Yes it was but, :( Lady gaga went from queen to peasant a bit to quickly. I just noticed that Whatever lady gaga does the media/people find it amusing in a bad way. I hope she can find herself, gaga rose to fame without really figuring out what kind of artist she wants to be. I don't know. :(

I think you might be referring to ARTPOP, due to the amount of bad press it has received.

However, Gaga's sound of music tribute had almost universal acclaim ever since her performance last Sunday. If you follow her social media and stuffs [Which i think you didn't (just a wild guess, no offence)], she's in a happy place now, doing what she loves and rediscovering her passion for music through Jazz collaboration with Tony Bennett, flim project with Diana Warren and is currently working with long time producer RedOne, and Giorgio Moroder for her next album.

With regards to the second bolded statement, Gaga is a ever-changing artist, and I'm definitely excited about what she intends to explore next.

Minttulatte 1st March 2015 11:03 AM

I'm excited too. To me, she will always be the queen, no matter what she ends up doing. I see her as the best popstar this world has ever seen. She's even more awesome to me than Koda Kumi is and that says a lot on how much I love her. :heart

NintendoHTF1242 2nd March 2015 05:39 PM

Her performance of at the Oscars was amazing. When Julie Andrews came out I was about to cry lmao that was such a once in a lifetime moment.

I'm glad Gaga is doing the shit she wants to now, tbh. She's smart too. She garnered a fanbase with The Fame + The Fame Monster; then does whatever the hell she wants in regards to Born This Way + ARTPOP + Cheek to Cheek. I applaud her growth as a musician.

I have no news but I'd like to say that while learning Spanish gendered nouns (whoever thought of this I swear to god...) I got to the point where I learned that there are some words that don't agree in gender. So while studying for my test I made three categories: male, female and artpop (it can be N E Thing). Like 'feliz' and 'persona'.

If there's one thing I like from this album it has to be artPop. I use it for everything because it can mean N E Thing.

The first time I heard gaga is acting, and I was like meh..

But actually she is pretty good in the first episode!

Going to watch tonight can't wait!

tokyoxjapanxfan 15th June 2016 02:38 PM

I'm really obsessed (again) with Alejandro

I didn't like Artpop, save for GUY and Do what u want (Christina Aguilera version).

So I'm really craving a new album :-(

axmish87 15th June 2016 03:53 PM

To me Artpop was overproduced noise i listened to it twice and almost completely forgot about it.

oaristos 15th June 2016 05:17 PM

ARTPOP is not entirely bad, I listened to Do What You Want and G.U.Y a lot, but what killed the album for me was how Gaga herself dubbed it as a "masterpiece" and "the album of the millennium" :no I think she should let her music speak instead...

jean-baptiste 15th June 2016 06:04 PM

I was never really interested in Gaga till the middle of last year when I gave her music an honest listen. The Fame, Fame Monster, Born This Way are almost flawless albums. Don't know what she was thinking with Artpop. There are a lot of gems but for the most part, it doesn't compare to her previous stuff. Still haven't heard Cheek to Cheek.

So far this year in music has really impressed me. Hoping Gaga can add to it.

DonkeyKongRemix 17th June 2016 06:37 PM

I saw a picture of Gaga during her tribute speech to the Orlando shooting victims' friends and family. At first I was like, "who am I looking at here?" Only to realize it was her. I barely recognized her because I simply don't see much of her these days (I've been really out of tune with western media) plus she was dressed so simply.

I felt a twinge of appreciation towards her for that speech.

Miku 15th August 2016 12:12 AM

rikku1994 15th August 2016 09:12 AM

I thought she and Azealia has some issues tbh. I like Azealia's music tbh, but her attitude and personality is unfortunately is getting more attention than her actual talent.

pedronekoi 15th August 2016 02:57 PM

Maybe the full produced song would be better. But Azealia's attitude is the worst :(

Isicio 15th August 2016 03:43 PM

The track was for the album of azealia, if I'm not wrong. And yes Banks was so rude and out of place but I like some of her songs.

"The song is about modern ecstasy. We found our sweet, simple, ragey way of saying it," Gaga said of the anthem she co-produced with Mark Ronson and Tame Impala's Kevin Parker. "I get this sick adrenaline rush every time I hear it."

iHeart also took to their Twitter account to answer fans' questions about the new track and if their words are anything to go by, we're about to hear one of Gaga's best songs ever. "We were humming it all day," the station tweeted. "We only got to hear it once, but it was really, really good. Probably new favourite lead single, but we still love all of those too."

