slightly lower than hatenai sora, but still amazing & high! :P yay arashi! i didn't expect any less, lol.

ok the B-sides from Lotus have grown on me quite a fair bit :p but if you compare against the ones that're found in Hatenai Sora , they're still considerably weaker

still , the songs are quite listener friendly at the end of the day

Lotus has grown on me so much! I originally only listened to hear to hear Nino and Ohno's "ah ah ah ah~"s lol
man, Arashi is so crazy successful now! Lately, I am totes smitten by Nino lol

it will cross 400K by today which's a good thing & of course they will performing at MUSIC STATION in about 12 hours later or so

since TV asahi/youtube has been blocking MS performances since the beginning of this year, i really hope someone will upload arashi's performance on youtube! i need to see it! :weep even if it's mirrored, i don't care! lol. i'm so desperate. :laugh

I know TV Asahi has a YouTube account, and eventually those blocked MS performances get deleted from the server, then the uploaders get suspended...

Kuwata Keisuke receives kisses from Matsumoto Jun and aiko!

On February 25th, singer Kuwata Keisuke (55) made his first appearance on Music Station since his recovery from esophagus cancer. To congratulate him, Arashi’s Matsumoto Jun (27) and singer-songwriter aiko (35) each kissed him on a cheek at the start of the show!

Kuwata performed two tracks on the show from his new album, “Musicman“.

During his battle with cancer, the singer says he often wrote lyrics to distract himself. He joked, “I tried really hard to come up with lyrics in the CT scan, but I got nothing.”

Arashi’s “Lotus” tops Oricon Weekly Chart

Arashi’s 35th single “Lotus” has sold 541,000 copies in its first week, making it number one this week on Oricon’s Weekly Single Ranking.

“Lotus” is Arashi’s 24th consecutive first place single since “PIKA★★NCHI DOUBLE”, which was released in February 2004, and is their 31st overall. Arashi has held their first place position for eight consecutive years.

“Lotus” is also the theme song for the drama “Bartender” which, Arashi member, Aiba Masaki stars in.

Arashi’s secrets will be revealed on this week’s “Himitsu no Arashi-chan”

On the March 3rd episode of Arashi’s hit variety show, “Himitsu no Arashi-chan“, the singers will reveal secrets they’ve kept from even their own group members!

The guest in the segment called “VIP Room” will be singer-songwriter aiko, and she will talking about the real life experiences behind her three most popular singles. In addition, she asks the Arashi members to reveal a secret they’ve never told anyone before.

In the segment “Mannequin Five“, the members of Arashi will compete with actors Sato Ryuta and Shinagawa Hiroshi to coordinate the ultimate outfit with the theme of “Jeans”.

The episode will air at 10 PM on Thursday night in Japan (noon on Thursday, EST).

Cast of Ohno Satoshi’s “Kaibutsu-kun” is now in India!

Arashi’s Ohno Satoshi (30), along with the rest of the cast of “Kaibutsu-kun“, are currently in India shooting their upcoming movie. The movie, which is due to be released in the winter, is already attracting the attention of many fans.

The drama “Kaibutsu-kun” aired this past spring on NTV, and the cast will return for a 3D movie which follows the Kaibutsu-kun and gang’s adventure when they wander into the Curry Kingdom. The cast and staff are currently in a city called Jaipur in Northwest India filming scenes. They are also joined by the staff of the Academy Award winning movie “Slumdog Millionaire,” receiving some “Oscar power.”

Ohno Satoshi commented, “It’s the perfect place for the setting of the movie. I had curry for almost every meal but it’s very good,” sharing his experience in India.

The cast will also welcome Kamikawa Takaya (45) and Kitamura Kazuki (41) for the shooting of the movie. Although we don’t know what kind of role they will be playing, it is sure that the movie will be something to look forward to. Ohno Satoshi shared his anticipation by saying, “The scale of the movie is big, so I’m excited!”

1) Satoshi Ohno to host NHK art show

Arashi’s Satoshi Ohno (30) will host and navigate a show exploring the world of Japanese artist Ito Jakuchu (1716 – 1800) starting in April, it was revealed today, reports Mainichi Shimbun Digital.

It has been reported “Jakuchu Miracle World” will be a four-night series on NHK’s BS Premium channel. By using the latest technology and high definition visual images, the show will break down and analyse what made Edo-period artist Jakuchu’s work so unique. As an artist himself, Ohno will venture into this world and navigate around it from his point-of-view.

“I’ve hardly ever done anything like hosting or navigating a show by myself. I’m usually the one who gets picked on and things go off from there so I’m looking forward to seeing what kind of me comes out in this show,” he said.

Ohno himself has already opened his own exhibition, “FREESTYLE”, in 2008. The exhibition had toured around five cities in Japan, attracting more than 100,000 visitors. It has been reported this was one of the reasons he had been chosen as the show’s host.

The Arashi singer had said he had been interested in Jakuchu’s art for the last five years thanks to a friend.

“I really love drawing. Every inch of Jakuchu’s pictures are complete to the fullest it can be, and you can see how much of him is in everything.”

It has been reported even during breaks Ohno would be seen staring at replicas of Jakuchu’s work, mumbling, “I wonder what kind of person he was”.

“Jakuchu Miracle World” will go on air on NHK from April 25 to 28.

2) Kaibutsu-kun Satoshi Ohno enjoying India

Arashi’s Satoshi Ohno (30) said he enjoyed his curry adventure in India while filming his upcoming Kaibutsu-kun movie, reports Daily Sports Online and Nikkan Sports.

