Last Angel again? DO NOT WANT! :no
|
Hope she'll keep Last Angel *_*
Maybe thats song about current situation? Quote:
|
I wish she would of just added Last angel instead of replaced call...
I love call! |
she could have added like a doll =\
|
Quote:
It's one of my most loved songs of Ayu. So sad she does not perform it=( |
hopefully in the final there will be call, letter and like a doll in the encore or in the main setlist :P

ayu looks so beautiful in the PQ shoot pictures. I am happy they made this book, too bad it can't be bought by everyone. |

I like call and Letter,too=) |
I really hope she does something special for the final.
that would be amazing... Still waiting for the next 7 days final again! |

Can't wait for the ayupans. XD |
I bet they're gonna do a light-up dress Ayupan, haha.
|
That whould be cool *_*
I want a Kittymaid Ayupan NOW XD |
A light up ayupan with an extra long dress (like a cone) and sparkly light up crown. It could double as a xmas star for the top of your tree. :mischief
|
^would be wonderful! xD

I whould cry if tnL + E,S,M whould not be on the DVD .-. I was so sad that i had to leave while tnL...
But they are in the main segment and are from the newest album, I doubt she will exchange it. |
TnL really fit SO well with her voice and the performance was cute
|
WOW... i didnt notice, but does that black dress light up and change colors???
|
Lol I said it a bunch of times but it never got added to the top page...Yes, yes it does.
|
^ lol I must've mentioned the dress changing a bunch of times, too, in both my reviews as well. I know the second time I watched it, I was definitely paying a lot of attention to see what colors the dress would change into!!
AND WHAT WHAT LAST ANGEL!!! That's one of my FAVORITE Ayu songs. I knew there would be a fantastic setlist change at a concert I wouldn't attend LOL. It's not really an encore song, but she's done it so extravagantly before that it'd be nice to see her tone it down so much for once. |
^LOL maybe we should add that the dress changes color in our signatures? ;) And I didn't notice the crown of the veil had lights too lol and I KNOW we literally talked about wanting Last Angel performed the entire day haha
|
I think just about everyone brought up the dress changing colors at some point if they saw the concert but not everyone reads all of the reviews.

Ugh, she replaced gems like Call/Letter with the WORST single off Love songs. Really? And it really doesn't help that Last Angel is notorious for sounding worse live than it ever did on the album itself (which itself must surely be a feat, I guess).

^HOPEFULLY by a summer single ;D

NO keep it! Last angel is freaking amazing do want to hear live.
Although I would settle for call. |
I agree, keep last angel!!

But I don´t mind if is like fairyland :P |
Quick A-nation update:
the official site states that information about artists at Stadium concerts will be revealed in early June... So there's no info at this point whether Ayu participates or not. |
I think Ayu is probably 99.9% confirmed for a-nation. Without her... it's just weird, haha.
|
I remember in 2008, Ayu was never mentioned to appear at a-nation, so I planned my Japan trip to arrive on the 1st of Sept. About 2 weeks, maybe even 1 week before the actual date (29-08) it was announced that Ayu would actually be appearing after all, but I couldn't change my flight plans that close to departure so I missed out on seeing her. Biggest regret of my life. :(
So don't count her out yet, she usually announces her participation very close to the performance dates at the latest. |
She should perform both call and last angel :)
|
I guess I'll know if there are any changes to the setlist as I'm going to tonight's show!! I'd like for her to perform call or letter, though.
|
Have fun at the concert, Yatsuda!
|
Just met njayrp @ Yokohama. He is so excited for his first ayu show:) it was cute.

Have fun you both^^ |

Lots of people seem to have gone to tonight's show. I hope everyone had fun!! One person on my FB commented on being excited about a "HOTEL Love songs final stage". I wonder if something like that was announced at the show, or if they were just commenting on being excited for upcoming shows. |

Well, Evolution7/4 does seen to be a cute person anyway :P Just like Nem-chan, hope he enjoys the concert!

