Sho Sakurai and Keiko Kitagawa reunite for “Nazotoki wa Dinner no ato de” movie
Fans will get to see Arashi’s Sho Sakurai and actress Keiko Kitagawa on the big screen next year when the “謎解きはディナーのあとで (Nazotoki wa dinner no ago de)” movie comes out, it was announced on June 3, reports Sankei Sports. The two will reprise their roles as perfectionist, sharp-tongued butler Kageyama and socialite, police officer Reiko. The two had played these roles in the 2011 drama series, and a special drama episode in March. “I haven’t had many opportunities to play one role so many times so I’m really excited,” Sakurai said In the movie, Reiko goes on vacation to Singapore on her family’s luxury cruise ship, called the Princess Reiko, and drags Kageyama with her. While onboard, someone is murdered and the two find themselves trying to solve the case. It has been reported shooting will take place on Asia’s biggest cruise ship, the SuperStar Virgo, which can hold more than 1800 passengers and 1200 crew. It has more than 900 rooms, restaurants, casino, movie theatre, gym, and a library to name a few features. While there will be some studio shoots, it has been reported 80 to 90 per cent of the shoots will be onboard the ship. The production team will do shoots on the cruise ship later this month and in July when they go on board for two four-day cruise trips. On location shoots in Singapore are also being planned. “It’s a job, but it’s like a dream job because we’re filming on a luxury cruise ship and in Singapore, which is where I’ve always wanted to go,” Sakurai said. Satoshi Ohno says cast are always laughing on set of “Kagi no Kakatta Heya” set
Life on set is funny and full of mistakes, the cast of drama series “鍵のかかった部屋 (Kagi no Kakatta Heya)” described to fans during an event in Tokyo on June 4, reports Mainichi Shimbun. In front of 200 fans, Arashi leader Satoshi Ohno described his most memorable moments on set. “Everyone’s laughing. I mess up scenes because I find myself laughing while the camera’s rolling too. Just the littlest thing can make me laugh now,” he said To emphasise his point, Ohno even said he was laughing yesterday. “Today I had to act a scene with Erika-chan where I’d be looking at her and saying my lines. I have trouble with speaking so I was trying my best to keep it going, but then I ended up laughing when I pictured myself trying to fix myself,” he said. “We’ve been laughing since [shooting] yesterday. I get tears coming out of my eyes when I try to hold in a laugh. I’ve been crying so much though,” co-star Erika Toda said. “Koichi-san messes up scenes too. You usually make a mistake at the start [of your lines],” said Ohno. “I slip up at the easy parts. I messed up a scene today too, but when I tried to stay calm and did it again from the top, they told me the shot was no good. They’re really strict on set,” co-star Koichi Sato said. The drama the three have been starring has so far recorded average ratings of 16 per cent. Episode 8 aired yesterday, and Ohno tried to tell fans what to expect in the rest of the season in his own way. “The last episode is something different. I’m excited to see how the mystery’s going to unfold. I hope it’ll come across as funny and witty,” he said. “I don’t get it,” said the event’s host. Arashi’s Ohno Satoshi mimics his co-actors at a fan gratitude event
On June 4th, Arashi’s Ohno Satoshi (31) attended a fan gratitude event for his Fuji TV drama “Kagi no Kakkata Heya” (currently on-air, Mondays at 9 P.M.). At the request of their fans, Ohno was asked to mimic the lines of their co-actors Sato Koichi (51) and Toda Erika (23), a method he uses to practice his lines back at home. Sato did not find Ohno’s mimicking satisfactory and stated, “Doesn’t it sound more like Matsuda Yusaku (actor)?” In response, Ohno stated, “I am not making fun of you I swear,” and desperately convinced his intentions to his co-actor. Since the average of viewer’s rating up until episode 7 is 16%, which is a high number, this event was decided to be held. The viewers to decide Aiba Masaki’s drama “Mikeneko Holmes no Suiri” ending through voting
On June 19th, it was announced that Arashi’s Aiba Masaki’s (29) ongoing drama, “Mikeneko Holmes no Suiri” will open an online voting poll for its viewers to choose the outcome of their final episode (to air on the 23rd)! This will be the first drama that will allow its viewers to make the decisive ending for its story and this eleventh episode will air with an additional 15 minutes of airtime. This unique plan, titled “W (Double) Ending Voting Poll”, features two voting options for its audience: ‘Okaeri Holmes (Welcome back, Holmes)’ and ‘Sayonara Holmes… (Goodbye, Holmes)’. The fate of Aiba Masaki’s character ‘Katayama Yoshitaro’ and Matsuko Deluxe (39)’s character ‘Holmes’ (a calico cat) will be determined depending on which option gathers the most votes. The two scenarios for this final episode have already been filmed. In addition to holding this voting on its official website, the voting will also be available through this drama’s mobile site and through NTV as well. Ueto Aya Plays Ninomiya Kazunari's Heroine for NTV Drama
