No I was not refering to those (as you pointed out, those are NHK hosted), but to TV Asahi's events (I believe it was hosted by TV Asahi but they could have been only partners of some sorts but I strongly remember seeing ads). Don't remember the name though, but I attended one of those on my very first trip to Japan.

That being said, if they really want to make their 55th anniversary very special, they'll most likely be filming this. I don't see the point for a TV channel to host such an event with so many big names and not take the opportunity to broadcast it lol. That would be quite ironical to me.

Edit: googled a bit, and TV Asahi hosted a few Dream festivals, at least one in 2011, and it was partially broadcasted.
I think the event I attended in 2005 wasn't the same "Dream Festival" but it was indeed promoted by Asahi TV.

ayumisrael 20th August 2013 09:30 PM

It the "mini rainbow house" the opened it last year and this year for a-nation. Like a small ayu related place with goodies and apparently today she was there with her team.

Thanks. I'm trying to plan a trip to Japan right now and the main reason for going is to see her in concert.

SunshineSlayer 9th September 2013 12:27 AM

So, I got a ticket for the Dream Festival. There are 6 artists and the concert is expected to last from 3pm until at least 9pm. So, each artist should have at least 1 hour setlists.

ayu-michan 9th September 2013 02:39 AM

Yes, you're right... They're only showing short clips, no interviews from Ayu herself here... (unless NHK asks Ayu to do so)

Doubtful. It starts at 3 and ends at 9. I'll be going. :) I wish they would announce the order of performances though.

Looking at last years set lists, each artist performs 7-8 songs. So we might get a repeat of the a-nation set list, though I hope for something new.

Me too. Give us a nice little review after darl? :)

SunshineSlayer 21st September 2013 12:21 AM

^Yep, expect my report! :) I'm expecting a setlist full of hits most likely - since it will be an audience that isn't necessarily her fans specifically. I'm also looking forward to VAMPS. I wonder who will perform last? Domoto Tsuyoshi also should be interesting - the rest I can do without. haha

Ayu needs to be doing more of these kinds of festivals. Not just A-Nation - that's already preaching to the choir. She needs to get her music out to new people.

Oh. And yeah I agree she should put her music out there, even performing on the TV shows would be good at this point.

SunshineSlayer 21st September 2013 11:54 AM

Domoto tsuyoshi just went, next is Ayu. I hope not too many people are leaving though. :( it was clear by crowd reaction that domoto tsuyoshi was actually the main draw!

ayumisrael 21st September 2013 11:56 AM

So why not saving him for last?

SunshineSlayer 21st September 2013 11:58 AM

That's a question for the promoters.
He is the only performer everyone stood for.
I just caught a glimpse backstage - I saw rule costumes.

AyuWorld 21st September 2013 12:43 PM

^
a question, why is he so popular? i found that when hes singing hes quite boring, thats my opinion

and you can see the costume?, how?? :O

SunshineSlayer 21st September 2013 01:12 PM

Set list was basically same as a nation but no medley or July 1st. She ended with boys and girls.

She put on a great performance. She always puts in energy, but tonight it seemed she was trying extra hard. Vocally the first couple of songs were kinda rough. But by Hanabi things got a lot better. She gave the performance if the night with Hanabi 1 and 2 back to back.

Now, the audience......the only artist with full attendance was domoto tsuyoshi. He is also the only one that everyone stood for and were into his performance from start to finish. I don't want to say that a lot of people left after his set, but it was enough to be noticeable - just around me alone- the 4 seats to my right opened up and half the row behind me left. Even worse, although the audience really got into evolution, a steady stream of people left after evolution! But just like Ayu herself, the fans that were there, myself included were putting in double the effort with our cheering! It really was a great performance, but it was sad seeing empty seats and people leaving. :(

AyUmIXx 21st September 2013 01:24 PM

^ oh that's sad T__T
but we'll get to see the live performance rite? are they gonna broadcast?

SunshineSlayer 21st September 2013 02:20 PM

Every artist except tsuyoshi had empty seats though. I think hers was more noticeable because she performed last.