What song she sang in encore?
|
Wow she performed Last angel during encore? I wonder why...
|
She sang Last Angel during last night encore!
|
Just gonna give a quick rundown since other people have already reviewed the show.
I thought last nights show was really good. Her voice was good I thought. It is basically a rehash of CDL and the dancers do take precedence in most of the show. Maybe its because I came in with low expectations though, but I actually liked this show better than I liked CDL. My favorite part was surprisingly Eyes, Smoke, Magic and THe Next Love. :) They are much better live than on the CD. On the other hand NaNaNa is much better on the CD than live; the crowd surprisingly wasn't really into this one. Shake it got a very good response though. The addition of Last Angel doesn't feel out of place because just before they have "Dance show time" which is basically a group number and some individual numbers to a medley of Ayu trance songs. So the trance music transitions into Last Angel pretty well. The Return Road dress looks alot better in person. There really is no 'WOW' moment in this tour. There are a lot more videos in this tour than usual and they were longer than usual. I felt it was too much actually - I would have much rather seen more songs. I went to this show with my boyfriend here (he is Japanese) and this was his first time seeing Ayu. My b-day is soon so we went as part of my b-day present. He is not an Ayu fan but he doesn't dislike her though, he just simply isn't very familiar with her or her music. He knows Boys and Girls and Seasons and that's about it. :) But it was interesting to hear the perspective of someone who isn't a die hard fan. After the first couple of songs he said "so this is Ayu's I just got divorced tour" lol. You really do get that feeling - almost the whole show has a running theme of men being bad. He thought the setlist felt short and the videos were too long and too many. But overall he enjoyed it and liked that there was always something going on onstage. |
Interesting. I think more videos should please people who have been dying for more of those in her tours lately. It'll probably translate better in the DVD/Blu-ray.
I feel like there isn't really meant to be a 'wow' moment in this concert. Like previous tours, she seems to have toned down on that since 2008 onward. 2009 - she had a seat that she sat on at the end that floated in the air 2010 - chair in the beginning, champagne glasses, "flower petal" rain + LED rain, interactions with the amazing screen 2011 - stripped down concert for the most part until LIMITED EDITION, 360 degree stage 2012 - light up dress, sitting in an airborne chair, beds that rotate, doors that are reminiscent of the 'hotel rooms', lowered down from the sky like an elevator IMO though, this tour is probably her most cohesive from what I've heard compared to her last few tours. Maybe on par with POWER of MUSIC? |
Well, she sang Last Angel last night... oh well, will we ever hear call or letter live?
I'd read reports of the show so I pretty knew what to expect... still, this tour is so different from the previous ones I don't know what to think. I really enjoyed her performances (wow, her voice is just so powerful!) but I really do miss the MCs... and I could've done without the little movies (I guess it's just a matter of personal taste). I found the fans lacked energy where I was sitting... but I had a great time at Ayu's Hotel, ehehe!! She gave a good show! |
SunshineSlayer, thanks for your report ! The show didn't run any longer than 2.5 hours did it (if you remember)?
I'm just wondering whether I should stay in Shizuoka overnight or bother try and get the last train back to Tokyo after the concert... |
from the set list the show does seem shorter....
Its said really... I want to see this show, but at the same time... i really dont want to fly out to japan to something that seems... medium... |
Quote:
2 more things I forgot to mention - Yeah, I kinda miss the MC too. There was a short one where her and Timmy talked basically about nothing for a minute. The other thing I remember is in my section, there were several fans that were laughing during the abusive relationship videos and that section of the concert on stage because it did come across as too over the top imo. |
^was that me and my friend? We were making fun of that...
|
Gosh...I can already imagine my friends rolling their eyes when we watch this tour.
I'm not one for all the random videos...especially if they're THAT over the top lol I was already annoyed last tour as well with all the interludes and stuff. Oh well. Also not happy about the dancers...but that was expected. It's the wait until the dvd for me on this one. |
xD I was so excited and completely lost as there were just way too many people around the arena.
anyways the concert was stunning! i couldn't believe i was there and i was overwelmed by the whole atmosphere. a few japanese fans were behind me and they were singing and yelling so i was doing the same xD SURREAL, evolution, Boys & Girls, Party queen, STEP you and Love song seemed to be among the favored songs of the show judging from the reactions, tnough ayu had a huge applouse after eyes, smoke, magic. everyone was also excited for appears. She nailed Last angel. You could barely notice the dancers and the back vocals n all those things that bother u on dvds just arent there somehow. ayus vocals were really good 90% of the time, yes some songs didnt sound perfect, but it was nothing horrible. she screamed a bit during reminds me and the chorus of return road and ladies night was meh, but the rest was really good. loved her voice! the fans werent as dead as they seem on dvds, they're much louder and more hyped! more details when i get back home cuz its hard to type on 3ds! @SunshineSlayer - too bad we couldn't meet after the show, i am leaving on wednesday morning, so if u have time on tuesday evening do let me know! i had so much fun and i'll really try to come next year as well =D |
Funny, at the saitama shows the audience was generally moved and disturbed by the interlude videos. Glad to hear her voice is put up well, it really was great during the show and yes that Return Road dress is beautiful live
|
i wonder what you mean by over the top?
|
I think that by 'over the top' he/she means
forced or over dramatic and poorly acted i guess:-/ ? I tend to skip that part of concert when too many dancers start to show up when she is changing outfits, and that goes for videos as well but if i find them interesting i watch them |
Yeah, more people were just...shocked, I guess, by the interlude videos. Yes, Ayu's videos tend to be over-the-top, but I think people weren't expecting THAT, the abuse, to happen. Kinda shocked to hear people were laughing, though. The audiences at the Saitama shows were dead silent.
And @SunshineSlayer - Funny how people weren't responsive for NaNaNa at these shows. People were in AWE during the performances - mostly by all the laser lights and the "tick tick tock" dancing parts. Other than that, yeah, it wasn't THAT great of a performance, but certainly not a lackluster performance, either. |
^ so there is actual physical abuse going?
|
Quote:
With NaNaNa on Saturday, at first we couldn't hear Ayu singing "tick tick tick", her voice was really low and weak... and yeah, people in my end weren't too into it... So... I still don't know how I feel about the concert and the "new" way she's doing it. While I DID enjoy it, there are some parts I could've done without. I still really want to buy the DVD when it comes out, ehehe! |