It has been reported that singer-actress Ueto Aya will be Arashi's Ninomiya Kazunari's heroine for his upcoming drama on NTV "Kurumaisu de Boku wa Sora o Tobu". The said drama will air on Aug 25th. Ueto expressed her excitement for the project; she and Ninomiya have previously worked for "Namida o Fuite" back in 2000. It has been 12 years since then. Joining them is child actor Fuku Suzuki and actress Hiroko Yakushimaru. The two also expressed their excitement; Fuku has played a young Ninomiya in "Freeter, Ie o Kau" and Yakushimaru said that she has been watching Ninomiya since he was in his teens and she looked forward to their first project. "Kurumaisu de Boku wa Sora o Tobu" (I'll fly in the sky on a wheelchair) tells the story of a former delinquent Yasuyuki Hasebe (played by Ninomiya) who got crippled at 15 years old. Despite his shortcomings, he decided to become a counselor and help those who are in the similar situation as him. Each of the members, who will be serving as this year’s main personality for the program, expressed their feelings regarding their big role. During the press conference, Arashi met with announcers Hattori Shinichi and Suzue Nana, who will be the general MCs, and actress Aragaki Yui, who was chosen as the charity personality for the program. Ninomiya Kazunari smiled and he said, ”It’s starting to seem real,” while Matsumoto Jun showed his spirit saying, “I want to get together and do it real soon.” Arashi was the main personality for ‘24-Hour Television’ two times in the past, in 2004 and 2008. When asked about their secret to overcome the 24 hours, Ohno Satoshi mischievously said, “I’m still young,” while Aiba Masaki blurted, “I don’t feel it’s very long.” Sakurai Sho added, “We’re not at a stance to overcome it. Fri's Superstar Virgo cruise was only for the weekend & there's no way filming has finished , since the movie will be 90% onboard Superstar Virgo while the other 10% will consist of scenes in Singapore which I assumed that 10% portion has been already done I assume shooting for the movie will be finished by the time before the Olympics start in London since Sakurai has to go to London personally to cover the event but yeah I'm sure there will be another round of them coming back here to shoot onboard Superstar Virgo Today's the live broadcast of News Zero in Japan so I'm sure Sakurai is already back in Tokyo & he probably will be back again soon to continue shooting for Nazotoki |

Jun Matsumoto is turning into a brass band conductor, Sho Sakurai a soccer player, and Kazunari Ninomiya has just finished shooting his drama on the edge of a 20 metro cliff for this year’s 24 Hr TV, reports Sports Hochi, Sponichi Annex, Sankei Sports, and Nikkan Sports on June 10. “２４時間テレビ３５『愛は地球を救う』(24Hr Television / Love Saves the Earth’)” is being hosted by Johnny’s group Arashi this year, and new details about their special programs have been revealed. Matsumoto will conduct the brass band at a high school in Ishinomaki, a town devastated by last year’s tsunami. It has been reported Matsumoto had no plans to conduct at first. The band had been invited to perform in Tokyo’s Budokan, where the 24Hr TV special will be aired from, to express their gratitude to everyone who has supported their community and to tell people they are doing their best to rebuild their lives. But after Matsumoto had visited the school in June, the students invited the Arashi member to lead them as they prepared for their Tokyo performance. Having no conducting experience, Matsumoto has since been learning the fundamentals from Japanese conductor Yutaka Sado. “He said the most important thing is to draw together all of the thoughts of each and every musician, become a part of their music-making, and to have fun. I had also heard that after the tsunami, Sado-san had been involved with organizations which had donated instruments to their school. Maybe it’s fate,” Matsumoto said. Just north of Ishinomaki, a high school soccer team in Rikuzentakada had been invited by Sakurai and FIFA Women’s World Player of the Year Homare Sawa to play a match in memory of their team member Shiori Koyama. It has been reported the Mizusawa UFC Princess player had a dream of becoming a World Cup soccer player but she was lost in the tsunami which hit Rikuzentakada on March 11, 2011. Despite the fact Sawa and a number of her team mates were preparing for the London