"I don't think there's a comparison that would make sense," a writer for iHeart Radio added when asked if "Perfect Illusion" reminded them of any other Gaga song. "It's in its own lane, but still feels right at home."

And, according to radio host Elvis Duran, one of the songs Gaga played is about something that is very special to the Germanotta family.

"Gaga did a couple of her new singles which I hear are just incredible," Elvis recalled. "She also did a song about someone very close to their family. I believe it's her father's sister passing away, and her father was in the audience when she did the song. He'd never heard her perform it. She was so real and fantastic when she sang that song. And I'm assuming knowing that her dad was right there in the room with her hearing it for the first time, it really, really brought out an award-winning performance. The whole room was in tears."

Fans have raised speculation that the track could actually be "Paradise," an unreleased song written for Gaga's jazz album with Tony Bennett. Mother Monster briefly talked about the tune in an exclusive interview with Gaga Daily back in 2014, saying: "It's inspired by my father's sister and him, and the phrases as they are traded, are meant to be their words to each other right before she died."

Isicio 19th August 2016 08:06 PM

Thank you for the news, I can't wait to listen the song!!

Minttulatte 19th August 2016 09:40 PM

I'm so excited over Gaga's comeback that I can't even believe it's true. It feels like a dream lol :D When they announced that the sequel album to Cheek to Cheek would come first, I actually felt sad and annoyed because as much as I enjoyed listening to Cheek to Cheek, I was ready for a new Gaga album instead. I was actually glad when Gaga and Tony said that the jazz album can wait until LG5 - which is actually her fourth album since TFM was a mini - is out. I totally approve their decision because it's been 3 years since ARTPOP - which is a great album in my opinion - and it's time for Gaga to really come back and show the world that she still has it in her.

jean-baptiste 19th August 2016 10:56 PM

I actually wasn't too big a fan of ARTPOP or Cheek to Cheek - I think they're good but can't be compared to her first 3 albums which I think are stellar. I'm very curious to see what she has in store, especially since I hear she collaborated with someone from Tame Impala? I really like their sound so I have high hopes.

"I went in on the first day with very open expectations," Mark recalled. "I didn't know if we would work together for two weeks or six months. I knew she was very talented, I'd seen her perform and knew how seriously she takes music. She's really a muso at heart, and is happiest when she's sitting behind the piano yelling out chord changes to the drummer or whatever. But we started working and it kind of exceeded any expectations of what I thought the music was going to be like."

He continued: "It's been one of my favourite records to work on and some of the people who have come in to play on it are my favourite musicians, writers and some of her favourites. I think it's just really good music and probably a record for people who might not have realised that her music had something for them — at least based on the small amount of people who've heard it so far. It's definitely pretty deep musically for sure."

Earlier this week, Lady Gaga announced that the lead single from the yet-untitled album is called "Perfect Illusion" and will be released in September. The track was co-produced by Gaga, Ronson, Bloodpop, and Kevin Parker.

YES! During those two eras I was such a huge Lady Gaga fan, she meant a lot to me.
But then the Born This Way album came out and I had mixed feelings. I loved songs like Marry the Night and Edge of Glory. But the music videos and album covers and a lot of the other songs on the album really turned me off. Then Artpop really made me turn away.
I feel like she used to be so creative and unique but then it turned into doing just strange and stupid stuff.
I would elaborate more but I would go on and on and fill up the page.:laugh

Lady Gaga Confirms Florence Welch Collaboration
http://i.imgur.com/mWtNYya.jpg
The rumors were true! Lady Gaga's upcoming album, due out this year, will feature a collaboration with English indie musician Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine.

"There is a feature on the album that I think you will be very excited about," Gaga told Nick Grimshaw while co-hosting BBC Radio 1's Breakfast Show earlier today. "Me and Florence Welch did a duet together. I started to work on an idea for a song that I really wanted to do with a girl. You'll see why when you hear the music and what the song is about. I just thought, 'Who do I want to sing with?' She's really to me if not the best, one of the greatest vocalists in the world. She's incredible."

Rumors of a possible collaboration between the musicians surfaced last month when Florence shared an Instagram picture of her standing in front of a blue Ford Bronco – the same custom vintage car that Gaga owns.

Lady Gaga's fifth pop album is scheduled for release later this year. The record's lead single "Perfect Illusion" dropped today and is available to purchase on all platforms.

