I'm completely floored and awed at everything that is being released in the All About Girls' Generation "Paradise in Phuket" set. I never expected all of this stuff to be included. It was well worth the wait and the price is awesome, especially considering that another photobook is included in addition to the DVDs. I also love how English subtitles are going to be included so it's going to be so much more enjoyable to understand everything they are saying. This is the ultimate set for any SONE! After buying two versions of their Japanese album, I'm so glad that this is going to be released on my birthday so someone else can buy this for me, lol. My mom said she's going to preorder it this week for me so I'm super excited!

I do agree with you about straying so much from the original composition of a song to market it to a broader audience. Sometimes I like for the originals to be left as is for the most part, hence why I typically don't like remixes or listen to them. But it is interesting to hear different versions of a song because sometimes they turn out awesome. :)
Anyways, my mom preordered Girls' Generation - All About Girls' Generation "Paradise in Phuket" 6DVD + Photobook set last night for my birthday! I can't wait to get it! I didn't know about SNSD in the beginning of their career so to be able to experience seeing them in the early stages of the career is a real treat! :) |

^As much as I would rather have newer songs rather than remakes of their older songs, I would definetely love it if they released a Japanese version of Oh!, especially the demo version! It also makes me wish that they released the demo version of Genie in Japanese too rather than the original version!
I received my posters in the mail this morning (the ones that come with the limited pressing and deluxe limited edition versions of their album) and I absolutely love them! They are so gorgeous, I can't pick which one I like better! I can't wait to receive the albums in the mail! They should arrive next week so I'm super excited! |

Sooyoung + food = love Run Devil Run: hm at first I thought they're fully lipsyncing, but after listening to Tae, Jess, and Seohyun's ad libs and Hyo's parts, it seems that the bg vocals were, as usual, too loud. And I heard some doubled voice here and there. Or they're doing it on purpose for some members, idk. I'm loving the outfit and the hairstyles though. I love Seohyun's hairstyle. Taeyeon seems to be liking that Samurai hairstyle these days |

the RDR performance was okay but it looks like they just took the same outfits they wore in some RDR performances in 2010 out of a dusty closet to wear for that new performance. some of the outfits are all wrinkled etc and Yuri's is baggy on her from her weight loss. cheapness from their company as per usual :rolleyes |
^Well, it's somehow understandable since they can't buy new outfits for all of the girls every time they promote. It's more effective to use the money for other things (maybe that's why their album songs are much better than usually xD).
+ for passing 300k. Somehow I'm glad that they've already recycled nearly all of their hit singles except Oh, since that means we'll get only (or maybe nearly only) new songs in future. I like the album, but since I enjoy the remade content more in Korean, it's rather tiring to listen to the whole album. |
^I'm pretty sure it's just them being cheap. SNSD makes them enough money for them to at least buy Yuri fitted outfits for her new body, but they won't even do that.

I'm not a new SNSD fan, but I only have their single songs and the Japanese album. Am I missing out on any really good album tracks from them? I realized I might be since I think the Japanese album tracks are SO good.

^They do have some gems from their album/mini album tracks but I think with this Japanese album it's their first album where they have all of their album tracks be extremely strong. Their last full Korean album had a lot of filler tracks imo and their first one had a few as well. Their ballads are probably the strongest though. From their album/mini album tracks I'd recommend these if you haven't heard them:

^^Well it is interesting but I think it'd be kind of unfair to compare sales in Japan and Korea, because the expected sales rate from the two countries are very different. Tbh, singers in Korea doesn't sell much anymore, in terms of physical album sales (especially) and digital sales. Music in Korea is very very discounted to the point where singers can't even provide their living from their music releases profits. Korean music industry used to have its glory when a singer selling hundred thousands of cds is a usual thing, but in the past decade the industry had been deteriorating, with the improvement of technology and all.
Besides, sales counting system in Korea is pretty curious, since there are some charts that count album sales, unlike Japan that only has Oricon chart that'd count all of the sales from every store. From what I know, Hanteo only counts sales from music stores, while Gaon covered sales from like supermarket sales too (like if you ever buy cd in Korean version of Wallmart lol). So if you ever seen any differences of sales between this or that chart it's because their system are a tiny bit different. One artist may have topped Hanteo chart, but it doesn't really mean that they sold more cd (in the whole nation) than the runner up in the chart, because maybe the runner up tops the other chart, lol. These days, idols are like the only kind who can sells many physical albums, but even if I said it's many, it's very different compare to sales in Japan, because in Korea selling 10k of physical album is already counted as good sales since people really doesn't buy cd there anymore, and because of that there are not much record shops in Korea. Well people still buy music digitally, but the prices are so low compared to digital music price in other countries. That's why idols do many things aside from performing to gain income. To be quite frank, it was only male idols that could have sales as much as 100k (because of the huge number of fans), but Soshi has break the record and be the first girl group that always pass 100k mark with their albums (ITNW single only sold like 40k before but it's already an amazing achievement really). And they got the Golden Disk Award Disk Daesang for Oh!, which is an award solely based on physical album sales, and break another record being the first girl group to get that award. And if someone are arguing about this with Hanteo number, well as I said before, maybe they didn’t see the other charts because for Oh! case, they have huge sales from department stores too, which indicate that public (like casual music listeners, ordinary family members, etc) are buying the album too, not only fans. These days 2NE1 is going strong and their sales are very good too. Maybe it's even safe to say that only Soshi and 2NE1 could sell that much album for female singers, since BoA had been MIA for too long :/ I agree with all of the songs that love in music recommended. ^^^lol yeah physical album sales deterioration happens all over the world, with the improvement of technologies like internet and all, people prefer to buy only songs they wanted from itunes than to buy the whole album just to listen to some of the songs. But at least in Japan, even though singers don't sell millions of physical albums anymore (with an exception of some artists, of course), singers still manage to live with their sales, unlike in Korea.
Music industry in Korea is having a hard times, with only idols and trot singers that manage to sell, many other singers (that are not categorized in both terms) struggle to survive, with very little amount of income, because tv stations prioritize idols and trot singers to perform, and moreover with the increasing case of piracy.
