Maybe the fact we can't agree on which songs sounds like another proves her songs don't sound as alike as we all may think? I think her previous songs make a great impact on her newer works but they don't necessarily sound alike.

I remember when Until that day... came out everyone was comparing it to evolution for the simple fact that the singing style is similar (the super fast ranting). SEASONS and Life I didn't understand too much for a while but those comparisons were also being thrown around - and then one day I realized when I had Life in my head, SEASONS would take over. I think it's the beginning of both chorses that sound the same. That first line in the chorus's.

But no way is SEASONS Virgin Road. I cannot stand Virgin Road and it's completely different feeling than SEASONS. VR is too slow to be SEASONS. I also think Life and SEASONS compliment each other nicely and they both are "Spring" songs (I listen to music according to weather and season and during Spring it's always SEASONS, Life, RAINBOW).

Releasing formulaic singles for the sake of keeping her mainstream status is different from guiding every step of her career based on what fans think she should or shouldn't do... No wonder people complains so much she "lost her spark" or some **** like that... And her formulaic singles aren't for fans in the end of the day, they are aimed to casual listeners who doesn't care about her most obscure releases...

We for sure have some similar songs on her discography... But it's nice to see that among her more than 130 songs, we have some similarities here and there, instead of the same hit single being released over and over again under a different title... if we ignore some of her winter singles, some of her summer singles, and some of her concert ending songs (what would be +- 3 songs per era, and still not in every era), it's hard to say that every Ayu song sound like each other... What's different from some artists who like to focus their releases on what they fans expect them to do...

I have a feeling that since this is a mini album it's going to sell like 150 k and usually when she drops sales like that its hard for her to recoverand her albums might start selling like that like when guilty sold 500k and then next level sold 370 k it never recovered or when heaven sold 300k and then bold and delicious sold 100k and none of her singles ever sold 200k

lower sales are expected, yes. don't be too worried about it. she is still V.I.P. in Japan!

Not a chance I can do that, but I'm not going to watch the short versions of these 5 PVs. I always end up with unfulfilled expectations when I watch the short versions, so I'm going to wait.

Side note: I really, REALLY hope that FIVE is put up on international iTunes stores right away. ayu-mi-x 7 was put up on the US store pretty much the same day it was released in Japan, and that was fantastic! I really hope that's going to be how things are done from now on, and not just a one-time deal.

I've always tried to do it this way. Heard previews of MY STORY in the CMs the songs were featured in but I was pleasantly surprised by the full versions since the previews of my name's WOMEN and About You totally sucked but the full versions were GOLD. (miss)understood I listened to every damn leak and that really left me feeling empty when I received the album finally. More often than not I don't listen to previews or if I do cave I might listen once. But it feels so good when I don't hear any previews.

Love songs and GUILTY I think are the only albums I did not hear ANY PREVIEWS FOR at all or listen to leaked/released promotional tracks/PVs until I got my copy/until the album was officially released. Secret I heard the previews for the promotional video tracks from the CM a few days beforehand (I managed to never hear JEWEL in full until I got my CD though).

This. I love GREEN and it's thematic ties to Days - both videos show a reality that cannot be achieved by the persona (lack of a better word) Ayu is portraying. I also agree over Lady Dynamite just being a fun video in a different vein to her other fun videos. I feel the video would get much less crap thrown at it if it was a regular nightclub, which is really disheartening.

It's not like they're "gay themed" either, I'd put GREEN in the same category as Days, part of Me and maybe even BALLAD as an "unreachable love" video.

Ayu's gay PVs are better than her straight ones.

Yes song is boring definitely but there is one small part in the song that sounds SO GOOD. It's the part that goes

the pre-cursor to the chorus. OMG that part I love it's got that "fierce" feeling a lot of the best songs have but it only lasts a short while and this little piece is not enough to save the song.
