also, but recently she changed a bit, and Keiko caught my attention more.

They don't have leaders, only something like "front-men" or spokesperson which is either Wakana or Keiko, probably because of seniority (they work with Yuki Kajiura longer than Hikaru), I'm not sure though. And yes, Wakana is the most talkative, if you see blog posts written by her, it's very long compared to others :laugh

If you want to know the members more (including trivias), you can read this blog post:
All About Kalafina

Yoake 23rd January 2016 11:12 PM

ah ok it's what you meant. As it's their first live album I downloaded (but the 5th anniversary live selection), I was a bit lost.

I don't have a favourite girl as I'm more interested about their music than the character. They could be awful person as long as the music resonates with my soul, it's enough to me.

Regarding to their voices, I don't prefer one over the others too. They are all three so beautiful.

Zahara 24th January 2016 01:34 AM

I have a preference for Keiko because of her unusual voice.

Yoake 27th January 2016 01:54 PM

After two years, new videos were added in their VEVO page :

Surreal17 27th January 2016 02:13 PM

I've also came across on their second album "Red Moon" two days ago and I love Hikari no Senritsu!! That song is so good.

mellody 28th January 2016 06:45 AM

I wonder why moonfesta is not in the VEVOpage.

Anyway, I'm a big fan of Hikari no Senritsu too! :heart

Surreal17 28th January 2016 10:39 AM

Nothing compares to the feeling you get when you listen to a good song for the very first time. The level of endorphine in the brain is really high and you get to anticipate what's to come next. This is how I felt with that song.

Hikari no Senritsu and storia send similar vibes in the sense that both have that old mountain sound. They remind me a bit of my country, where in some areas we hold medieval festivals.

mellody 28th January 2016 11:43 AM

I see, I understand what you mean.
They have a lot more with those kinds of sound in another release.

So, have you ever heard about the composer of Kalafina? I mean her works for soundtracks and other projects.

Surreal17 28th January 2016 11:55 AM

About Yuki Kajiura? Hmm, not much tbh. I only know that she has worked with multiple artists including KOKIA and that she is the genius behind Kalafina' s sound. I have a certain old song from Fictionjunction (something with Akatsuki) which is a nice song but that's all.

mellody 28th January 2016 04:38 PM

If you like Kalafina certain songs like Hikari no Senritsu or storia, maybe you'll be interested to hear similar sounds from the soundtracks she made for Rekishi Hiwa Historia. Just a suggestion.

I guess that's Akatsuki no Kuruma, from FJ YUUKA. She hasn't released anything, though. Only FictionJunction did.

Surreal17 28th January 2016 05:44 PM

Thanks for the suggestions. I have a soft spot for folk/ new age music.

I never understood the management of Sony about Vevo. The vevo accounts of all artists under this label that I know, are rarely update. As if Sony forgets their existence just after their creation.

I would really like that SME changes the layout of Kalafina's official website. It's so outdated and the ergonomics is so bad. >.<

mellody 29th January 2016 03:24 AM

I like Red Moon as well, the atmosphere is dark but very enjoyable since it consisted of various genre.

Sony is so behind when it comes to YouTube, I think it's the last studio that allowed their music videos uploaded to YouTube? And then they forget about that. Maybe VEVO is more profitable for them so they switched? Who knows.

Don't expect to to happen, unless they have a new management :laugh

Surreal17 1st February 2016 07:18 PM

The four bsides of Red Moon era are really good. Too bad that none made the cut. But at least we got more album tracks. Love how Gloria is so simple in its arrangement but at the same time so deep and sad.

~Just downloaded After Eden : )

mellody 2nd February 2016 07:25 AM

Gloria is a good one when performed live, love it so much.

Now that you've reached After Eden, welcome to the brightest album of Kalafina!

Anyway, some info, Kalafina will have Arena Tour or whatever and another 2 days Budokan Live!

Surreal17 2nd February 2016 11:56 AM

Ok, I'll share my impressions of their third album, After Eden.
After their amazing first two studio albums, especially after Red Moon, which is in my opinion a brilliant album with all its dramatic and theatrical feel and multifaceted style, I was expecting something similar. But I noticed that AE has an overall poppish arrangement and easier feel - which kinda disappointed me. This doesn't mean that I don't find enjoyable songs on the album, but there are a lot of tracks that feel like old Kalafina songs, produced in a more mainstream way. For example, magnolia is super similar to Kyrie and maybe love comes down.
I'm really addicted to Kugatsu and songs like sandpiper, neverending, snow falling, symphonia.

I think we need a new thread :)

Surreal17 4th February 2016 08:24 PM

I need guidance~
I've entered canta per me and there they have a huge list with Kalafina's lives. What are the actual available ones (DVD or TV)? I scrolled this thread and someone was mentioning that they actually don't have many released lives (except the annual big tours)
I've watched After Eden Special LIVE 2011 and Kajiura Produce 3rd Anniversary LIVE TOUR Kalafina LIVE 2010 “Red Moon”. Is there any concert for Seventh Heaven around the net?