Based on the manga and TV drama series “怪物くん (Kaibutsu-kun)”, the movie’s story will follow Kaibutsu-kun (Ohno) and his friends as they travel from his Kaibutsu land to Japan. But instead of going to Japan, the four of them end up in the Land of Curry, and get mistaken as legendary warriors.

Filming took place in northern India city Jaipur for a week from February 15, and scenes were shot around several tourist attractions.

“Everything was new to me and I had fun. The scenery was really pretty, and I thought it was the best location for this movie’s worldly potential,” Ohno said.

Although the cast and crew ate curry for every meal, Ohno said he enjoyed the experience.

“Every meal was curry, but there were so many flavors and degrees of spiciness so I was alright! It was nice and spicy,” he said.

It has been reported locals were surprised at Ohno’s large Kaibutsu-kun ears, and kept asking staff whether they were real, and why Ohno’s costumes were so brightly-coloured.

Johnny’s Entertainment (the agency for popular idol groups SMAP, TOKIO, Arashi, KAT-TUN, and NEWS, amongst many others) is famous for enforcing a strict “no photo” online policy for their artists. Even the official websites for dramas and movies typically lack cast photos for a Johnny’s actor.

Until recently, Johnny’s artists were either seen as cartoons or silhouettes; some were even missing altogether. However, on February 28th, the ban on photos from the agency’s official website, “Johnny’s net“, was finally lifted. Fans were surprised to see that profile pics and album covers from their artists were uploaded onto the website.

With the advent of internet technology preventing pictures from being easily copied, it seems that the company felt comfortable enough to loosen its stance. Drama and television sites are now also allowed limited usage of Johnny’s artist photos.

One reporter remarked, “Johnny’s artist photos are still banned on internet news sites, where security is lacking, but foreign sites outside of the agency’s power use face photos freely. Eventually, they will have to allow the use of these photos on Japanese news sites as well.”

A cameraman for an idol magazine also revealed, “Johnny’s Entertainment even prevents photos from being sent through e-mail. So when pictures taken for magazines need to be confirmed, they have to be delivered by bike. It was inefficient and expensive. Arashi’s Sakurai Sho to star in new Aflac CM alongside a “blue duck”

Sakurai Sho, one of the famed members of the idol group Arashi, will be lending his star power to a good cause by appearing in a new line of CMs for Aflac alongside one of its new characters, “Aoi Duck” (“blue duck”). The new character is inspired by the image of a blue bird of happiness, and is sure to catch the attention of many alongside the famous actor and singer.

The new Aflac campaign will promote new products (insurance) and features of support and security for life after the treatment of cancer. The new products will be released on March 22nd, with the commercial airing starting on March 14th.

Sakurai hopes to create more awareness about the support mechanisms available to those undergoing treatments for cancer, and the blue duck aims at creating a certain kind of comfort in providing help to those who need it.

naive’s new CM starring Arashi’s Ohno Satoshi, “Protect! Introducing Skin Amino” will air starting today.

In the CM, Ohno and a few children are dressed up as the “Skin Amino Protection Corps”, and in the micro world, they frantically run around catching the skin amino in tubs to protect you.

2) Arashi’s Ninomiya Kazunari gives a handmade cake to Matsuyama Kenichi

On March 10th, the main cast of “GANTZ PERFECT ANSWER” held a theatre greeting for the Japanese premiere of their film at the Tokyo International Forum.

Arashi’s Ninomiya Kazunari planned a special surprise for Matsuyama Kenichi, by bringing out a handmade birthday cake for the star! Matsuyama had turned 26 years old on March 5th. Although Ninomiya celebrated his birthday a little belatedly, he continued a tradition of giving Matsuyama a cake.

Matsuyama was moved, “I was really surprised. I never thought something like that would happen here. He is really different from other stars”. Ninomiya replied with a huge smile on his face, “When I was making the cake, I noticed that filming the movie took a really long time . This is the first time I’ve made a cake for a co-star two times in a row. This is my “perfect answer””.

The boys stood in front of their audience and expressed their hopes for the movie’s success. Ninomiya cheered,, “We’ve put a lot of thoughts and love into this movie. So, I hope that you all like this “answer””. Meanwhile, Matsuyama smiled, “I like the Japan Premiere in which we can share enjoyment with a lot of people. So, I was looking forward for this.”.

“GANTZ PERFECT ANSWER” will be shown nation-wide on April 23rd.

in line with this afternoon's 8.9 earthquake that took place in Japan , a VS ARASHI staff member tweeted that all the members are safe which's a relief to know so :O

But I'm not sure how the future of "Bartender" will go, especially after the earthquake...

really? i follow an arashi updater, and they said aiba's family home is safe & it was just a rumor....
but i'm not sure about Bartender. if the whole set got destroyed or something, i'm gonna be so sad. :(

Like I said, I'm not sure if the news are true, but I'm really happy that Aiba's home seem to be safe. But I think there are still parts of Chiba, which are on fire...

I think it's best to just wait and see until the rumours get confirmed. Freaking out about this stuff will help nobody.

The set is really not so important, the people are and if they're okay, we should be happy!

^ About Aiba's house...it's NOT true!
It has been confirmed by their neighbours that his family home is alright.

The set of "Bartender" on the other hand is pretty damaged, but all the actors and crew working on the drama seem to be alright, luckily!

a VS ARASHI staff member did confirmed that everyone's safe from the quake , with the exception on what happened to Aiba

they will be fine anyway , I'm sure they will be & wouldn't surprise me if later on Arashi no Shiyagere will not be aired :O

shiyagare is taped, though. but right now the news of this earthquake should come first. not arashi this time, lol. :P
