I have no idea why their record company wouldn't be taking them seriously. They've gained an incredible amount of fame; both in Asia and in the Western world. They'd have to be brain-dead to "stop caring" about them all of a sudden.

I think it's maybe to do with giving the girls a break. They're on tour; apparently a world tour as well, despite some of these dates still not being released. I don't expect new stuff when they're touring. It would of been nice if they'd released a new album to promote alongside it, but obviously they're working hard enough to please their managers so I'm just glad we're not seeing any stories of them fainting or becoming ill due to stress.

I can wait for new stuff. I'm impatient too but I'm sure their next releases will be worth the wait. :)

They coming to Singapore in 2 days time :)
i was hoping they actually released a new song like YG promised but guess not...

I don't think that YG doesn't take them seriously, and I don't think that they stopped caring, I just think that they're creating less interest for them in Korea right now, which is what I meant by "screwing them over".

Two of my friends are living in Korea right now and even they were telling me that it seems like 2NE1 has kind of faded from the spotlight. I know I have to take this with a grain of salt, because I don't live there myself, but when I heard that I was disappointed.

After the stellar year they had in 2011, it was just upsetting to see them lose on every music program so far this year with "I Love You". I was hoping for another round of kick-butt promotions and new singles. They slaughtered the competition in 2011.

I think I just get frustrated because I'm a YG-stan so when there's no new music, I have no other Korean artists to spaz over lol. I know I should probably expand my interests - and I've tried - but no other artists cut it for me but Big Bang/2NE1 out of K-Pop.

I'm definitely glad they're on a global tour right now, good for them, I'm just jealous that I was unable to see them live so I'm kind of disinterested in it.

Yeah, exactly. I've felt the same way about Big Bang too, but at least with them they had a 2012 release and then GD released his mini-album not too long ago.

I understand it a bit more with Big Bang because I know that Seungri was in Japan doing the variety show/anime/drama thing, Youngbae is recording his new album, Top is filming that Korean drama, and GD has his solo promos or w/e, so they're incredibly busy.

I still miss them though. :(

JackieRos 28th November 2012 05:00 PM

they need a rest maybe there hasn't been anything new because of that.

Not Fade Away 28th November 2012 05:04 PM

^I'm all about giving artists rests. Lord knows I've been patient with Utada.

I think it's mostly the fact that YG has been creating a lot of hype for new singles and nothing has come of it but 'push-back' dates.

If they're trying to give 2NE1 a rest, just come out and say it and that'll be fine. At least then I can stop the heart palpitations that occur every time I think new material is coming but then it gets pushed back.

*hearT_Place* 29th November 2012 07:17 AM

I think my biggest frustration is the fact that YG keeps saying that they're coming back, and then it never happens. So now it's getting to the point where they've almost completely lost any momentum they could've had with I Love You (and, if I recall correctly, weren't even the promotions for ILY cut short?)

AyuHamasaki01 29th November 2012 04:16 PM

I hope we get some new material soon...

Kouyou 29th November 2012 04:21 PM

There's no doubt that they lost the momentum of I Love You-- that song came out five months ago. It's hardly relevant anymore. I just really don't understand what YG is doing... :shakehead 2NE1 is head and shoulders above a lot of girl groups out there yet they market/manage them poorly, imho.

Earth_maiden 29th November 2012 04:23 PM

I've forgotten about the girls for now, focussing on other artists. I still love them all the same though.

:yes they've definitely lost momentum with I Love You. And yup, the promotions were pretty short (I don't know if they cut them on purpose, but promotions for their other singles were definitely longer).

And that aside, YG coming out with that statement that the girls no longer wanted to do variety shows didn't help them I'm sure. They could have used those shows for extra promotion, and I'm sure a lot of those programs weren't too happy about that.

Yeah I haven't even played I Love You for like 2 months now haha. Without a follow-up single, the song is somewhat forgettable. I still love it, but I don't think it had the impact ability that I Am The Best did.

I mean luckily my Japanese artists have stuff going on to tide me over, but I was really looking forward to new stuff from 2NE1 cause I got really hyped up about them during I Love You and now I'm kind of disinterested in them (though I still love them a lot).

That'll probably change as soon as their next release happens, though. :D

------------------------------

I mean....even YG Ladies has essentially been posting nothing but news about Minji's cell phone drawings (which are really good) and the girls' twitter conversations.

I hope they might say SOMETHING at tonight's concert in Singapore!!! :)
3 more hours to go ^^ im so excited!!

freedreamer 1st December 2012 03:45 PM

I URGE EVERY 2NE1 FAN WHO HAS THE OPPORTUNITY TO GO FOR THIS CONCERT
OMG IT WAS THE BEST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD FROM A CONCERT!!!!!!!!!

the atmosphere was superb right from the start and it never died even till the last song. I felt it was too short :( The girls were superb. CL is truly BORN to perform. Minzy had an amazing solo dance break. Bom's vocals in It Hurts touched me so much. Dara was so sultry in her Kiss performance. THEY WERE SUPERBBBB I have no other words except Perfect. I was at the last row on the middle section and that never got me down at all. The energy and sound was incredible and the LIVE BAND OMG. LIVE BAND. That's SO rare in a K-pop concert seriously.

OH one thing...I TOTALLY gonna download that LIVE album because I was so mindblown with EVERY SINGLE TRACK they sang, it was all remixed and had the live band. One particular song that stood for me was SCREAM. Whoa that song is INSANE live. Heavy rock accompaniment and CL just kept tellling us to SCREAMMMMMM it was just HIGH. Every song was amazing. Im so happy to have seen In The Club and Stay Together live too, being a blackjack since their debut. :') suffering from heavy withdrawal symptoms now >< I'm glad I didnt pass on this one just because of my exam HAHA

honeslty, YG has given a lot of promises about every artist it has

Tae Yang off BB was to release his solo in September, but then in November. it's 3th of Dec today, okay
2NE1 were to release new album in September then in November again. and then, they even didn't attend the MAMA awards.
and wasn't Seungri off BB to have his own Japanese show?

While i agree with you that YG always has all these false promises and delays, about MAMA, thats because they had commitments in Singapore. I dont think YG promised that they would be on MAMA and besides, MAMA is a show whereby artistes turn up only if they win (or some say, turn up TO win). They definitely werent the hottest female grp in Korea this year.

Yeah, but VIPs knew Taeyang's single wouldn't happen so soon. 2NE1's album was a disappointment though, I was really expecting it in november 'cause there was a rumor about filming a MV...
And Seungri actually had his show in japan, it's called "Seung-chan's Complete Victory Declaration", i think it had 12 episodes, bbvipchannel is gonna sub it.
