I'm so excited that SNSD is making their comeback in January with a special broadcast program to start the new year off with a bang! However, I am a bit concerned with the timing of the album release and their promotional activities for it as their 2nd Japanese Tour starts on February 9th and ends on April 10th. They'll be very busy for the first 1/3 of the year so I hope they are able to stay healthy. Here's the full article regarding their comeback from Soshified:

Rumors of Girls’ Generation’s impending comeback have been swirling, as sources are saying that Girls’ Generation is planning to make their comeback in Korea some time in January, 2013 with their fourth full-length Korean album.

Further adding to the speculation, a representative from SM Entertainment said, “It is true that we are in the last stages in preparation for the fourth album. But there isn’t anything decided on regarding whether it will be in January or what month. We will keep preparing and mediate the time”, and that Girls’ Generation would be juggling their promotions for both Korea and Japan.

Additionally, MBC is purported to be preparing a special show just for Girls’ Generation’s comeback.

One source revealed to OSEN on the afternoon of December 11th, “MBC is preparing a comeback program for Girls’ Generation. There aren’t any specific details of the show, and the air date has not been decided on yet, but I know it as airing in January.”

MBC has been preparing for this comeback special broadcast since last month, have managed a separate staff, and are devoting themselves to the production.

This special broadcast is going to be a separate, independently organized program apart from the music program, “Show! Music Core”. While there are many typical cases of popular artists getting approximately ten-minute comeback stages on music shows, it’s rare that they get an independent, separate comeback broadcast like Girls’ Generation.

It seems this reflects on the the general public’s high interest in Girls’ Generation’s comeback.

Excitement for Girls’ Generation’s comeback has been growing since rumors began earlier this year of a comeback in November. It’s been 14 months since Girls’ Generation released their third Korean album, “The Boys”. They are still the top selling Korean Act in Japan.

If 4 Minute is STILL trying, we have nothing to worry about as far as Girls' Generation is concerned.

Because lawwwd knows 4 Minutes never even got their 5 minutes of ANYTHING in Japan okay.

4minute released a BEST, and they sold around 4000 copies, i think this is the end for 4minute in Japan (poor girls, T_T).

But i think SNSD could keep releasing japanese stuff without any problem for another 3 years, their sales are nice, and they sold more than KARA with their album in the 1st week

Finally they got a Leslie Kee photoshoot XD and I'm glad it turned out lovely :heart well a little over cutesy for me but who cares :p

I hope isn't a remake from a japanese song with the same video, if is the case, at least they can do a song without MV, like "Im a Diamond" or "Animal" IMO.

Yeah it's probably "Boomerang", you can find a Korean version online because it was leaked when they released "The Boys". Fans say it was supposed to replace "Gee" at the time but eventually got scrapped.
I just hope they'll record new vocals at least, else it would be kinda lazy... But it's just a pre-release and I love this song so w/e! :laugh

As you all have stated, I too think that the song is "BOOMERANG". Although I would usually groan at the fact that this song is a remake of a song we've already heard (although it was leaked and also released in Japanese), I'm looking forward to seeing them promote it as well as the title track.
