There is an update on LMB page at Kuu's website and it looks like there'll be Koda Kumi mini-live in December, in Tokyo, and 600 tickets will be given through LMB copies! DVD2 from next album?

Lee^ChaN 26th October 2011 06:51 AM

^ damn.. so it means we have to buy the single?! *noo..... noo moneeeyyy!!!*

For god's sake.. gimme new songs already!!

Corvina 26th October 2011 10:22 AM

There are three updates on her official site.

That's what the first press item, the lottery ticket, is for.
You need one golden mark or two silver ones to win and have to send in the marks with a postcard.
The mini live will be held in Tokyo on 16th December.
5 winners also get a personal handwritten message from Kuu.

Also there's going to be an audition for new female dancers. Probably for this mini live and the tour next year? Maybe somebody is leaving as well.

And a new live it seems:
11/10(木) 19:00~(予定) CX『VS嵐』 new

And I'm sure emiko will faint now:

Ena Matsumoto from Emoda was at the last Kuu Dejavu concert!

http://ameblo.jp/ena-matsumoto/entry...medium=twitter

:laugh

And she speaks about a possible Emoda x Koda Kumi collaboration!
How cool would that be!

Thanks to kumi-flash for finding.

Just out of curiosity does anyone know when One Night Ballroom was filmed?

Corvina 26th October 2011 11:57 AM

Dirty Ballroom 〜One Night Show〜 was held 2008/10/23 at the Shinkiba Studio Coast
It was a FC special live if I remember correctly.

kaled kalil 26th October 2011 02:40 PM

I can't wait to see more infos about this new special live. I hope something cool, not a ballad concert.

Btw, I found something interesting, but I have no idea how to download it (I know that have to be registered): http://bbs.cnliti.com/thread-22917-1-1.html

tokyoxjapanxfan 26th October 2011 02:43 PM

From Ena's blog post, there's apparently a Kuu x EMODA collabo coming soon?

Wow, Dream music park in 3D to download!
That's what I hoped to get as a DVD release with those paper glasses (how are they called?) coming along with it.

Minttulatte 26th October 2011 04:06 PM

New live and collaboration with Emoda (can someone explain what this is)? Awesome. I can't wait for these~ I wonder if that mini live will be included on her new album's CD+2DVD Limited Edition then. :33

Love Me Back final tracklist:

03. Love Me Back (Andy Price Remix)
The producer of Love Me Back is Matthew Tishler (Black Candy).

Kuu's a-nation'11 part:

BE MY BABY

You are not alone

I'd give my left nut to see this in HD. This diva b1tch is flawless.

During AK-69's rap in Blingx3 it sounds like the music in Selfish. :heart

Ayu_Love 26th October 2011 08:05 PM

New female dancers huh? I hope none of the originals are leaving! I really like them, and they've been with Kuu for a long time. D: I think Hachi has been with her longest. She's been with her since like 2005/2006!

I understand that this is an Arashi show but do they have performances on it or is it just an interview? I don't really pay all that much attention to them so I'm a bit clueless. :p

Gustavopc 27th October 2011 01:21 AM

Kuu is just giving me reasons to get even more excited about the upcoming releases and events :heart But with the mini-live in December I think that the CDL is almost impossible to happen :P

EMODA is a clothing line produced by Ena Matsumoto. I guess they'd be categorized as a gyaru brand~~ They have a store in Shibuya 109, and they do a lot of style stuff for like, JJ and Blenda...stuff like that.

ah they've come so far in such little time...im so proud lol

Emoda is a Mode Gyaru clothing brand. Mode means "High Fashion" in Japanese, a good explanation of the whole term and brands here:
http://universal-doll.com/2010/06/in...ng-mode-gyaru/

Some years ago I would have said, no, Kuu doesn't fit that style thaaaat much, but with her more mature and classy style she did recently I can totally see that now.

emiko is ignoring my post! :(
*sniff*
XD

Minttulatte 27th October 2011 02:01 PM

The moment I read "gyaru" I became worried about how this collaboration will turn out because I really am not a fan of gyaru fashion like, at all, to be honest. D: Oh well, I still put my trust in Kuu because she can make everything look absolutely gorgeus. :)

Corvina 27th October 2011 02:11 PM

Kuu already is pretty Gyaru since her secret album. XD
She has a lot of Gyaru fans and it's so wide spred in fashion styles, I'm sure you would find something you like. :laugh

Gyaru love Kuu, like, hardcore. She is really popular with AV gyaru :lech I've always seen Kuu as gyaru, pretty much. Even before her secret days, her music was lite R&B, which is super popular with gals.