I hope I can make it next year too so I can die piecefully |
WHAT?! A high kick to the fast???
Who kicks who? |
Quote:
I always love watching her useless talking during MCs when I have subtitles... But as this not the case most of the time (and I know zero Japanese), I just skip it most of the time... |
Oh, so it's hilariously over the top in the sense that it's just like "Wait did that just happen" HAHAHA." and not what I thought, haha.
|
^ Well and it kinda feels like it goes on for a long time - like people started snickering because they didn't need to keep getting beaten over the head with the message.(metaphorically speaking of course)

In the MC she was saying that performing in Kanto was like coming back home... "tadaima"... and that's about it, yes. She did exchange... pleasantries with Timmy, but nothing much. Oh well. I miss the MCs from the early days... hearing her sing the Boss CM song at the T.A. live Zepp Fukuoka back in 2003 was just so priceless.
Maybe Ayu's just not in the mood to do MCs right now... |
She seems to save the super long MCs for the last sets of shows nowadays.
|
I wonder if she was told by her vocal coach to shorten them to preserve her voice or something.

I'll go change it. |
Got my tickets for Osaka. :D They're arena floor seats row 8. However they're seats 69/70 out of 72 (equivalent to A4 block). Really hope I'm not too far on the side with these tickets.

But 2 Japan trips in one year is just too expensive <.< |
I think I would rather go to the CDL because its the start of her 15th year... she should do something amazing.

^That's what I thought too when I went to CDL 07-08 but nothing huge really happend. :laugh
Still, it was my first time to see Ayu live so I was more than pleased anyways. |

I payed 16 500 yen for row 33 for Fukuoka show and still don't know the seat number :-) |
Yahoo Auctions. Anything that was guaranteed middle seating (for example description would say seats 15-40) of the first 10-15 rows was selling for closer to 30,000 yen. This auction just said arena floor "rows 5 to 8" without any seat numbers. I took a gamble buying them, not knowing where along the row I'd be. Should have seen that no seat numbers in auction description meant they weren't the best but oh well. It's my first Ayumi concert and they are still great seats. I will love it anyway.

Good for you, I'm glad Osaka tickets are much cheaper. |
So I am back...without my luggage for now...still back nevertheless. Japan was awesome! So about the concert:
L'arc en Ciel had their 20th Anni. concert at Nissen Stadium which is pretty close to Yokohama arena so there were many people trying to get to Yokohama at the same time. Now the trains were packed with fans wearing all sorts of tour goods. While I was trying to get to the arena I've noticed there were many people who just bought a couple of items and then headed back (they are most likely attending another tour date?). When we finally reached the arena grounds we've noticed the line for the goods was terribly long, but still decided to wait cuz we had another hour before the doors open. There were so many people cosplaying Ayu and some of the dancers, most notably SHU-YA and there was a guy with exactly the same hairstyle and everyone was like OMG SHU-YA! xD People actually took more than 2hrs to get to their seats so the concert was around 20 mins late (it actually started the moment they closed the gates). I didn't mind the videos, I don't think they were actually that long and some were fun...while some were a snooze fest, but there was almost always something going on on the stage as well, so I wasn't bored for a moment + those are a great chance to sit down and rest up a bit! Happening here was a great opener, I was really hyped and the people around me were singing Every morning, every night so I sang along as well. Ayu's vocals pleasantly surprised me. She was consistent during the whole night and I was surprised she could actually hit some notes the way we haven't heard her do in a long time. Even my friend's boyfriend who is Japanese but doesn't listen to/like Ayu said he sounds way better than the last time he's heard her. Now the ballads were nice to hear and even though I prefer listening to them, the upbeat songs like Shake it! and Sparkle were so much fun live. Everyone seems to have digged Ayu's koneko-chan costume for Shake it/STEP you xD I was kinda disappointed she didn't sing the whole STEP you, but the short version without the second verse :( NaNaNa was also pretty fun and I liked her vocals with less vocoders, Timmy sounded a bit dead though. Now the next LOVE performance was somewhat boring, but her vocals were really solid and when Eyes, Smoke, Magic started everyone was clapping during the whole song and Ayu has really done a great job with this one vocally. Return Road had one of the more interesting performances for me as you could actually follow what's going on xD but she kinda messed up the choruses a bit. Party queen - definitely one of the best performances of the night. The lasers and all the lights looked awesome and the part where she started singing "I am a lonely queen" was just epic. After that the whole arena started screaming "Ayuuu!". Ladies night was actually not so much fun live >_> but SURREAL~evolution definitely made up for that. Love song was just too amazing <3 and her vocals during Last angel were probably the best so far! I was kinda glad the MC wasn't long because my Japanese knowledge is limited, so this way I got most of what she was saying. During the encore she also asked everyone if they think the concert was ok. I had so much fun during those 2 hrs. I barely noticed Timmy, Shu-ya and the back vocals. In other words all the things that tend to annoy me on DVDs just don't seem to be that important when you're actually there. |
^thats sounds so awesome!!!!!! This tour sounds really magnificent in its own way haha!! Im so glad for all of u who went and for Ayu as well. Cant wait to see the bluray (which is probably out in a years time lol)
|