Olympics, the women’s soccer team INAC Kobe made time for a match against their juniors earlier this month. Sakurai joined the Tohoku team as a special member as the two sides played off in a 30 minute match. “It was incredible. Even the heavy rain stopped while we were having the match. I think Shiori-san was watching us,” Sakurai said. It has been reported over in Shizuoka prefecture, Ninomiya had been filming the climax scene to his special drama “車イスで僕は空を飛ぶ (Kuruma-isu de Boku wa Sora wo Tobu)”. In the drama, Ninomiya plays a good-for-nothing teenager who gets in a fight which leaves him paralysed from the waist down. Wanting to end his life, he drags himself and his wheelchair to the edge of a 20 metro cliff. Kanjani 8 members to expose the secrets of Arashi on “Arashi ni Shiyagare”
It was announced that popular group Kanjani 8 will be making an appearance as a guest on NTV’s “Arashi ni Shiyagare Natsu no 90-pun Kakudai Special” together with the MCs of the program, Arashi. The 12 guys will have a “secret talk” together. Though 5 out of 7 Kanjani 8 members have appeared on the same program back in August 2011, this will be the first time for the members to appear on it altogether. Reportedly, Kanjani 8 members will expose the secrets of Arashi members on the “rumour” corner, such as an Arashi member who ignored Nishikido Ryo’s mail, an Arashi member who Murakami Shingo wants to ask for Taxi fare, and more. Masaki Aiba will support amputee athlete in his 24Hr TV special
Details about Arashi’s Masaki Aiba’s “２４時間テレビ３５『愛は地球を救う』(24Hr Television / Love Saves the Earth’)” special program were announced on July 16, reports Mainichi Shimbun. The Johnny’s talent will cheer on 17-year-old Miho Fujii as she climbs to the peak of Yukushima. The island in southern Japan is where one of the oldest trees in the world (the Jomon Sugi) is located. It has been reported Aiba will be supporting Miho from the Nihon Budokan in Tokyo, while a TV crew will try and feed live footage of the teenager on her climb to the tree. It will not be easy either. The whole climb is 20 kilometres there and back, goes up 1300 metres, and is expected to take 10 hours. The challenger, Miho, is an amputee runner who is currently in her high school’s track team and is hoping to take part in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. “I hope that I can support Miho-san with everyone in the country to watch over her, see how far she can go, and see that moment where she achieves her goal,” Aiba said. The TV crew will also make history as it will be the first time live footage is sent out from the area. Arashi to Hold "AraFes" in Tokyo National Olympic Stadium

The festival will happen at the Tokyo National Olympic Stadium where the group had concert tours before. Furthermore, the Johnny's group have also planned to have a National Tour next year before the Olympic stadium closes for renovation. The AraFes song setlist will also be decided by fan voting. Fans can choose their favorite from 240 Arashi songs and vote via Johnny's mobile site. Voting will start from July 21st until 6PM on July 31st. Lastly, as their way of giving back to their fans, "AraFes" will not have any Johnny's Juniors as support. Arashi holding ‘AraFes’ concerts at National Stadium until it closes in 2013
Johnny & Associates announced on July 20th that Arashi will be holding its concert at the National Olympic Stadium in Tokyo on September 20th and 21st. Arashi has held its concerts at the National Stadium for the last 5 years since 2008. It’s confirmed that the 2013 concert will also be held at the venue before it closes on March 19th for a large-scale renovation in preparation for a bid to host the 2020 Summer Olympics. “AraFes” meaning “Arashi’s Festival” is the theme for this and next year’s concerts. The concert repertoire will be centered around a list of songs voted for by fans on Johnny’s official homepage. This is the first time that fans requests are incorporated into the concert and the idea came from Arashi members themselves. Aiba Masaki (29) from Arashi commented, “Since National Olympic Stadium will be having a large-scale renovation after two years, we want to do something different for these last concerts held there. We want to hold a concert that is Arashi’s ‘Best of Best’. ” Concerts of Johnny’s Jimusho usually feature large numbers of back-up dancers from Johnny’s Jr, but it’s revealed that this concert will have just the five Arashi members performing for the audience. The said documentary is to commemorate the 110th birth anniversary of Walt Disney, the man behind Mickey Mouse and its expansion to entertainment, animation, and theme park empire that it is today. Ohno, who gets to monopolized Mickey Mouse since no one was there, promises a fulfilling report about his travel. The documentary will have Ohno traced the roots of Disney whose goal in life is to deliver dreams to everyone. The said annual charity event have chosen Arashi as their main host for the 3rd time. The future-themed t-shirts have sold 596,203 in just a month and a half. They have surpassed the 2008 record with 458,306 shirts. Furthermore, at the rate of 2,000 t-shirts sold each day, the Nara-Ohno collaboration might even surpass 600,000 sales. The front design of the t-shirts represent a child whose huge eyes was painted with the word "future" (将来); it also has a sprout on its head that represents "a new beginning". New compilation album Ura-Ara-Mania

