Really? You can tell that much about the production and how it compares to XOXO from a 15 second clip recorded from a TV?

:roflmao

Kind of what I was thinking! XD

This forum really goes to show that people have VERY different tastes than each other! For me, I'm entirely optimistic about this whole project! Everything so far is great to me! (Even though that Sakura Drops cover was so far...I don't know... a little underwhelming? XD)

XOXOs synths kind of took a back seat. It was like the arrangement was muffled. In this track, the arrangement is more in your face and at the forefront while not entirely stealing the show away from the vocal melody.

XOXO was just way too... chirpy, if anyone knows what i mean. It was tinny and overcompressed - the bass on "Movin' on" sounds much more solid.

maururu-roa 7th December 2014 01:40 AM

This is definitely interesting. It sounds like an ayu song, the only thing I'm concerned about is that it sounds a bit overprocessed, but I have to hear the full song in good quality to say for sure. Final Distance is good, Sakura Drops is like flamenco-enka something lol, I really like it!! :D Shiina Ringo sounds like a vocaloid, very bad..... I want to listen to the whole album!! :luv2:luv2

I could actually see her performing it during countdown ;) but chances for that happening are low, kind of risky.

I'd say nonexistent.

This, uh, doesn't touch ANYTHING on Colours. Also confirms my suspicions that most Ayu fans have very.. different tastes in pop music, to say the least.

Was Utada 10 years old when she wrote the lyrics to this song, btw? Jesus.

yeah, hikki melodies are really mellow. I think that makes her music boring for some people, but I like the contrasts.

and idk, I don't see it too risky for her to perform it! It would be really cool to see. I hope she'll be bold and sing it :D

tokyoxjapanxfan 7th December 2014 09:38 AM

She's performed many covers during her concerts, don't see why she couldn't perform this one too. :)

it is Salsa, a latin american rythm (so old like rock n roll)
popular in the whole continent, the guys that make the Sakura cover
are "La banda de la Luz" a japanese salsa band very famous in south american and caribe.

I'm sure she will perform it, she performed every single cover she has ever done, happening here was sung so many times!

There's difference between covers which were her original idea and this one. Yes, she chose the song herself, but she wasn't the one who decided to cover Hikki's song, she just kindly accepted this offer.

tsumekaze_ 7th December 2014 02:39 PM

^ I don't see what kind of difference it makes... I mean, I see your point, but if she accepted it it means that she wants to sing it so why not perform it. It's a cover like the others after all, I believe that the story behind it doesn't really matter. Just my opinion though ^^

Damn she killed it!!! *_* cant stop playing it from last nite hahah

yes she sounded like her debut day but in a good way! really clean and clear her voice! and I love the bass sounded neat!

ii ONna enJIru no wa... this part is the best hahah

i don't like her "oh oh oh" but overall I really like it <3

tsumekaze_ 8th December 2014 04:11 PM

I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!

tenshi no hane 8th December 2014 04:16 PM

It's available on (Japanese) iTunes, but Ayu's song is "album-only". I ain't paying 2100 yen (entire album) when I only want 2 songs (500 yen). Ugh.

If anyone likes enough songs to buy the entire album, could you pretty please share with us?

Pieces_of_SEVEN 8th December 2014 04:17 PM
