“Arashi have forgotten their Johnny’s heart” says TOKIO

TOKIO’s Taichi Kokubun (33) and Shigeru Joshima (39) will be the first Johnny’s seniors to appear on Arashi’s “嵐にしやがれ (Arashi ni Shiyagare)” show on August 21. The two will be teaching Arashi what it means to be a real Johnny’s talent.

Here is a list of the show’s highlights as reported by テレビドガッチ:

- In the rumors talk, Joshima will respond to statements released that no one knows where he lives, and that he goes over-the-top with disguises in public.

- ジャニーズルールを思い出しやがれ! (Remember your Johnny’s rules!). Kokubun and Joshima will teach Arashi about how to call their Johnny’s seniors, and to write their names on their underwear.

- ジャニーズ料理作りやがれ! (Cook Johnny’s meals!). TOKIO’s gourmet king Kokubun will have a fried rice making competition with Arashi’s Jun Matsumoto. Hattori Nutrition College president and food commentator Yukio Hattori will be the competition’s judge.

- ジャニーズゲームしやがれ! (Play Johnny’s games!). Arashi and TOKIO will compete with one another in a series of variety show games Johnny’s talents have played in the past. This includes ‘guess the Johnny’s song’ and ‘giant balloon explosion’ games.

arashi has sold about 125k this week, making them #1 for 2 weeks in a row! total sales: 856,000 :cool

This is the first time their studio albums achieved two consecutive weeks at number 1 as I don't recall past albums of theirs were able to do that

I look at their past albums sales , it's quite ... depressing :laugh

it's quite shocking that albums that I really enjoyed listening to like One , ARASHIC barely scrapped though in terms of sales :O

I bet if JStorm re-release them , they will sell well again haha

it's quite amazing to track Arashi's journey. i mean, their 2nd week album sales would be their 1st week back in like, 2003, 2004, etc. and 150k would be their overall sales. :tired

Nobel prize winner praises Arashi’s Sho Sakurai

Arashi’s Sho Sakurai (28) traveled to Moscow to meet a former head of state and to the Berlin wall as part of his special report for Nippon TV’s 24Hr TV, reports Sports Hochi.

Sakurai’s special, titled “嵐・櫻井翔が緊急リポート！　世界の貧困と格差社会の現実～マンホールで暮らす人々とは～ (Arashi - Sho Sakurai’s Breaking News! The reality of global poverty and social disparity ~people who live in manholes~ )” sent him to Moscow to interview Nobel Peace Prize winning former head of state Mikhail Gorbachev (79).

Mr Gorbachev is widely known as the man whose actions lead to the end of the Cold War around the late 1980s, early 1990s. After Mr Gorbachev heard Sakurai had been interviewing a wide range of people in different places for his “NEWS ZERO” series “世界平和への祈り (Sekai Heiwa heno Inori, A Prayer for World Peace)” over the past year, the nobel prize winner applauded Sakurai for his efforts.

“I am very happy to meet a responsible person like you.

“I hope more and more people will be able to think not only about themselves, but also about the suffering the people around them are going through, and want to help them,” he said.

After Sakurai had introduced himself in Russian, Mr Gorbachev pushed aside Sakurai’s prepared notes.

“I want to hear about your opinions,” he told a confused Sakurai.

The interview went on for more than 30 minutes, during which the two talked about poverty, economic instability, and peace operations.

It has been reported Sakurai was still shaking after his interview.

“It was an incredible priviledge to have met a person I watched on the news as a young boy,” he said.

His latest adventure had sent him reporting from Moscow to the Berlin wall, and to Romania.

“It’s been 20 years since the Cold War ended. How has the world changed. I hope I can make people in Japan think about how one person’s situation can affect others,” he said.

Because I subscribe to CDJapan's mailing list (for many artistes that I chose for CDJapan to send me updates for upcoming releases) & etc , I received this earlier on

Hello!

I'm sending you this email because you are subscribed to Arashi New
Release Mail.

Yesterday, we sent you an email about "Dear Snow" the new single from
Arashi, and I would like to let you know how we processed the
information this time.

Normally, we would open preorders for new releases right away, as soon
as we receive details.

We would inform people about it on our website and then by New Release
Mail.

However, with the past few Arashi releases, CDJapan website always
went down temporarily, because our server was overwhelmed each time as
so many people worldwide as well as in Japan rushed over to CDJapan
and our Japanese website in order to preorder the Limited Edition.

Upgrading the server could not meaningfully improve the situation,
because it was just too overwhelming.

Most people were kind enough to understand the situation, but it was
nevertheless a very inconvenient situation for everyone involved.

In order to effectively prevent our website from going down, we needed
to think of priorities in how we are to inform people about the new
Arashi release.

So, what we did yesterday was to send the New Release Mail before we
informed people about the release in any other way, including our
website.

Our decision is based on our wish and desire to recognize and treat
customers who are subscribed first.

I know that this might not seem fair for people who are not
subscribed, but the purpose was to make our website withstand the
preorder so that at least people are not inconvenienced by our website
going down.

Also, you might have experienced confusion when you visited the page
from the link we included in the New Release Mail yesterday, as there
was no way to get to the page other than from that link.

By the way, there are greater number of people subscribed than the
number of the Limited Edition that the record company is able to provide.

So, you may continue to have the same difficulties trying to preorder
Limited Editions from Arashi, but I hope that you will find the
situation somewhat better from now on.

Please note that Arashi is the only artist that we would handle this way.

Also, the regular edition is still available.

haha HMV Japan uses EMS only

but anyway 5music uses registered airmail & just like for EMS , for both registered airmail & EMS articles , if you're or a family member's not at home , then the postman will leave you an invoice outside of your door & you have to collect the article the next day at the post office

I've to admit, that I'm really looking forward to "Dear Snow" (even when the title would be more suitable for a winter-single! ;)). First of all, the title is really beautiful and it's the song for Nino's new movie "Ôku".
I SOOOOO want to watch this movie. I'm far more excited for this movie than for "Gantz", maybe because I LOVE samurai so much. ;)

Okay, maybe Arashi's popularity seems to mean that for this specific artist it's just too overwhelming and puts a lot of strain, compared to Ayu where it's a bit more nimble and not so overwhelming...

Okay, so wait a minute, even before Love Rainbow is even released Arashi's releasing another single?! I mean, what's going on with their schedule!?

(At least it is OUT of Ayu's way - Arashi's releasing a single on September 8th, then Ayu releases one on the 22nd, then the 29th, then the week after that Arashi's releasing yet another single?! Man, both Ayu and Arashi sure are having some busy times as of now! Arashi's schedule, however, is sure enough the right fit, not forcing them to break Ayu's streak, as maybe many are highly anticipating Ayu's record-breaking attempt...

So this means the single count for Arashi this year would be five by October?)