Official set:
Inspire
Rule
Moments
Hanabi
Hanabi 2
Surreal-evolution
You and me
Boys and girls

ayu-butterfly 21st September 2013 04:11 PM

I'm sad the audience didn't appreciate her as she deserves.

ayumisrael 21st September 2013 04:29 PM

It doesn't seem as noticable from pictures though, it's like almost all seats are taken and the place is packed, maybe it's not that bad as a high precent of the place was still occupied? but I understand what you mean SunshineSlayer maybe it's just some parts of rows/sits but not that serious? SunshineSlayer, how much percents of the capacity of the crowd who were still there would you consider giving from what you saw?

Btw I believe HANABI and HANABI ~epside II~ weren't on this year's a-nation but on the last year's one? The setlist is good anyway, all of these songs are great and well SURREAL~evolution and Boys & Girls are signature, no expectations to not see them lol. I kinda miss though to 2 things 1. ayu singing SURREAL with a "mysterious feel" like before it became a crowd song. 2. ayu should start evolution with the "La la la..."

I don't remember if Domoto Tsuyoshi was on the FNS Summer Festival but I saw most of the show and the crowd wasn't as energetic on other artist's performances as ayu's, nor the camera men shot much of the crowd until ayu's performance (maybe for that reason) IIRC.

tokyoxjapanxfan 21st September 2013 04:53 PM

Johnny's fans are notorious for leaving after sets. Most Japanese people who are -into- Johnny's...are -into- Johnny's. Like, no room for other people lol.

Also, during a-nation, it's the same way. TONS of people leave during Ayu's set, because getting out of a-nation takes forever since there are so many people. And once Ayu's cart thing starts, they don't allow people in the arena area to leave their seats until the cart segment is finished, meaning people start leaving before it starts. Plus when the concert ends, if you don't get out fast enough, they'll stop people from leaving just to control the flow of people better.

Ayu still draws in a large amount of people, but people still won't stay unless they're truly interested in her.

Livey~ 21st September 2013 05:03 PM

^ I see the point, but isn't it a bit unkind? :headache

.

It's hard to see from that picture, but I was sitting in the stands so I had an overhead view and could see better. However even in that pic you can see an entire row of unoccupied seats on the arena floor and any dark spot spot in the stands is probably an empty seat. It's hard to say accurately how many as the unoccupied seats were scattered throughout. But very rough estimate I would say it was 80-85% full when she started and about 70% full by the time she ended. Something like that. The fans that were there specially for Ayu though did a good job with supporting her though.

mizuki-7 21st September 2013 05:34 PM

Be the last performer isn't so good in the end lol

njanjayrp 21st September 2013 10:44 PM

Last year in Yokohama people started leaving during or before how beautiful you are because it isn't so easy to get out as it can get really crowded...So it's not that strange and I don't think the majority of those people have anything against Ayu. It's just the matter of convenience.

AyUmIXx 22nd September 2013 01:01 AM

anyway how about the outfits?
are they the same with a-nation?

SunshineSlayer 22nd September 2013 02:33 AM

^Yes, they were the same.

pimenta 22nd September 2013 03:41 AM

It's normal for people to leave early to avoid the crowd, if people don't care so much for the last artist presenting it's better for them to leave early than to wait for the mess that it is after the show ends. That's why they put important artists for the last acts, and according to SunshineSlayer, around 70% stayed until the end, in a concert with many different artists that's a lot of people that stayed to watch Ayu perform. If it was a less known artist, the arena would probably be much more empty at the end...

Ayu must be used to that for sure, she's the last performer so frequently she certainly knows that not everyone will wait just to watch her...

Specially considering that she pretty much repeated the a-nation performances.

jiarongisme 22nd September 2013 03:59 AM

HANABI was in the a-nation setlist, but not ~episode II~

Andrenekoi 22nd September 2013 04:07 AM

So, she kept 70% of the audience to watch her? This is far from being bad...

Yoshiaki 22nd September 2013 04:43 AM

^ Yes, I also got read from other sites like weibo... Those ppl who went there says that domoto makes all the crowd (including the non-fans people) the most high, and they says that ayu got the highest popularity...

They also mention that if domoto was to place as the last performer, there will surely be people leaving also... And the advantage of being the last performer is that, the last artist could perform additional one or two more songs...

YUKARI 22nd September 2013 06:50 PM

I don't think it's a tragedy, if some people left before the start of ayu's part.
