We can keep saying she's still popular for as long as we want, but there, she's got one major demographic, not counting all the 50 year old men, cause I doubt theyre buying her stuff.

Her sales tell the truth. But it doesnt mean its bad. In a place where you-know-who sells millions, im pretty happy shes not up there.

her sales in respect to the grand scale of Jpop is good, actually safe best of albums not many female singers are pulling these numbers for original material

Im sorry, I know she still has great sales for jpop in general, and I dont think she's a has been, but I think its mainly her fan base buying her things now.

Shes not really the epitome of whats popular, nor does she have the image that is traditionally popular. But I think it works in good and bad ways.

I think she'll always have her fans, because she IS different and cool and stuff.

But I think we shouldnt expect the sales we used to...especially if they arent going to even try with promo lol

Well we know they did plan promo for this album but it's been canceled for obvious reasons. Also I have a feeling Kuu will shed her sexy image for her first release or two and do ballads that Japan loves from her. With that in mind I think she can get some good sales when she comes back depending on how everything is handled.

yeah, those are all great, but I like her western sound too, which is absent from this list. Im sorry, I dont know if she will ever go back to her earlier hybrid sound.

You are right, I have noticed myself recently that it's the "western" stuff that doesn't seem to sit well with me. Just out of curiosity, what would you consider her western stuff? I think AT THE WEEK END is more western and a lot of the electro stuff I love is western sounding as well. But I do not like the mix of ghetto/electro western stuff it seems (POP DIVA, V.I.P). But I would like to know what is considered western just so I can compare my tastes and form a better understanding of what I seem to like and why I like it.

I think songs like Get Up & Move!!, Love goes like..., BE MY BABY, Driving - those all have a good mix of western and eastern and that's why I love them so much I think.