Ayu_Love 27th October 2011 08:18 PM

I always thought Kuu to be very Gyaru and popular with Gyaru, too. Especially since her secret times. Even Ayu is very Gyaru at some points. Kuu does all the Gyaru stuff, from the fake tan to the high fashion. :yes Ayu tends to do more Gyaru make-up though, with the large eyes and fish lips. :)

I think some people get confused, and think Gyaru is more this type of fashion:
http://thefashioncafe.blogspot.com/2...ow-us-how.html

When normal Gyaru isn't actually that extreme, it focus's more on high fashion. The fashion as displayed in that blog is called 'Yamaba' Gyaru, the most extreme fashion of Gyaru. Sifow used to be a more extreme type of Gyaru, and then she toned it down a bit to like how Kuu wears. :)

I really like Gyaru fashion, hahaha. :heart Tsubasa Masuwaka is a famous Gyaru icon, too.

Kingdom 27th October 2011 11:28 PM

So the album may have 14 or 15 songs (besides intro and bonus track, I guess). Cool!
And I hope for pv for all tracks too, she wanted to do this with TRICK then maybe this idea still working.

emi♡ 29th October 2011 12:01 AM

um I don't want to like, shed a bunch of light on the argument, so I'll put this in a spoiler...
Spoiler:
but...Koda is so gyaru :laugh

And I agree, I dont think people really know what gyaru is. But rest assured, EMODA isn't some kind of crazy dark skin-white eye make up fashion brand.

It's a pretty straightforward fashion brand, and if you're unsure about it, please take a look at their site, and some of their fashions. It tends to be pretty cutting edge, and shares a large similarity to trends in high european fashion.

Im kinda sorry to have brought up the word :laugh Please don't misunderstand.

I mean, type "koda kumi gyaru" into google...one of the first images that comes up is

http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lk...3b1wo1_500.png

which is pretty koda-ish, and totally gyaru lol It's just, that glamorous, girly fashion, in general. And thats how people talk about these brands.

Yeah, I think it's just one of those things that get missed if you don't actually live in Japan and know their terminology and slang for stuff...which imo is just daunting. They have a word for freaking EVERYTHING lol

And then people don't usually talk about it unless you're big in following the japanese fashion circles.

I actually found it interesting, because to me...idk that kind of fashion is just...normal? lol Like obviously it's like a Night-out glam fashion...but its still pretty normal around here.

but...I guess, not so much in Japan? lol Stuff that's noticed there, for example like dying your hair...just kinda flies over my head sometimes, cause practically everyone I know dyes their hair...

After walking around in Japan and looking at the more idol kinds of girls, I've come to realize that the Japanese prefer a more natural beauty of black hair and even crooked teeth (they now have dentists in Japan that make your teeth look worse), even in celebrities. Gyaru, Kuu and other celebs like Ayu are like, super divas to them. Like you said, just coloring hair is like "woah!" to them, but I guess because you know everyone in Japan has black hair, where as you can't tell here in NA, unless the person has roots.

Also, gyaru models in magazines are not really what the more average gyaru looks like. The girls featured in magazines are there because they are the epitome of what the ideal of a true gal is.

It's no issue that you think they're all like that :laugh You learn something new every day, right? It's no big deal. I learn new stuff every day that other people have known for ages, but next time I know it :) Don't feel like people are judging you.

So there's more news from her birthday? That's so cute, lol. Looking forward to it.

Ah, so you didn't ignore me, thats reliefing somehow. :laugh
For a moment I was worried you actually did, though it wouldn't fit to you judging from other posts. I guess, I think too much XD
Yeah, let's share love! <3 :shughug

Spoiler:
Especially Gyaru love!
The first you often see is, like fellow AHSler already mentioned, the more extreme styles like Ganguro, Manba, Banba etc. and people are mostly shocked by it and don't look further - what I do understand somehow, though I got totally interested in seeing such pics. :laugh
But it's worth to look further, cause there's more or less a style for everyone. Though Gyaru trademarks are always the nails, the make up and the styled hair, mostly combined with a fake tan. Nothing for people who like it more natural, I admit. :laugh
The fascinating thing is, for me personally anyway, that Japanese always do that so perfect, and you're asking yourself, how they did that.
And if you know that it started as a protest, to liberate japanese women from that old beauty and community standard, it's even more fascinating!
Overall Gyaru could be summarized as "girly glam styles", well, more or less.

I can't believe Kuu already announces her next big tour! :thud
Seriously, then her 10th album can't be that far away.
December/January, depends on how much PVs they are doing and if they put the special live on it as well. Right know it's so exciting to be a Kuu fan! :tipsy

BUT i don't think so...

i think we'll get this album at the week after christmas for the double sales or the first 2 jan. weeks!!
so the announcement should be around the tour announcement...
november 13th is a sunday and if i remember correct, BEST UNIVERSE was announced on a sunday too, BUT let's see...

at least we get the album title!!
and i still hope for a limited single 1-2 weeks before the album!

