Any info with Japanese digital sales charts?

Remember you debuts at #6 on Oricon with 11,000 copies sold. With this Ayu gets her 54th Top 10 album on Oricon, passing Seiko Matsuda, becoming the 2nd artist with the most Top 10 albums.

TXT really came in, charted for two days and pushed her from #5 to #6... I know everyone says sales don't matter but it kinda annoys me that she narrowly missed out on extending her "all her studio albums reached the top 5" streak. Even TROUBLE did so much better...
I have to say things ended up being worse than I expected :/ It's sad but then again, neither she or Avex made an effort to let people know about this release.

Well, 20k in the long run is out of the question now.
This will end up with similar sales than A BALLADS 2 (16k).

Well, it's 2023. For me, physical sales isn't necessarily a sign of public awareness nowadays, so I'm happy to see she has some solid hardcore fanbase who buys her stuff until now.

It does matter in a way that good sales justify who will be allowed bigger budgets within the company. If her sales were strong we would get better pv quality by example.

However in her case, the new album seems more like a way to have new material to go on tour and to release physically all the digital single from past year. The sole promotion for the album was a tv performance from a song released nearly a year ago.

Would've been nice to hit the #5 spot, #6 with 54th Top 10 album is still fantastic

My parcel from mumo/Worldshopping has arrived, sooo excited to crack it open after lunch (even though I'm at work, haha)

I agree. Nowadays her CD are mostly collectible items for the fans. Even digital sales don't mean much, since you can listen to the music on services like Spotify with only subscriptions

Really excited to receive the parcel (even after 25 years) - can anyone translate the passage please? It’s taken from the photo book

From Ayu's Insta :

"Remember you" became the 54th Oricon Top 10 album in history!
This makes the highest number of top 10 albums by a Japanese female artist. I promise you more is coming this 25th anniversary year celebration ✨

Ayu struggled so much with this album, I can't imagine her to write any new music in the near future.

I wouldn't mind cover or tribute album btw

Ruan Borges 1st February 2023 09:13 AM

^ I crave for a cover album. Her covers are always amazing.

summerain 1st February 2023 10:42 AM

I guess she's not referring to new music when she says "more is coming", I always expect new tour / concerts, best albums and special releases like boxes, remix albums, etc.
