Oh sorry I thought you speak about opera voice ^^
But she has already makes an opera-style song "Pride" and it's not me who say that but Ayu herself in an interview in 2006 and this song is perfect IMO of course =)

IYFreak 24th February 2013 08:05 PM

Lol people are so literal on here. I can't.

You don't need an Opera voice to be influenced/inspired by Opera..listen to Koda Kumi's 'Alive', the song is based on a famous Italian Opera song.

I'm posting this here because I don't think it's substantial enough for a thread of its own, but after the snowy kiss PV, I think Ayu needs this T-shirt:

...I've got to admit I'm a little concerned that they're selling T-shirts like that.

I know, but I feel Koda has stronger vocals for those sorts of songs. These days I don't think Ayu could pull off anything like that. Not really saying anything bad about her, just her voice is definitely more suited to other sorts of songs..

@mizuki-7: Pride is a nice example, but I don't think she could pull off that sort of song anymore. If she tried and actually succeeded I wouldn't complain though! She might surprise us all and get vocal training again to regain her PoM voice, which was a real surprise for me to hear - didn't think I'd hear her sing like that live again.

Well, I'd rather her fail at Opera rather than fail at jazz and horrible showtunes again.

I do hope she'd go see some...proper Opera one day.

Phantom is so......whatever.

/elitist.

Minttulatte 25th February 2013 12:15 PM

I can't imagine Ayu as a opera singer so I just think she's just going there for inspiration for another epic concert♥

Zahara 25th February 2013 06:24 PM

Phantom of the Opera isn't an opera.

It's a broadway play, same as Les Mis or Rent. Just because it has the word Opera in there, doesn't make it so guys lol.

Now Carmen, that's an opera.

Evolution7/4 25th February 2013 09:52 PM

Not to mention she has already done songs influenced by Phantom of the Opera (Pride, kiss o kill)

polka-dot-jewel 25th February 2013 10:04 PM

I'm excited to see how this influences her tour. She went to Las Vegas for inspiration for AT10, and that show turned out amazing.

TeamAyu2004 25th February 2013 10:08 PM

LOL.... now that you mention it it does look like that! lol...

Thanks for the clarification. I don't know much about anything stage-related, tbh. Its never really been my thing.

However, you've scared me again. So it was a Broadway...

Evolution7/4 25th February 2013 11:49 PM

^Yes but music from phantom of the Opera is very different from music from Chicago which inspired the jazz songs

TeamAyu2004 26th February 2013 12:13 AM

Blah. A show is a show... and I dont think it was confirmed what show she went to when she did those songs, was it? and if it was I would like to read the original post please.
Opera is completely different from Broadway by the way. And Broadway is Broadway.
just sayin.

mizuki-7 26th February 2013 12:20 AM

I'm so envious, just because you had it! (laugh) So before I self-destruct, let's return to talk about the album. 「Eyes, Smoke, Magic」 and 「the next LOVE」 seem to have musical influences in them.

"I went to see lots of Broadway musicals when I was in London, and also went to dance school. I challenged myself to create choreography for 1 song every 3 days, and I made use of my knowledge of musicals in that too. I have never tried how my voice and songs would sound like in the genre, so during my stay in London, I ordered chorus member Timmy to create songs with requests like "I want a song that feels of this particular scene in this musical". And so these 2 songs were created after nights of discussion and work. I managed to create these because I was in London, and because I had Timmy. The guy whom rumors call my new lover. (lol)"

Bigtop 26th February 2013 12:22 AM

Aren't we supposed to continue talking on the new thread? This is post #558 already!!!