They will include "rare" tracks, songs that are popular in concerts, and hidden tracks. The album package will not include photos of the members. The preorder starts 8/16 to 8/23 (24:00) and is only available through J-Storm website, and only those with a valid Japanese address may order. Never would have thought they included Sketch in the tracklist but I say most of the B-sides , I recongise the titles Even if Ura-Ara-Mania is made available to be sold to the general public , I still will not buy it . I don't have any incentive especially if you have all their singles from their debut until Your Eyes 6,000 Yen for this doesn't seem like a good investment to me either |

Arashi might be this year’s Kohaku music special hosts
Arashi might be picked up to be NHK’s New Year’s Eve music special hosts for the third time, reports Tokyo Sports on September 7. It has been reported NHK producers are beginning to look for potential hosts for Kohaku Uta Gassen’s red (akagumi) female artist team, and white (shirogumi) male artist team. “A production team for the show has been finalised, and now they’ve begun discussions about what to do this year. At this rate, Arashi will probably be asked to be the shirogumi hosts for the third straight year,” said one source from NHK. Although no one can definitely say this will happen, there is no denying the fact the group attracted TV ratings of over 40% in their past two Kohaku shows. Arashi announces the big Dome tour + New album
On September 20th, popular group Arashi held the first day of their 2-day live “AraFes” at the National Olympic Stadium. At the concert more than 70,000 were in the audience and it was announced that they would be releasing a new album “Popcorn” on October 31st, and holding a big Dome tour. Starting at Kyocera Dome Osaka on November 16th, Arashi will make the rounds in the 5 big Domes of Japan (Kyocera Dome Osaka, Sapporo Dome, Fukuoka Yahoo! JAPAN Dome, Tokyo Dome, and Nagoya Dome). With a total of 16 performances, and including this 2-day “AraFes” concert, the total number of audience will reach 870,000 people for 18 performances. As announced previously, this ”AraFes” concert was different from Arashi’s regular concerts, as its set list was based on fans’ requests which were sent about 270,000 of them. Arashi performed about 40 songs that were ranked top among their singles, tracks from albums, as well as the coupling songs. I read that tracklist somewhere else and doubled over, over Matsujuns song title! Then I read it again and saw that it says something different from what I read. Couldn't have imagined a title like that for Arashi or any Johnnys group really. But I was really shocked for a moment. :D

funny that MatsuJun's solo song title is the longest but yet it's amusing
let alone it sounds quite vulgar too D: D: D: I honestly only look forward to Ohno's as he can't do wrong & he can sing basically any type of song without any problems . I don't know for the rest but I'll be open to being surprised , just like what I had with Sakurai's Kono Mama Motto & Nino's Doko ni Demo Aru Uta. Although this time round , I just have the feeling Nino's Sore wa Yappari Kimideshita is going to be a ballad yet again :x but anything's better than Gimmick Game for sure |
Aiba Masaki, Best Jeanist for 2nd consecutive year!
Jeanist award is given to celebrities who suit jeans the best. On its 29th edition, “Best Jeanist 2012″ was awarded to Aiba Masaki and Kuroki Meisa, after general election. This is the second consecutive year Aiba gets the said award. “After standing here last year and being able to stand here yet again it’s something I wasn’t expecting. I have to say to people who voted for me, thank you very much. Truth is you can wear jeans or denim in pretty much any ocassion, though I wear it most outside shooting locations. I’m truly honored by this, thank you very much”, he said while receiving the award. This ceremony has been held since 1984, awarded to Kimura Takuya (1994〜1998), Kusanagi Tsuyoshi (1999〜2003), Domoto Tsuyoshi (2004), awarding members of the agency for 11 years in a row.