I was row 40 seat 63/64. (out of 72 i guess) but i was still close to the stage. My row was ap. the heigh of the center stage, so Ayu was ao. 15m away from me when walking over the catwalk^^ |

MOAHAHA!
I might actually get to go to an ayu concert! I arrive in time for the Osaka/Shizuoka/Fukuoka ones. It'll probably be Shizuoka that's likely, as I'll be arriving in Tokyo July 20th. Is it hard to get these tickets, and how much should I expect to pay for it? Thanks for answers! ^^ |

I was planning on going again this year because CDL is really amazing (just the whole concept behind it, and the amount of older songs you get to see live). But then I'm like, to hell with it, after going to the last two CDLs I may as well go to an arena tour just once (even though it's disappointing the arena tour I go to is the one that's most similar to a CDL, which I also went to...). Problem with CDL though is tickets are hell expensive. All four I've bought were on yahoo auctions or at the ticket reseller in Tokyo, and I paid so much for them. With the arena tour however I managed to buy my ticket first hand! --- Also, does anyone know why the last two Fukuoka dates are not up on any of the online ticket websites (like eplus)? It's super strange... |
AWW reading more and more reviews i want to go! LOL....
but I still might wanna wait for the CDL.... |

I know they haven't started yet - but the websites still don't listen the concerts, and the Shizuoka shows which are only two weeks before, have already had TWO pre-order lotteries... (that's how I got my ticket), so I'm wondering why they aren't going to do that for the Fukuoka shows... (or if they will but not for another few weeks)?
I just thought they'd list everything at the same time. @Roanmy, depends on how you're going to get your tickets. You basically have three options - get first hand from official sales (which is hard unless you enter in the lottery), buy online, or wait until you're in Japan and go to a ticket reseller. Actually there's also a fourth option but I wouldn't ever consider it - buying from the scalpers outside the concerts. (They're old and creepy and most likely linked to yakuza). Depending when and where you buy your ticket, and where the seat is, you can expect to pay aroudn 10,000 to 20,000 yen for it. You should also look up the seating charts for the respective arenas before you make a decision on a second hand ticket so you know what you're paying for. It's not that difficult to buy from resellers in Japan, the only thing is if you're most likely going to Shizuoka or Fukuoka, I have no idea if or where they have resellers there, and they mightn't even have resellers in those cities, especially Shizuoka - which is more confusing seeing as the concert isn't even in Shizuoka (the city), but closer to Hamamatsu (if you're taking the shinkansen from Tokyo)... |
Quote:
I guess with mine I'll be kind-of close regardless of whether she's on the stage or on the catwalk. Only time she might be 15m away from me is if she walks over to the right side of the stage. Can't remember if she moves much from the centre of the stage to the sides during concerts? I think she does it more often during the encore? Should I go to the 2nd Osaka concert as well? Worth seeing the exact same show twice? If so I'll probably get a cheaper arena seated ticket. |
I definatly whould if you have the chance to get some cheap tickets.
Whould try reseller on the day of the show, or maybe scalpers, you might get a good deal^^ ahhhhh I want the blu-ray now, I want to see the concert again ._. |
@Tony G: If you can go to 2 shows, go! That's what I did and I've never regretted it!! If you can, try to get tickets that are in different areas for both shows.
1st show I was on the arena floor. And 2nd show I was up on the 2nd level. It was great, I had 2 different views/perspectives of the show. Quote:
