i thought the concert was amazing. it didn't need any big props or anything--ayu's vocals were great, though she aactually missed a lot of lyrics.

during sunrise she sang a part from sunset :P

she forgot evolution again, etc.

but i don't care :D

memorial address was amazing, count down has become one of my fave songs on the album, i got to hear surreal live, microphone's opening was AMAZING, the dancer's outfits were all really great, don't look back's pre-lude was really cool, and ayu's a best t shirt during lady dynamite was a cool choice :D

now to wait for yoyogi...... haha, so long :P

I'm excited, cause if Sunshine Slayer says her vocals were alright, I'm kind of relieved. I do hope that her vocals won't get worse when the tour continues.
Don't know if I like alterna with Ayu just standing there and STEP you sitting in the champagner glass doing nothing. I normally get bored with something like that, cause Ayu doesn't have the stunning vocals to make up for doing nothing else than singing.
But maybe Ayu surprises me. :)

About the costumes... the Bunny costume is really nice, but the arabic one... I could hardly tell what the arabic outfit was. It's so shiny and more metallic looking than anything, I can't see that much purple. To be honest it doesn't look that good on those pics, I'm a bit sad. But it's just LQ pics, I'll wait and see.^^

And I can understand how Rody! feels actually.. MY STORY's tour was the first tour I ever watched on DVD so it's kinda bad that I use it for a benchmark lol...(sry). It had chains, big dresses, crystals, fountain..the atmosphere before the screen dropped was great. No way im doubting what Misa-chan, SunshineSlayer has said but I too wanted to see what stuff she would create once agian.. Not sure what props NEXT LEVEL tour has but maybe I'll feel better after watching AT09 lol...

But that said, for a Rock concert, I think you'll be so focused on Ayu's singing and the entire pump-your-fist-into-the-air-and-jump atmosphere haha

The only prop in AT09 is a floating chair that is used during NEXT LEVEL. AT09 was very toned down, but IMO it's a very good concert nonetheless. Very well performed and I want my DVD now, haha.

I think the "Giant" aspect of the glass got a bit exaggerated. There are actually three of them - one with Ayu and the other two with dancers, and they are just big enough for someone to sit in.

Oh and for those that asked about the stage - it is the same basic design again, but they really did a good job with theme-ing it up.

Even without the one big thing to top off the concert, I felt the show aspects of this tour were superior to those of 07/08/09. It's lacking the big prop to top it all off (I was waiting for it too) but the show does have lots of other props, effects, and explosions. Trust me, the "show" aspect is not lacking. And its her most cohesive feeling theme in quite a while actually.

Just as long as people don't expect 03-05 vocals. For her current voice I thought the vocals ranged from alright to good and she didn't have any really major out of tune moments like Because of You at CDL.

btw: The pics of the microphone dress aren't really very good - in person the dress is super shiny and sparkling all over. The whole opening/Microphone had a metallic theme and you can't really see that in those pics at all.

Yeah, the red/black is for countdown/memorial address. The black one is for Microphone, but it actually looks more black/silver in real life.

I'm really interested to know more about her vocals this time... did she sing like she did in that SEASONS + Microphone live?

Omg I'm really loving the outfits especially the leather red dress and the Microphone dress (especially after SunshineSlayer mentioned it being shinier than the pic)!

The most fail outfit for me has to be the ballad section one though lol it looks horrible :no

^ It really varied throughout the concert I thought. Sometimes you could say her voice was at the level it was in the Music Station live and at other times she sounded strained/breathless (as Misa-chan mentioned, Last Links in particular and then the other songs that she has been struggling with lately like evolution, Inspire, Because of You (though they sounded at least a bit better than CDL) etc. And then other times it sounded good like in Rainy Day, Ballad, and Memorial Address.

Yeah the rainy day/BALLAD dress isn't very flattering. Look how thin she looks in that count down dress and bunny costume, and in the rainy day one you'd think she's like 10-15 lbs bigger than that.

