I'm not really surprised Kim Hyun Joong's HEAT kicked Yamapi's butt big time as HEAT is produced by B'z & the fact that Kim Hyun Joong & Morning Museume sold even more than Yamapi , that's a big slap in the face

What's the big deal anyways? I personally don't care, as KHJ just boosted his sales with various events and then fall right where he belongs lol. Pi was #1 for most of the week, so that's all good for me :) And still managed to sell 118k, not bad I would say.

SMAP’s Katori Shingo and Yamashita Tomohisa to star in new TBS drama

It was announced that SMAP member Katori Shingo and actor/singer Yamashita Tomohisa will be starring in the new TBS drama “MONSTERS“! This is an exciting mystery drama which revolves around convexo-concave pair of detectives, and this will be the first time for both Katori and Yamashita to act as detectives.

Katori’s role will be a detective at the First Investigation Division of the Metropolitan Police Department, named ’Hiratsuka Heihachi’ who is cheap, makeshift, meticulous, and rude man, though he always puts a smile on his face and is an extremely civil-spoken person. Hiratsuka exposes a person’s hidden face and the true nature of human relations, and solves cases by brazenly getting to the core of the person. On the other hand, Yamashita’s role ‘Saionji Kosuke’ is a pure and honest rookie detective who is a son of noble family and filled with strong morals. Those two will team up, and make a convexo-concave combination.

For Katori and Yamashita, this will be the first time to co-star with each other. Katori commented about co-starring with his junior from Johnny’s Jimusho, “My image toward Yamapi is a quiet and earnest cool guy! I am looking forward to co-star with him. I can’t wait to clash passionately with the young ‘MONSTER’ (Yamashita)!“, and Yamashita showed his expectation as he said, “I would like to learn a lot from Katori-san.” Reportedly, the two are already congenial spirits though the filming has not even started yet.

“MONSTERS” will start airing in October on TBS (every Sunday at 9:00 pm).

Yamapi broken up with European girlfriend, goes on vacation with new girlfriend

Tomohisa Yamashita has ended things with his rumoured French girlfriend, and is now seeing a restaurant worker, reports women’s weekly magazine Shukan Josei.

Yamashita had been previously caught dating a European woman in 2011, a relationship which seemed to have been going well according to a friend.

“Yamashita said that he could relax around her because she didn’t see him as a celebrity. He’s been hoping to work overseas for years, and I think she had a good effect on him because they talked to one another in English. Even if he had work from early in the morning, he’d make time to see her for meals afterwards,” said one source who knows Yamashita.

But recently it has been reported the relationship has ended.

“They broke up ages ago. Around the beginning of last year there were a number of sightings of the two of them on dates and there was talk that they were kind of living together, but I heard they broke up around the end of the year. I think the cultural differences were too much for him to handle. Western culture has influenced his lifestyle a lot lately, but there might’ve been some things about how she saw the world that he just couldn’t understand,” said one source.

Rumours had started going around Yamashita had got back with actress Keiko Kitagawa after the two were spotted having dinner together around the end of last year, but the source who knows Yamashita has said this was not true.

“That’s not likely because he has a new girlfriend, B-san. He’s already introduced her to his close friends, and they all went for a holiday in Okinawa during the spring break. Apparently he didn’t want to attract attention so they went to a smaller island away from the main island.

“B-san works at a restaurant in Tokyo. But because his agency told him off for being too careless while dating his last girlfriend, he’s been really careful when seeing his new girlfriend. It’s a big change, because he used to tell everyone that he didn’t care whether people were looking at him,” said one source who knows Yamashita.

NEWS get 14th No.1 single

The latest NEWS single “チャンカパーナ (Chankapana)” is the No.1 single of the week, selling more than 245,000 records, reports Oricon.

It is the first single the group has released since Tomohisa Yamashita and Ryo Nishikido had left the group in 2011. The last single the six-member group had released was “Fighting Man” in November 2011, which sold 150,000 records. This means the new single has sold almost 100k more records than the last. It is also the group’s first single in three years to exceed sales of 200k in the first week since “恋のABO (Koi no ABO)” in April 2009.