DeepRiver 9th September 2016 09:51 PM

PI is OK ... not a BOMB but OK ... 6 from 10 ...

Zeke. 9th September 2016 10:01 PM

The song is a travesty! I thought she would return to more straightforward style electronic pop bops. Like Monster, Alejandro, Love Game. Songs that have clear cut verses and choruses, and just enough contrast between to two, with a lead-in that really builds on the anticipation and then delivers on it in full force. This is her worst lead single ever. She needs to stop making everything so dramatic.

tokyoxjapanxfan 10th September 2016 12:03 AM

I on the other hand think this is very 80s--and not immitation 80s haha.

Certain parts of the song her voice really reminded me of Stevie Nicks. The tone maybe... And I got a tinge of Stand Back vibes lol. Probably just crazy. But either way, the only issue I have is the length. It's quite a quick song. Wish it were longer.

I like it more than most of Art Pop and I enjoy that it's a bit more commercial.

EndOfTheWorld 10th September 2016 01:10 AM

For me, this song is a breath of FRESH AIR.
Usually I dread Gaga's next release but this one I liked. I find people's reaction are very strange to this song. This song is more Gaga than anything on Artpop.

Perhaps some people have forgotten who her influences are. "Gaga grew up listening to artists such as: The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Queen, Bruce Springsteen, Pink Floyd, Mariah Carey, The Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin, Whitney Houston, Elton John, Blondie, and Garbage, who all influenced her. She has cited heavy metal bands as an influence, stating that Iron Maiden "changed my life" and describing herself as "the biggest Black Sabbath fan on Earth". Gaga's musical inspiration varies from dance-pop singers like Madonna and Michael Jackson to glam rock artists like David Bowie and Freddie Mercury, as well as the theatrics of the pop artist Andy Warhol and her own performance roots in musical theater." - Wikipedia

This song is just more like her rock influences, that's all. Everyone will get their dance pop queen music within the new album sure enough.:rolleyes
I keep hoping that Lady Gaga will come back down to Earth and stop with the pretension and theatrics and maybe this song signals that.

xLuna&1LOVE 10th September 2016 03:48 AM

Not coming here to hate on Gaga or anything. Even though I am not a fan, I was pretty excited about this release. Unfortunately, and my words may be too harsh, this song is the worst I ever heard from her. I could not even finish hearing the song, (which happens rarely), because it was really cringy to listen to. The melody, her voice... really no (and these things ain't normal to say about an artist like Gaga) Still, I am looking forward to the collaboration with Florence Welch.

@EndOfTheWorld; I get that you want to make your point across, but the style of Perfect Illusion has nothing to do with what kind of artists Lady Gaga looks up to. She has clearly found her own style and this song is not special in any way; it fits Gaga's discography. Tho I am glad that the song appeals to you.

EndOfTheWorld 10th September 2016 04:38 AM

I would agree with you that she has her own style of music but it is because of her influencers that she makes the music she makes today. It's a mix of artists she loves and also her own personal creativity.
I also agree that this song isn't particularly special. While I like it, I don't love it. I haven't been a Lady Gaga fan for years but like you too, I was anticipating this release.:yes

Perfect Illusion is fucking terrible. Her vocals are so grating and I can't take her seriously with that enunciation -- what the hell is she doing?

Even the production isn't up to the what I was expecting from Mark Ronson. Everyone failed to deliver.

Same exact reasons I can't stand this song. Gaga sounds AWFUL. What happened to the vocals we got from her Sound of Music tribute? My body was so ready for that. So disappointing.

Lady Gaga's 'Perfect Illusion' Reimagined With Disco Vibe

Afraid that you might overplay Lady Gaga's new song because it's just so good? Don't worry, we've got a new remix to spice things up. Young musician and Gaga Daily reader Ethan Onyx decided to put his own spin on Gaga's "Perfect Illusion" and turned it into a funky disco anthem.

"When 'Perfect Illusion' was released, I was so blown away by the track and had it on repeat for hours, soaking in and absorbing the melodies and the lyrics," Ethan told Gaga Daily. "Because I related to the song on such a deep and personal level, I wanted to leave my mark on it in some way. I combined the pain of her lyrics and vocal delivery with a euphoric and upbeat rock/disco instrumental that I created myself to create a tears-on-the-dancefloor duality."

