I'm going to see FictionJunction! I got my ticket before the server crash!

moonfesta CM

THE SONG, THE PV, THE COVERS, EVERYTHING! I love it!

This is the TV Version with Minna no Uta video of moonfesta.

http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XNDA3MDQ5NDMy.html

EDITED:
If you check their official website, you can see a different segment of the PV, new photoshoot for new single, and covers, in small resolution.

Yet I have to edit the post again, those are the covers in bigger resolution.
Considering this is a song for children, well, just look at the covers...

Also, a new song from FictionJunction called distance.
Quote:

The Gundam Seed HD Remaster website announced that FictionJunction is going to sing a new song, titled 「distance」, used as Ending Theme for the anime . The song will debut on the episode airing June 22, 2012. It is not clarified yet if there will be a single or an album release for the song.

Chiharo 14th June 2012 12:28 PM

I love everything from the new single too! The song sounds so amazing and I can't wait for the whole single to leak. Too bad I can't preorder it because I won't be here to receive the single. Oh well, I'll get it next time. The covers are great, I love what they did to them. Now I can't wait to hear the sample of the b-side. Wonder how that is going to sound like.

CHE.R.RY 16th June 2012 06:58 PM

The song sounds nice :)! I'll be looking forward to the single!

Yoake 16th June 2012 11:13 PM

thanks for sharing the CM. The covers are nice & It's great to have another style for one time. My favourite is the regular one. The pv seems to have a nice decoration but if there is no more things than Kalafina singing there, it'll be as the most of her pv: boring.

mellody 21st June 2012 07:11 PM

Full PV for moonfesta, I ripped it from somewhere, the quality isn't that good.

http://www.mediafire.com/?kj4cgw8mrl8lgtu

I don't expect much for the PV but... THE FULL SONG IS AMAZING.

It's somewhat like a mix between Hikari no Senritsu and storia, I love all the parts, especially the interlude, brings so much happiness. I think I could listen to this song forever together with Hikari no Senritsu.

Chiharo 21st June 2012 09:32 PM

^I so agree with you. I wanted them to do another folk song and this one is perfect. Can't wait for the single.

Yoake 22nd June 2012 07:55 PM

Thanks for sharing. Moonfesta is stunning but the pv is boring once again. If only they included something else, maybe children doing something as it's a song for a children show.

adantatu2 29th June 2012 06:37 AM

I love moonfesta, it sounds different but with that Kalafina unique style!
The pv is OK, i love them in white dresses

Yoake 16th July 2012 10:10 PM

Hey Guys, we totally forgot about the ending of GS. Here is the TV version of Distance sing by FictionJunction.

Distance sounds beautiful. I hope we'll have some news about it soon.

~~~~
屋根の向こうに is a nice song. I totally love moonfesta single. both songs are great.
Yoake 17th July 2012 04:53 PM
Distance single will be release at 08/29.
Tracklist:
1. Distance
2. eternal blue (theme of Senritsu no Stratus game)
milky_way 21st July 2012 05:59 AM
Anyone have HQ After Eden covers?
mellody 21st July 2012 06:47 AM
Maybe this is HQ enough?
Anyway, Yane no Mukou ni from Moonfesta is awesome! Never expected that from Kalafina.
milky_way 21st July 2012 04:05 PM
Thank you!! :D
Flame Sniper 30th July 2012 11:49 PM
Last weekend was Kalafina's concert in Germany (actually they hold two, on friday and saturday). It was my very first live expierence of a japanese band at all and I was very excited the whole time ^^
The concert was part of the Animagic Convention so most songs were Anime tie-in's. I almost cried when they started of with my favourite song and I'm very impressed with their live vocals! Especially Wakana's :heart
They also talked a little between a couple of songs and even spoke German with us. So cute and they did pretty well ^^
This was the setlist of both concerts (I hope my memory is correct :D ):
1. Manten
2. Magia
3. Kagayaku Sora no Shijima ni wa
4. Lacrimosa
5. Kimi ga hikari ni kaete yuku
6. oblivious
7. Kyrie
8. Ongaku
9. to the beginning
Encore:
sprinter
adantatu2 31st July 2012 06:42 AM
^wow, i'm jealous
nice tracklist
Yoake 31st July 2012 01:31 PM
Really so lucky you are! >.<
If only the JEB/MIA organizers could invite them too!!
Was there an autograph session after the concert?
Corvina 31st July 2012 04:47 PM
Ok, I’m back from the AnimagiC convention with Kalafina as well.
They did two 1 hour concerts Friday and Saturday evening.
I attended on Friday.
Cause of the concert being directly after, they didn’t appear at the opening ceremony, but they showed a short film message.
It was their first time being in Europe und their first concerts here.
The concert started with a short introduction movie, nothing spectacular, just pics and their names.
Setlist (like Flame Sniper already posted):
Spoiler:
1. Manten
2. Magia
3. Kagayaku Sora no Shijima ni wa
4. Lacrimosa
5. Kimi ga hikari ni kaete yuku
6. oblivious
7. Kyrie
8. Ongaku
9. to the beginning
Encore:
sprinter
Of course almost all from Animes.
On the big screen in the background they showed excerpts of the Animes or just some colorful effects.
In between the songs they spoke to us and they tried to do the main part in German with reading from notes.
They made fun of their German pronunciation, though Wakana was actually really, really good!
At one point they asked us what’s our favourite dessert, so random. XD
They were standing most of the time in their typical three line, doing some arm choreography.
Though at the end they jumped and celebrated with us, waving hands and smiling
They wore red and black dresses, pretty similar to those from the to the beginning CD photoshoot.
It was great fun, although there were some minor audio problems here and there, at least on my side.
Their vocals were great as much as I could hear!
So far the good thing.
Everything else was sadly pretty bad for me.
First of all there wasn’t a booth at the con to buy CDs and merchandise or at least get some information about them.
Not even a single poster or official photos anywhere at the area, but it was like that with every music guest, so it’s still ok.
Frustrating enough, they just sold CDs at the signging event after each concert and just who bought a CD got a signature.
On Friday we decided not to go to it, cause we thought it would be too full already after the concert (and it was, there were people send away).
On Saturday we went there 1 hour earlier as we already saw it. There was a queue already, but we still were near to the door to the signing room.
It filled and filled after us, there were hundreds of people waiting at the end. But Kalafina didn’t show up…
After another half an hour everybody got the information that there are only 60 CDs left to buy!
And that’s it… there was a big uproar, but the organizer didn’t know as well until Kalafina’s management told them.
So they counted the people…and just about another half an hour later Kalafina showed up. They stayed for, well, not more than 10-15 minutes and vanished at once after that.
Even though my friends and I were near the front we didn’t get anything. You can tell how disappointed and angry we were just like anybody else!
The management didn’t even apologize! I mean, ok, maybe they did underestimate the popularity of their stars, but heck, they had to check before that there were just a few CDs left!
Or stating before that everybody is able to buy just one CD. Let fans wait for 2 hours for nothing and not even apologize...man!
Also the management treated Keiko, Wakana and Hikaru like porcelain dolls. It wasn’t allowed to do any photos, (which is absolutely ok for the concert).
But not even when they came out on the area on Saturday to make some photos before the big Beethoven statue.
They were always surrounded by a bunch of strict staff.
It was ridiculous especially compared to the other Japanese guests who were wandering through the fans without being bothered, making photos and being happy.
E.g. Kanako Ito, the other JPop artist, was so open minded and charming just like the two people from her staff. I’ve got a personal photo, a shirt and a signature! :)
CDs were sold out for her as well on Sunday at the panel, but they made up for it with being so friendly and offering something different.
Kalafina did two Q&A panels as well, but we didn’t visit. So I don’t know, maybe they were a bit fan-friendlier and more openly there.
And I don’t know if anybody of the German fans asked them about the incident on Saturday. Would have been interesting to hear.
Surprisingly we were allowed to make photos of them at the final ceremony (wearing some beautiful white dresses).
But the batteries of my camera were low and my friend refused to do any photo after what happened. So I’m sorry, I don’t have any photos to share with you. :(
At the final ceremony they said they want to come again.
So I guess we hear and see some more of them in Europe in the future.
I enjoyed the concert, but I’m pretty disappointed by everything around them.
I won’t buy the albums I’m still missing anytime soon from CDJapan or YesAsia out of protest.
Maybe some time later when I’m not that disappointed anymore.
Though I'm absolutely happy to have seen them live, it was great! :)
EDIT:
There was a report about their stay and the concerts on Mezamashi TV this morning.
Take a look here:
Sorry for double posting, but there was a report about their stay and the concerts on Mezamashi TV this morning.
Take a look here:
http://blog.livedoor.jp/atsutomoblog...s/1724395.html
When we were waiting in line on Saturday, some german staff asked who wants to give interviews for japanese TV.
So now we know for what they used it. :D
Keiko also made a blogpost about her time in Germany today:
http://blog.oricon.co.jp/kalafina/archive/669/0
If I understand her right, all three albums will be released in Europe!
Yoake 10th August 2012 11:03 PM
Thanks for your report Corvina. Pretty sad for the CD. They're really nice to speak in German.^^
At least, Kalafina seems happy. Hope they'll come back in Europe, maybe for a concert tour.^^
Why do you think this cover is not pretty???
isthisLOL? 2nd October 2012 07:37 PM
The image composition is bland(centralized character on white background, nothing else), the drawing style very basic and I personally don't like the character design. It would be good as one frame in an anime(given a background was added), but not as single cover imo.
The other covers are a bit better.
Aderianu 2nd October 2012 08:41 PM
^ I agree. that's profile picture, not cover
Yoake 20th October 2012 06:13 PM
OMG Hikari Furu is AMAZING, no that word even is too weak to describe it. I got goosebumps listening to it. It's a long time I haven't felt like that.
Mirai is great too.
It's me or Magia quattro sound darker than the original one ? Totally love it.
edit: pv here: http://kalafinacol.blogspot.com/2012...kari-furu.html
Also, considering the character (for anybody who's seen the Madoka TV series), having her calmly smiling like that...is not very fitting, IMHO.
milky_way 9th February 2013 06:57 PM
Damita 15th February 2013 04:39 PM
I just discovered Kalafina a little less than a month ago and I am crazy about them! I pre-ordered Consolation and managed to get a hold on Red Moon CD+DVD Japan Edition.
Generally I tend to like their ballads most (Seventh Heaven, Ashita no Keshiki, Hikari Furu) and their really experimental/grand tracks (sandpaper, Red Moon).
adantatu2 16th February 2013 03:15 AM
What is their best album ?
I only listen their singles and i think i could like their full albums
Yoake 16th February 2013 09:35 AM
^For me, their best album is Red Moon. But you should listen to all of them.
Welcome to this thread Damita. Nice to see that you like Kalafina. Red Moon is one of my favourite song too. ^^
Red Moon is IMO their best, BUT it does take quite a while to grow on you, so maybe for a first album you should try After Eden. It's a lot more listener friendly, even though all of their albums are really masterpieces so you can't go wrong with any of them.
milky_way 17th February 2013 12:04 AM
Red Moon imo
adantatu2 17th February 2013 04:45 AM
Thanks, i'm going to try Red Moon first and then After Eden ;)
Thanks! :) So good to see you are a Kalafina fan too :D
I agree with you all that Red Moon is arguably their best, but I do have one tiny issue with it: it has very few ballads, and the one or two it has (I Have a Dream and 春は黄金の夢の中) are both relatively inferior to Seventh Heaven's and After Eden's ballads. Had they extended the tracklist by one or two tracks and added in two really strong ballads, I would agree that it's the best.
After Eden has the opposite tiny problem for me: The ballads are plentiful and fantastic, but they're missing that Red Moon/Lacrimosa type song. It does have Magia and Destination Unknown, which are both pretty strong tracks.
For me, Seventh Heaven is probably barely my favorite because it has that perfect balance of songs on it. But seriously, you can't go wrong with any album. They're all absolutely fantastic!
Zahara 17th February 2013 08:26 AM
I'm going against the grain and saying Seventh Heaven. That really captured their sound and element. Songs like the title, Oblivious, Serenato, etc. I play daily, it's just a very surreal and dream like sound they had on those tracks.
CHE.R.RY 18th February 2013 01:31 AM
^ I agree 100%...That album made me a believer.
mellody 19th February 2013 01:40 AM
For me, this is just good, but pretty average.
I feel like something is missing from Kalafina ever since they released Hikari Furu, maybe it's just me anyway. As a fan of Kajiura for a long time, I feel like her soundtracks are more prominent than most of the songs composed.
Damita 19th February 2013 02:45 AM
^ Haha, since Hikari Furu? This has been the first song heard since Hikari Furu, isn't it? xD I sort of get what you mean though...just out of curiosity, which soundtracks do you prefer to this?
As for the song, I think it's lovely! Like a slower version of "Eden".
I can't wait to the song "Consolation", since their title tracks usually are the best/one of the best songs from the album.
The only thing I don't like about Kalafina is their PV's...I can only watch the girls walk around in slow motion in pretty costumes for so long before I'm dead of boredom.
mellody 19th February 2013 05:27 AM
I mean, the last release from them that I really enjoy is moonfesta, even Yane no Mukou ni is as great as moonfesta. When I heard Hikari Furu, I was like... hmm? And then Mirai was average as well, even if it's just the song version of Credens Justitiam, still... The remix of Magia is the only thing that I like from Kalafina latest single.
For the soundtracks, basically recent soundtracks that Kajiura released so far last year, Sword Art Online, Fate/Zero :heart, Madoka Magica, Kara no Kyoukai, etc. Like Fate/Zero soundtracks, I enjoy most of the composition than a whole Hikari Furu single, sorry for being a bit exaggerated.
By the way, Yume no Daichi is somewhat like a downgrade version of epic symphonia from After Eden. Haha, don't expect much from Kajiura PV.
Pretty!
Damita 20th February 2013 07:04 PM
The covers are lovely :) They're all basically the same, though I think I prefer CD+DVD most, then CD, and CD+Blu-ray last. I love how the background is decorated in the CD+DVD, while the CD and CD+Bluray are the same background.
And then Mirai was average as well, even if it's just the song version of Credens Justitiam, still... The remix of Magia is the only thing that I like from Kalafina latest single.
For the soundtracks, basically recent soundtracks that Kajiura released so far last year, Sword Art Online, Fate/Zero :heart, Madoka Magica, Kara no Kyoukai, etc. Like Fate/Zero soundtracks, I enjoy most of the composition than a whole Hikari Furu single, sorry for being a bit exaggerated.
By the way, Yume no Daichi is somewhat like a downgrade version of epic symphonia from After Eden. Haha, don't expect much from Kajiura PV.
Haha really? I didn't like moonfesta a lot, though I like it more with each listen (I initially hated it). I thought Mirai was good, not their best, but still good.
Thanks for your recommendation of soundtracks. I wanted to try more Kajiura compositions so I will try some of those! I already found an hour long clip of all her recordings for one soundtrack on youtube, and I was extremely impressed!
mellody 21st February 2013 04:32 PM
I love those covers :heart
moonfesta has that unique element of Kalafina, you can hear that previously in Hikari no Senritsu, my all time favorite Kalafina song, at least for me. It's quite rare for Kajiura to compose some folk melodies like that, the other one is Natsu no Ringo from seventh heaven.
So, you're looking for more Kajiura composition?
Allow me to give you some recommendation then. Since for me this is not just a thread for Kalafina but all of Kajiura works.
Spoiler:
If soundtracks, try these:
  • Fate/Zero (Fate/Zero Original Soundtrack I & II)
  • Kara no Kyoukai (the Garden of sinners -Gekijouban "Kara no Kyoukai" Ongakushuu-)
  • Pandora Hearts (Pandora Hearts Original Soundtrack 1 & 2)
  • Tsubasa Chronicle (Tsubasa Chronicle Future Soundscape I, II, III, IV)
  • NOIR (NOIR ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK I & II)
  • The Works for Soundtrack
  • Some of .hack soundtracks
Also, try other songs composed by her and her album as well:
  • FICTION II (This is superb :heart)
  • Everlasting Songs (This is the release that Kajiura fan must listen)
  • 2008-2010 The BEST of Yuki Kajiura LIVE (Collection of lives, really nice)
There are some songs that very memorable for me, for example:
  • canta per me - from Noir soundtracks
  • Mezame - from Mai Hime soundtracks
  • In the land of twilight, under the moon - from Tsubasa Chronicle soundtracks
  • the world, vanity & Liminality - from .hack series soundtracks
  • a song of storm and fire - from Tsubasa Chronicle soundtracks
  • Akatsuki no Kuruma - song from FJ YUUKA
  • stone cold - song from FictionJunction
  • Calling - song from Oda Kaori a.k.a FJ KAORI
  • Sora wa Takaku, Kaze wa Utau - song from Haruna Luna
Oh, please watch this too, for your delight~
For me, this is one of the best performance from them, really.
The whole concert is worth watching too.
Quite a list :laugh
I'm so excited when anyone new is into Kajiura, I hope you like it.
Zahara 23rd February 2013 08:53 AM
Even though this isn't Kalafina related news, the Blu Ray/DVD of Fictionjunction Volume 9 came out the other day and some of the lives are on youtube.
Hanae is amazing. That is all.
Yoake 23rd February 2013 11:18 AM
Those covers are nice but really deja vu. They remind me sprinter / ARIA ones.
I'm so excited when anyone new is into Kajiura, I hope you like it.
Wow, thanks!! I've listened to the following already:
FictionJunction Yuuka - Akatsuki no Kuruma (love that song! I love how it's slightly folk)
Everlasting Songs (was very, very good! My favorite songs: 星屑, 花守の丘, 宝石 on first listen. But all of them were at least listenable. I'll definitely listen all the way through in one listen sometime and see what I love)
"In the land of twilight, under the moon" was good, the live was a little odd because it seemed like a sad song, yet near the end it was almost like some weird dance party xD with fist bumping everywhere! So much different from Kalafina's Red Moon performances, where they look so epic yet sorrowful.
I don't know why, but I only like Yuuka's voice in Akatsuki no Kuruma...in Everlasting Songs, it's too nasally. And all her other songs I'm hearing it's just not that pleasant for some reason. It's not bad by any means, but it's one of those voices I can only endure in certain songs or in small doses.
By the way, I also love Hikari no Senritsu :) Moonfesta's beginning is what made me almost hate it. It sounded too...I don't know, childish? But the chorus is fantastic!
I'll try your recommended songs first, and then find the soundtracks and let you know what I think of those! :)
CHE.R.RY 25th February 2013 02:59 AM
Yume no Daichi is lovely and so are the covers :heart.
mellody 26th February 2013 05:29 PM
By listening to everlasting song album, you will recognize most of Kajiura composition after that, because for me, that album is something like... her signature. Those 3 songs you mentioned are my favorite too :heart
