100 % sure. I have several recorded concerts from this tour, so I put one track onto another and Poker face, Fly High and Honey are completely identical!
What makes it hard for fans to identify that it's playback is that this time she uses slightly off-key pre-recordered version, so it sounds pretty live.

Andrenekoi 15th July 2013 05:08 AM

^Well, at least she is not screwing her voice singing those with the high pitched voice... Those songs are far way her healthy range @_@

Hikki doesn't lip sync.
Ayu and Koda do sometimes.
Namie did it a lot, but not at all on recent years. She uses heavy backtrack during some performances, what some picky people don't consider "real" live singing (I'm not included).

ayumimylove 15th July 2013 06:24 AM

What´s the deal about she´s lip sync or not? I mean she always sings live about 70% of the concert so I repeat what´s the problem?

Namie sometimes uses a backing track, but I can't think of a performance that I've seen that is full out lip synch, let alone "a lot".

I remember seeing her lip-synching a lot during her TK days/early 2000s, not a whole concert, but enough so she could do her dancing. I can't remember right now the performances (both because I didn't like the concerts enough and because it has some years now since I watched them), but I remember I was surprised because I was used to her not lip-synching at all.

But nothing wrong with that, some older Ayu concerts are a lipsynching feast too (AT03-04 comes to mind).

~angel*ayumi~ 15th July 2013 08:44 AM

I see nothing bad about lipsynching for certain songs, it´s normal for stars like Ayu, Kumi or also Western stars like Britney Spears to lipsynch upbeat songs with a lot of dancing/moving. And Ayu´s cute sections are a lot of moving, and it is really hard to dance + sing at the same time, esspecially such high note songs like posker face or honey. So just try it before you blame the artist for that.
And you never should forget that Ayu is not a singer when she is on Tour, she is a performer.

Andrenekoi 15th July 2013 08:55 AM

^I particulary don't see anything wrong with that either, I just like the artists to take some time to record a "live" vocal track before doing it.

But I do prefer when the performers find other solutions to the dancing/singing version... Being it having back-up singers/backtrack (the most usual) or doing a Beyoncè and openly not singing nor miming while dancing.

Or the cooler solution:

"Look! No microphone!" :V

Really? I own all of her concerts and really can't remember any clear incidence of her lip synching at all. (and you know I'm a huge stickler for lip synching! lol) But she does indeed use some pretty strong backing tracks sometimes.

ayumisrael 15th July 2013 11:18 AM

Well if it's just poker face~Fly high~HONEY part I don't mind much, it's probably because it's hard for her to sing these live again and that's the cute part anyway.

Yeah, I know you are! xD
Maybe I mistook it for lip-synching? I don't know, but I wasn't trying to bash her... I believe only 2 of my faves doesn't use lip-synching as a everyday practice. :P

krtman2002 15th July 2013 11:49 AM

Does she lip-synch in this live? Because if she doesn't, she DEMONSTRATED she can dance and sing perfectly, that's why I HATE lip-synching. I can understand it in the PCDL, but not in A BEST TOUR!! :headache

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xkQbfj7f97U

Anyway, I'll keep loving ayu, her tours and her music, but I can't stand these things in a singer. In Spain EVERY SINGER lip-shynch, and I hate that because they don't do their job. Ok, they do it in concerts, but not on the tv and that annoys me a lot, XD.

saigodansu 15th July 2013 12:07 PM

She wasn't lip-syncing there and I don't think she does except in her PVs. I've seen the performances where she's getting winded and you can hear her breathing harder while singing. Plus with her backup vocalists especially after adding 2 men, having a track replace anyone's voice would get extremely noticeable to the entire crowd not just a few. Some are just way too touchy with their expectations. She even has a manipulator there for voice changing effects to be done through her mic and if she was lip-syncing, that would be an ideal time to have a track take over instead of hiring an extra person to be on stage. The only time I hear tracks is when there is supposed to be an echo of her voice or she sang multiple tracks where she is lead and backing vocal for a section as in the beginning of the above video.

kaito_moonlove 15th July 2013 12:11 PM

Lipping ? In my opinion, it isn't important ! If this is the truth, I will still love her .
I wonder why she lipped , just for the fans' clapping or the best of the best performance ! she may lip to create a best pers to us (ayu lovers ). SO, I believe that we needn't to think it so much, don't we ?
Anyway, lipping for experessing is the worst but for the beloved fans is the best !

1, 2 or 3 songs is not a big deal even the greatest singers like M.carey, celine Dion, Whitney Houston in the past, and a lot of others great singers lip-synch during their concerts so ... and for me Ayu isn't a commun singer because she is deaf ! people can say all they want but it must be not easy to concentrate to keep your voice on key on songs with heavy musical accompaniment !

i dont think shes fully singing live i think shes using a backing vocal track

njanjayrp 15th July 2013 02:24 PM

Back from Hiroshima. The show was excellent. The performances were really simple and besides the poll there was nothing really amazing visually. Her vocals were superb 99% of the time and I was stunned. poker face and HONEY had very loud back tracks and her voice seemed too high pitched and it was kinda obvious it w't totally live, but not actually lipped. There were 2 encores and we all sang ayu no koto ayu no koto omouyo (part of me) when she was trying to yell arigatou gozaimashita. Had so much fun!

Yoshiaki 15th July 2013 03:43 PM

Sorry guys... but i find it kinda weird if she lip-synced... I mean, why does she needs to?

If you all are saying that because she is tired as she needs to keep dancing and singing at the same time, that's why she needs to lip-synced... but doesn't sounds too logical (imo)...

I am quite sure that you all have seen those LIVE performances ayu has attended, and some of the vocals are really bad, but she still perform it in her voice... Like one example, when she sang SEASONS during the FNS 2012... unless... lip-synced can only be done in concerts...?

And i also rmb that lip-synced is something that is not being recognised in Japan... Even though their condition may not be good, but they would still performing to their best...

Regarding about Namie... does she always lip-sync? If yes, it also seems weird... cause during her Asia tour, she perform her songs in her sick voice... And if you all saying that because she keep dancing, that's why she needs to lip-sync doesn't seems to be logical also... I've seen her few concerts, like example her 20th Anniversary concert tour, although she keep singing and dancing for 5~7 songs before she change to another outfit, but the dance moves of her is generally lesser... I mean she wouldn't need to do that if she can resort to lip-sync?

SunshineSlayer 15th July 2013 04:17 PM

^ Pretty much nobody said any of that, so I'm confused.

As for no lip synching in Japan though.....AKB and K-POP groups ruined all of that.
