Literally nothing about it screams HIKKI IS BACK! to me. Anyone could've released this song. :no

This so much. Like, it's great to hear this song cause it's a new song in a long while but... It's such an okay-ish song, so A ONE-ish.

I am still ansious for the comeback, but this is just not what I was needing to listening from her rn :shrug

I kind of like it. Tbh it reminds me of something Ayaka would do.

I'm not expecting anything to knock me off my feet. This is for a morning drama. It's going to have a different feel.

I wonder what people were expecting for a morning drama song. I know, it's Hikki's comeback, but still, there's a limited range of sounds she could go to fit a TV show airing in the morning.

Her comeback will be her new album as a whole, I think.

And I'm not diggin the japanese titles, I wish she'd stop.

I'm holding off in listening to any previews :headache
I find it funny that people complained about her not coming back fast
enough and now people complain that the song is underwhelming.
What do they say? Beggars can't be choosers.

I'm just so happy that she's back and she looks fantastic. :love

But she's a Japanese singer after all. Not many Japanese singers use English titles.

^ To be honest, the most she can do with a morning drama is maybe FOL style (which sounds more "powerful" than Hanataba wo kimi ni). I don't think powerful ballads like Sakura Negashi would fit in the morning drama.

Btw we need a new thread now :P. Please make it very pretty to celebrate her return :D haha.

I don't know what everybody is on but I liked Hanataba kimi ni much much better than Sakura Nagashi. She always succeeds more when she writes a straight up pop hook, as compared to her 'mood' pieces, like Sakura Nagashi, Be my last, Passion, which were nice but not something I'd wanna listen to all the time.

Holding out for the other single.

Actually, if we were to compare the sound, and not the artists itself, Hanataba wo Kimi ni is reminiscent of Melody. Parts of the chorus of Hanataba has a similar key to the verses of Melody ("Hi ga kureru shunkan no etc."). Also, the overall instrumentation is also similar - piano and the usual jpop blooming strings.

I don't know what to say about the song. It's simple, probably enjoyable for few listens but I hope it has more to it than this.
