Officially, Ayumi is not shoving her relationship on our faces... Officially she was using Maro as a random extra for her video, on the same way she is doing with several of her dancers since 2002/2003, and using him as a random model for again cover, on the same way she already did used random models before (to the point of his face never appearing on again booklet)

And officially a tabloid leaked their relationship and they decided to just open up about it instead of denying.

As I see no point or advantage for her on portraying her own relationship as abusive and fated to fail, as the triology does, I really doubt this is either fake or all a publicity stunt.

Honestly, I can't see her relationship with Maro as being a publicity stunt. Only because Maro has so much drama in his own life and none of it is really positive as far as the tabloids report, so it really would hurt Ayu's image more than anything. And in Japan negative publicity can kill a career.

it depends.... if you keep in mind that you don't really get to know anyone for sure, then you can try and stay a tiny bit distant of all what's said or shown, especially with celebrities. The only thing you can actually take for granted is probbaly only the music and the way they portray it on stage. Everything else? i don't know.
But sure we all have out own made portraits of the artists we love and we do believe them. The question is should we actually blame them for not standing to that and "ruining" them in our heads by something we never thought they might do?

I mean, obviously the twitter comments are way over the top, but apart from that she said she didn't want discussions on there anyway, right? So I doubt it will help as she declared TA being her site to communicate about problems.

As everyone said already, it's not about the content or the new album (which really is quite a nice package to me), but about the way this was promoted. It was just mishandled, and "LOVE" as well as "again" had false advertisement. Saying they were "mini albums" not "singles" having original content.
Same goes for "You & Me" on A SUMMER BEST, which was said to be on there exclusively, too.
If they had labeled "LOVE" and "again" as preludes to the new album to begin with (like they do now on her official homepage), no one would feel betrayed now.

Ayu/Avex never listens to fans, there's no point. The reason why Ayu's career is how it is now is because Ayu doesn't really compromise or adapt.