^
^This. :D I don't think many western people realize that the 'normal' look in japan is pale skin and black hair, whereas over here it's normal for people to have blonde hair and tan, but not in Japan. That's why the Kogals and Ganguro started copying calefornia girls and western girls styles to be different. That's why Kuu is considered Gyaru because she also does the western style with fake tan and dyed hair. They even have pants in Japan to make girl's asses more round and 'western'. :P If you go over to Japan and you have natural blonde hair, girls all ask to touch your hair and take pictures with you.

If people are still confused about the different types of Gyaru (such as ganguro, yamaba etc) then watch this part of an episode of Jonathan Ross's Japanorama that was shown on BBC:

Kuu is featured in part 3 of this episode, at 4:40:

I do kinda resent how he says they are simply Japanese counterparts of J-lo, Madonna, and Christina Aguilera, though. It really ticks me when people say that, when Kuu, namie and Ayu are original artists completely different, that quite frankly, I don't associate with J-lo, Madonna or Christina.

It dosen't really give examples of just normal Gyaru, which really is a more natural western look and high fashion, like EMODA. But it explains the more extreme styles.

Sorry for off-topic, I thought that would be a useful video to share. :) I'm looking forward to the mini-live in December! Kuu never rests! D:

Lee^ChaN 30th October 2011 06:24 AM

Thanks!
She sounds so sexy :heart
but don't you guys think that the song is too short and kinda miss the climax?

emi♡ 30th October 2011 07:10 AM

Awesome~~

I generally will like this style of kuu song, and I do like this one. It IS a little anticlimactic...but I find the light flirtatiousness kinda fun.

It seems like a really good song for a PV, and if there's a dance routine, I think that will help it a lot too.

waterballoon 30th October 2011 07:24 AM

oh cool..i love the song so much!

A bit short and missing a big climax, but such a fun and flirty song! :heart

The beat of Love Me Back was made for Kuu. Suits her perfectly. 2nd favorite song of the new album's singles. My favorite being VIP.

tokyoxjapanxfan 31st October 2011 05:22 AM

love me back is very 2005/6? haha i like it :)

Zeke. 31st October 2011 07:05 AM

Don't like the chorus very much at all. :no

Kaiouforever 31st October 2011 07:52 AM

Love Me Back is amazing! I missed these kind of songs, I'm actually excited for her release now!

Love Me Back sounds like Britney mixed with Gwen Stefani...and I freaking love it. Beat totally goes with her voice!

ren'ai 31st October 2011 02:51 PM

I like Love Me Back but it still hasn't fully grown on me as anything special.

Anyways,

Koda Kumi Live Tour 2011 ~Dejavu~ hall tour to be broadcasted on WOWOW on December 18th 2011!

The DVD will probably be released a few weeks after it :heart can't wait!!

Minttulatte 31st October 2011 04:15 PM

I can't wait to see Dejavu Tour. I'll probably die from epicness overload. XD

Ayu_Love 31st October 2011 04:32 PM

Thanks for the 'Love Me Back' rip! :D

Ahh love it, so awesome!! :heart

kaled kalil 31st October 2011 04:34 PM

Wow Love Me Back is great ♥ the only negative point is that the song is too short. I can't wait to see the PV.
I'm not really excited to see the Live Tour 2011 tbh.

koumori 31st October 2011 04:57 PM

Love Me Back is awesome, I like it. Good radio rip!

me neither...
Dejavu era is for me her worst era ever, in therms of album songs, stage...
Universe tour was so epic, so I'll wait for next year tour since I love 4 Times and Love me back and I'm expecting a very nice album!

I think Hachi is leaving the stage for a while, she got married. Maybe this is why Kuu is looking for a new female dancer.

Ayu_Love 31st October 2011 10:27 PM

^Thanks for the pictures! Awww, I'm happy for Hachi! :D It'll be sad to see her leave the stage (hopefully not permanently) since she is one of Kuu's oldest dancers (She's been with her for like, 5 years. D:).

But I am excited to see the next person Kuu will recruit as well!

happiholic★ 1st November 2011 03:18 AM

I feel like I'm a bad fan for not being excited to see Dejavu Tour because its a hall tour. I've been spoiled by Black Cherry and UNIVERSE Tours.

ayu_ready? 1st November 2011 11:15 AM

oh a new album and a tour again. I'm worried. because I think she needs a rest with albums at least. Deja vu was good, but you know...when there's such a rush the quality may suffer a bit. or not a bit. but Kuu seem to never fail. guess it's just the talent!
I'm wondering about new album concept and such. currently with her long hair & everything she so much reminds of 2006-2007. which is just superb, you know ;)

maze 1st November 2011 11:23 AM

oh my, that picture from love me back pv is so hot. I caaaaaan't :thud

and I'm pretty excited for Dejavu Tour cuz all her lives are freakin' amazing, but I'll wait for the DVD release. lol

congrats for Hachi :3

Holy crap :dead

she looks frikkin amazing, flawless etc etc :heart can't wait for the whole thing!

she really needs to hire a new choreographer though, her dance moves get simpler after each dance PV