The ballad dress look good, at least it's not the usual mermaid dress :laugh

I don't like that wig though.

I love the rest of the outfits, they look very very cool. =D

I just got home; I spazzed out a little bit earlier and found a ticket at the last minute for today's performance so I could go again. xD Her vocals tonight were AMAZING, better than last night; About You gave me crazy goosebumps and Memorial Address had me in tears all over again. She lost it during the 'quiet' part before the last chorus and broke down sobbing, and that's when I lost it too. SURREAL was also, surprisingly, extreeeemely good. *tear* I would have to say that overall tonight was even better than last night, and I didn't think yesterday could be topped. The encore was also ridiculously funny, as Jin came out with a stuffed monkey that was attached to its arms (it had velcro on its hands or something) and introduced the monkey as his father, and Jin and Ayu took turns speaking for the monkey and criticizing Jin's ability (or lack thereof) to properly teach the audience the Red Line dance...he screwed up today just like he did yesterday. I can't wait to see the MC collection on this tour DVD. :P

I really can't put into words how much I love this tour...it's my favorite of hers, for sure. Even without big props or what have you. Like SunshineSlayer said, it's so cohesive and everything flows together that I was just so, so impressed. The setlist is bomb, her costumes are amazing, and the whole atmosphere is wonderful. After the abomination that was AT09, this is such a breath of fresh air. You can be sure I'll be going to *both* shows in Yokohama next month, and (if I can) both shows in July at Yoyogi. :luv2

It's bad quality, I just wanted to get a little bit of vocal rather than video to prove my friend they aren't that bad live. Yo! I'm back from a great day two of this tour.

This day was actually better then yesterday. (How the hell..?) The first and best thing of all today was when she nailed BoY. Yesterday she struggles some with the song and kept adjusting her left ear but today there where nothing like that. You guys know the very last word that she screams out and it ends in a multiply eco? Yesterday it was just a very short vibrato thingy but today, maaaan it was a really good tone there. I got goosebumps all over me, she really really nailed BoY today.

Diffrences from yesterday was that Ayu changed hairstyle for the Dlb, INSPIRE and BoY. Yesterday (like the pictures) she had her hair up but today she had the bang and long straight hair in a ponytail just like in evolution in AT09. Also, yesterday when Midori stabbed herself with the night it started to bleed on her dress, today there where no blood. But Shuya did a great job throwing up the blue posion all over the stage to make up for it so I didnt mind. Lol. Also, her vocals was much better this time. All songs improved expect from BALLAD. She actually did a better job on that one yesterday. A thing I enjoyed tonight what that in her long tones where she often uses her vibrato like crazy she didnt do it this time. Not eveytime. She actually kept a straight clean tone all the way though those long times. Coolio and thumbs up for that!

What more? Well yes it was adoreble when Zin came in with the monkey around his arm, calling it his father. Ayu took it from Zin during the dance teaching and moved the monkey like he danced too. Then she spoke for the monkey like he was awesome while Zin wasn't... :P

It still amazes me how good this tour is. I mean, this one is extreeeemly good! I'm so happy to go again in Yokohama! I really can't get enough of this. And I still think BALLAD is my favourite part of the whole thing. Oh but I like THE introduction too. Its just sooo powerful with the music (you know how it goes) and they slowly rises the heavy red curtain... ooooh, it's so epic... I got great chills from that both times! Btw, I'm so in love with Jump! It's one of her best interludes ever imo! In that part the dancers kind of do this dance where they fight against each other. Looks really intence.

Well I shall stop now, it's gonna be way to long othervice. Lol. I will probably write more after the Yokohama concert(s). :P

I was imagining it as a disc that blocked part of the stage out >.< That cylinder is such a good idea and I had wanted Ayu to do something like that. I would say that that is a big prop on its own. Probably as expensive as the ship anyway! The way it is used for Microphone seems really good too! So excited already :D