NEWS have had 14 straight No.1 singles since their debut with “希望〜Yell〜 (Kibou ~Yell~)”. They are third behind KinKi Kids and KAT-TUN, who hold the records for most consecutive No.1 singles since debut, with 32 and 18 No.1 singles respectively.

It has been reported NEWS leader Keiichiro Koyama said this No.1 had more meaning than some others.

“‘Chankapana’ is the result of what we have felt, and what all of our fans who have waited all this time for us have felt. This is the greatest start. I couldn’t help but cry when I heard the numbers. I promise to return my thanks in my work. I hope you will have a ‘美しい恋しましょう！(beautiful love)’ with us,” he said.

The four member NEWS are due to start their summer concert tour on August 14 in Tokyo before going around Kobe, Fukuoka, Niigata, Sendai, Hiroshima, and Sapporo. It is their first national tour in three-and-a-half years.

Yamapi has transformed from cool to eros

Talk about red underwear, boxer shorts, nipples, gossip, fans saw a new side of Tomohisa Yamashita during his fan event at Pacifico in Yokohama on July 24, reports Chunichi Sports.

With the release of his new album “エロP (Ero-P)” today and upcoming tour which starts this weekend, yesterday Yamashita let out his sexy side in front of 5000 fans who have always known him as a cool guy.

“That horniness inside of me that I’ve kept hidden since becoming a Johnny’s pop start has started to come out bit by bit this summer. Today I’m wearing red underwear. I like wearing boxer shorts more.”

It has been reported to make his point clearer, before the event, Yamashita had talked to the press about what his concept was for his upcoming tour.

“The tour is a fusion of Johnny’s and eros. It’s something everyone can enjoy whether they’re a little girl or a mature lady.”

Yamashita had been going around the country on his fan event tour for fans who had bought his latest single “LOVE CHASE”. At yesterday’s event, which was the last of the tour, the talent had enjoyed shouting out a lot of messages to his fans.

“You’re all that special someone to me.”

“You can see my nipples in the shower scene of my music video.”

Yamapi denies new girlfriend rumour

Tomohisa Yamashita denies having a new girlfriend, or going on holiday with a new girlfriend in Okinawa, Chunichi Sports and Daily Sports Online reports.

Recently, gossip magazines had reported Yamashita had been on holiday in Okinawa with his new girlfriend, a restaurant staff worker in Tokyo.

At yesterday’s fan event in Yokohama, Yamashita set the record straight.

“I haven’t had any time to go to Okinawa, and I don’t know this person who works at a restaurant. It’s totally wrong. I’ve been good and restraining myself. I only open up in front of my fans.”

very pleasantly surprised how versatile Ero is & to think at 1st , I had 0 expectations towards this album

It kind of reminds me of the sequel to SUPERBAD but much more versatile . Even the upbeat songs , they all sound very different from one another which's great

Massu promises to make wish come true for world champion athlete if she wins in London

A two-time Olympic gold medalist and nine-time world champion wrestler said she would love to get a hug from Takahisa Masuda from NEWS / Tegomass if she wins again in London, and the Johnny’s talent said he would make it happen, reports MyNavi News.

Saori Yoshida had been a guest on the music show “1番ソングSHOW (1-can Song Show)” on July 25 and said she always listens to the song “ぼくらの空 (Bokura no Sora)” by Tegomass before a match. The athlete had said she listens to the song before going onto the wrestling platform alone, and it motivates her to think, “Yes! I can spread my wings and fly!”.

It has been reported a special video message was prepared for Yoshida by her favorite member, Massu.

In the video, Masuda had first off said he was happy Yoshida had chosen him over his Tegomass partner Yuya Tegoshi, and then wished her the best in London.

“I hope you can get that gold medal at the Olympics in London. Good luck.”

Then, when a staff member asked Masuda whether he would make any wish Yoshida had come true if she does win the gold medal, he answered the question with a definite yes.

“I’d love a hug. I’ll make sure I win,” Yoshida commented after watching the video.

While this might make a number of Tegomass fans jealous, hopefully they will be forgiving this time. An athlete who is representing her country is getting the support and motivation she needs to get ready for her medal match from Masuda’s singing. No musician could ask for anything better than that. So, hopefully Tegomass fans will welcome Yoshida back to Japan with a big smile.