Perfect Illusion is a nice song. Nothing really special but it's nice.

koumori 11th September 2016 12:45 PM

Clearly in the minority here, but I enjoyed the song. It doesn't beat anything from her Fame Monster days for me but her voice, despite sounding different, stands out and it's a simple catchy track. I think it's a nice enough mainstream comeback for the album.

Corvina 11th September 2016 08:03 PM

I also like the new song.
Her voice is alright for me.
I'm not a big fan of Gaga, but she has gems here and there.

Minttulatte 12th September 2016 12:41 AM

She slayed me completely. While I did expect a really hardcore electropop track, the lyrics really sopke to me and they alone made this song amazing. Music wise it isn't that mind blowing like her oldies were (especially on TFM) but the song isn't shit in my opinion. I'm interested to know what's gonna come out next.

I'm also not impressed with the song.

I don't know what the problem is with you guys. It's a straight forward pop songs, very nice tone and vocals - to attract new and old fans. I don't know what you did expect, but this is surely a radio banger - and that it was she should aim for after Artpop - at least if you don't want her to vanish from the music scene.

Zahara 16th September 2016 11:17 PM

I really like the song. Reminds me of some of the 80s songs from my childhood.

susiowong 17th September 2016 01:53 AM

Seems the vote is fairly 50/50 in terms of hating it or loving it.

Typical for Gaga.

"A radio banger" LMFAO! Noooooooooo. It's a "banger" in the sense that it makes me want to pound my head against the wall.

I just read it's doing very poorly on iTunes and streaming sites as well. Shit sounds like success to me.

js_surrealism 26th September 2016 04:39 PM

Kinda loved the song. It takes us to really raw 80s glam rock/pop territory, and the raw sounding vocals kind of reinforces that. It's always nice to see that she doesn't need to resort to over the top artifice to slay. Can't wait to listen to the rest of the album.

im SUCH a huge fan of Million Reasons <3

!Lawi! 8th October 2016 09:49 AM

Me too! I still hope she'll release EDM-ish songs but I love the atmosphere in million reasons!

tokyoxjapanxfan 8th October 2016 10:41 AM

I like this direction. But it's such a huge difference from Perfect Illusion. I wonder how much variety there'll be.

NintendoHTF1242 8th October 2016 02:13 PM

Can't stand her voice in Million Reasons lol

oaristos 9th October 2016 05:03 PM

I listened to Million Reasons twice and I'm going to say no.

js_surrealism 10th October 2016 03:29 AM

Have loved both songs so far (Million Reasons, Perfect Illusion) and really enjoying the raw quality of her vocals. Can't wait for the rest of the album to drop.

I heard the leaked previews. Looking forward to Diamond Heart a lot.

There's no EDM on the album. All very...Americana, Country..you get the idea.

attractive nausea 10th October 2016 08:02 PM

^ Can't find them, however if this is true and there is no single EDM song, i can't say i'm not upset. She had us waiting for three years only to release some kind of obscure album no one except her hardcore fanbase is gonna listen to : queen of killing her legacy.

xLuna&1LOVE 10th October 2016 08:34 PM

Million Reasons is not that special, but it is a million times better than Perfect Illusion imo.

NintendoHTF1242 11th October 2016 01:11 AM

I haven't loved a Gaga release since The Fame Monster so whatever lol

RealLight 11th October 2016 03:21 AM

I enjoyed Million Reasons more than Perfect Illusion, but still, none of the tracks I heard until now impressed me.

That sounds amazing tbh. Any leads on where I can hear these clips? lol

EndOfTheWorld 11th October 2016 06:16 AM

I liked Million Reasons, another breath of fresh air for me. This is the first time in a while that her songs don't annoy me.
I would be a little surprised if there wasn't at least ONE queen edm pop song. I don't think her fans could handle that. They are all about diva danceable songs from Gaga.

Isicio 15th October 2016 01:45 PM

Album preview

I like it, this album like the past albums have his own music style but I don't think is country, is rock style and old american sound.

js_surrealism 15th October 2016 05:27 PM

^ error message :(

i always have such bad luck with these downloads lol

Minttulatte 15th October 2016 05:42 PM

I lost my excitement towards the new album after the obsession with Perfect Illusion died. Million Reasons was beautiful, but I wasn't a huge fan of it. I listened to it just once and then let it be. I haven't even pre-ordered the album which is what I did with both BTW and ARTPOP because I was so excited lol. I seriously need to listen this album through first before I can decide that it's worth to buy. I'm glad Spotify exists~ <3