I also don't like Yuuka voice that much, only in Akatsuki no Kuruma, her voice is tolerable, at least for me. But, she's currently Kajiura favorite soloist.
Since moonfesta is for children show, so... no wonder :laugh
I hope you like 'fate to zero' the first soundtrack on Fate/Zero OST Vol. 2, I'm addicted to it.
Zahara 26th February 2013 07:37 PM
Have you guys checked out Vol.9 live yet?
You are missing out if you didn't! Hanae sings Let the Stars Fall Down and Lotus.
mellody 27th February 2013 02:05 AM
I watched Vol. 9!
I think it's as great as Vol. 2, I loooove the setlist, and Hanae sings Let the stars fall down :heart
Echiko 7th March 2013 10:02 PM
The song Consolation is leaked!
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/47776109/Consolation.mp3 :))
Chiharo 7th March 2013 11:33 PM
I decided not to listen to leaks until I receive the album, but I'd love to hear what you people think about "Consolation".
adantatu2 8th March 2013 01:59 AM
I like it a lot !!
It's like a mix between Magia and to the beginning IMO.
I thought it would be a boring ballad, but i'm wrong !!!
milky_way 8th March 2013 02:42 AM
To listen or not to listen...
Damita 8th March 2013 02:30 PM
I couldn't help but listen, I was too excited to hear it! I listened to it once yesterday and once today (and I'm going to try not to listen to again until my copy comes, we'll see how that goes). It's absolutely fantastic, though I definitely applaud those who are waiting to listen to it, because it will be SO much better in HQ than it sounds right now, I can tell.
I only have one complaint about it: 1) It's a lot like their past songs (so far every title track has had its own identity: Eden, Seventh Heaven, and Red Moon are all special and unique in Kalafina's catalog. However, Consolation is not that unique I feel, though listening in HQ may change my opinion. In fact, now that I state that, I feel that may be true.
Also @mellody, thanks again for your recommendations, I'm still enjoying them :) I tried listening to fate to zero while doing my homework and I enjoyed it very much! There's so much music I can hardly handle myself hahaha. I am also trying her SAO soundtrack since I really enjoyed the music I've heard before from it, namely "Crossing Field by LiSA. Coincidentally. LiSA also did the opening for fate/zero, "Oath Sign", but I don't think Kajiura was involved with either.
Midori-chan 8th March 2013 10:15 PM
New album! Ahhhhhh~~
I can't wait! :smitten
The covers are very pretty, but what else is new?! :D I adore ALL Kalafina-covers so far! :heart
*hearT_Place* 11th March 2013 05:54 PM
Consolation is intense! I can't wait to get the full album!
milky_way 14th March 2013 09:52 PM
Where are the album previews? :cry
Damita 17th March 2013 12:30 AM
Finally it leaked!! I'm trying not to listen to everything but I've listened to Consolation/Door/the intro on HQ and they're all fantastic!
I love their ballads so I was really pleased that Door resembles Hikari Furu in a way, but I think some people won't like it.
This may just end up being their best album, it's already better than Eden/Red Moon at this point, as long as the rest of the tracks aren't bad.
I love "al fine" so much, I kinda wish it was a full song, it has so much sorrow in it, it's really beautiful and like a sorrowful version of "Seventh Heaven" (in fact it's just like that intro except sad).
adantatu2 17th March 2013 06:41 AM
^I can wait to hear the album ^_^
Chiharo 17th March 2013 02:36 PM
Opinions on this album seem to be very positive. Now I really hope I will receive this album just one day after the release date (as I somehow magically did with After Eden), otherwise I'm not sure how much longer I can wait without listening to the leak.
Yoake 17th March 2013 11:02 PM
Thanks Damita. I saw your post this morning before to go to Lyon. I listend to it in the train. I like it but I think it's not as good as RED MOON and Seventh Heaven. The strongest songs are the singles one.
My favouite are Consolation & Door
Damita 18th March 2013 09:34 AM
^ Haha it's so funny you say that, I was about to post in your graphic shop but then I saw you were going to Lyon! Please have a nice trip! :)
What I love about this album is it has so many fantastic ballads, which IMO they don't have enough in their catalog. Also I love/like every track so far (even moonfesta now). I think Seventh Heaven is too epic to ever surpass in greatness, it's actually one of my favorite albums EVER, but this one does a good job competing with it.
mellody 18th March 2013 06:16 PM
LiSA is not related to Kajiura at all, but she has the same genre, Anison I guess.
Glad if you're enjoying my recommendation then :)
Anyway, probably I'm the one here that have different opinion about new album, I put under spoiler in case if it would decrease your excitement for those who haven't listened to the album.
Spoiler:
So I finally listened to consolation and I gotta say:
What's wrong with Kajiura? Where is your direction for this group now?
At first when listening to the whole album, I like it, so exciting.
Second attempt, feels like the songs fade away easily, not very memorable.
I remember the first time when listening to After Eden, I'm easily amazed by most of the album tracks like sandpiper, destination unknown, and symphonia even from Red Moon, like fantasia, Kyrie, Yami no Uta, I have a dream, and most of seventh heaven tracks, they bring the epicness of Kajiura "utahime", but in this album, I feel like "not anymore."
Compared to 3 previous albums, this album kinda lost the "Kalafina's identity."
Maybe they are trying to become more mainstream? I don't know.
Or maybe I'm still not used to their new direction, I can be wrong.
Either a step up from Kara no Kyoukai series or step down to mainstream road.
The flow of this album is somewhat like Red Moon, many twist, up and downs.
Most of the album tracks are nice, I love consolation and Signal the most, but it's rather standard and weak.
I feel like something is missing from Kalafina ever since to the beginning, that's why this album is kinda off or 'powerless' for me.
Even though consolation itself is fierce and intense.
But I'm still not sure actually, like I said before maybe I'm still not used to their new direction. Probably I only need to listen more.
Even if consolation sounds different from 3 previous albums, this album has something that other 3 albums don't have, I'm not sure what is that, but this album is very strong on the theme itself. Musical wise, maybe not really entertaining, but really, there's something on this album that makes me want to listen again and again. Even I appreciate Hikari Furu more now.
So overall, this is actually not a bad album because this album has one strong point.
It's just a mere opinion though :laugh
milky_way 18th March 2013 11:03 PM
This is probably their weakest album tbh :(
Zahara 19th March 2013 09:46 AM
This is almost up there with Seventh Heaven for me. The mood is pretty heavy in some of the songs, a bit uncomfortable in their tone, so it's something a lot different compared to how After Eden was light and nostalgic.
Lyrically, I ain't got a clue what they are saying, so for all I know they are singing about riding sharks and blowing up Antarctica, but Wakana's voice sounds much better on this album than AE. She sounds like has finally gotten used to her new voice technique.
I like the presence of the drums and bass guitar, and some new instruments as well, it's a sign Yuki Kajiura is experimenting a bit more in her music.
This album was perfect to listen to on my way home tonight. It was snowing pretty heavily when the song Door started to play.
Also, Hanae and Yuriko ftw! So glad to hear their voices in some of the tracks!
I agree...maybe I just need to listen to it some more, but I wasn't really feeling it all :(. The only song that totally blew my socks off was Door. That song had me completely subdued for a little bit there.
mellody 20th March 2013 01:20 AM
I wonder if anyone realize about this...
The opening track al fine, consist lyrics and messages referencing another song from the album:
"ten no *can't make this line out entirely*" (Manten)
"kimi no tame no CONSOLATION" (Should go without saying)
This is why this album packed beautifully with a strong theme.
Tomoyo 20th March 2013 11:05 PM
In my personal opinion, After Eden was their weakest album. They did redeem themselves with this new album. i do enjoy it a lot more than i did After Eden, with the exception of Magia, Destination Unknown and Magnolia. those are really the only songs i liked off of that album. to me the best album was probably their first one, although i did enjoy Red Moon a lot too. I still think Seventh heaven was the best. I have uploaded Consolation in the Downloads section if anyone wants it ^.^
