Bigtop 28th August 2015 06:49 AM

I heard their second day sales dropped to 26,205.

http://www.oricon.co.jp/rank/js/d/2015-08-26/

This is one reason why AKB48 is becoming more of BS...

Trinu 28th August 2015 01:27 PM

And they sold around 15k today.

Still, in just 3 days they have outsold the TOTAL sales of many singles released in the last 3 years (Green Flash, Kibouteki Refrain, Kokoro no Placard, Mae Shika Mukanee, Suzukake Nanchara, So Long!, Eien Pressure...) and with the promotion getting only bigger as Halloween comes, it can only keep selling.

Stop being salty because they sell better than your favs. :P

visionfactory 28th August 2015 06:29 PM

It's AKB who is selling well not "them"

Mayuyu last single sold 56k
AKBNyan single sold 50k
Diva's last album sold 20k
Tomochin last single sold 18k

So, better than my faves?

They don't sell if you don't put 300 of them in a single (which is technically an album)

Trinu 28th August 2015 07:33 PM

Yeah, they sell like they do because of the gimmicks. So what? Oricon doesn't count "sales without Handshake tickets", so why would we? lol

And... Mayu selling 50k is still better than Ayu selling 30k of her last single so... yeah.
Plus, the solos and subunits don't really have the promoting machine the big groups usually have.

AKB 10th anniversary event with OG members

Even Oshima Mai was there :heart

visionfactory 15th December 2015 07:03 PM

The next AKB single will celebrate their 10th anniversary

Maeda Atsuko, Itano Tomomi, Shinoda Mariko and Oshima Yuko will be part of senbatsu selection

adantatu2 15th December 2015 10:11 PM

This last single didn't cross the 1 million mark, O_O

visionfactory 16th December 2015 04:10 AM

AKB, NMB and SKE are going downhill

HKT never rode the hill

And Nogizaka46 is at its peak right now

ayu-michan 16th December 2015 04:34 AM

I wonder how AKB will do once Mayuyu and the likes graduate.... I literally lost tracks of new members.

Bigtop 16th December 2015 05:55 AM

Hearing a lot of people on the Stage48 forum (AKB48-dedicated forums) that they're NOT liking the senbatsu for the 43rd single as of now. I'm not liking it as well. And I have a feeling...is AKB48 in its REAL decline right now after their last single release 'only' sold 905,000 in the first week?

Also, they're nominated for the Japan Record Awards...but with Sandaime J Soul Brothers of EXILE TRIBE (yes, the EXILE boys), the defending champs, also being nominated, I have a feeling they might win again. (>_<)

In fact, someone replied on Twitter that JSB has the momentum, and not AKB48. And I do have to agree the actions that I'm seeing with AKB48 right now doesn't deserve them any more wins in the Japan Record Awards. :(

https://twitter.com/taylorronald/sta...67703269023744

And, yeah, Nogizaka46...there are reasons why I do actually prefer them over AKB48 as of now.

visionfactory 16th December 2015 08:11 PM

^Why do people like Nogizaka46 so much? I only saw them twice in Music Station, once they performed a good song, the other time a generic idol song...

And they have a very beautiful member that looks like a model

adantatu2 16th December 2015 09:45 PM

In my opinion Nogizaka46 is a more sophisticated group with better music and a lot of beautiful girls.
The next single of AKB48 will include past members like Tomomi and Mariko.

And in other news, Akimoto met a mexican producer, and guess what, they want to make MEX48, lol. I thought it was fake, but nop, there is a video of the meeting T_T

visionfactory 17th December 2015 03:41 PM

Yeah I don't know if something good is gonna come from this lol

I didn't like JKT48 at first, but they have released some nice versions of AKB songs (Unlike SNH48)

Mirrorcle Monster 17th December 2015 08:54 PM

Nogizaka46 is better in every aspect: better music, better lyrics, better members... AKB48 only sells that much because it includes all of the sister group members on their handshake events so the sales increase... If they just included AKB48 members their sales would be lower than Nogizaka's actually. About the latest gimmick (including the old members in the new single) i'm quite shocked tbh I see why Aki-P would want to include them, but i dont get why they would go back to AKB once they have chosen other paths

LOL! I would be interested in seeing this. There are no records I'd say, of groups this large here in Mexico, so I wonder how this group would fare... unless they're trying to debut the group in Japan :P

adantatu2 18th December 2015 09:37 PM

The mexican producer is Pedro Damian (RBD). Hahaha I can imagine 48 girls dancing to reggaeton, lol.

They previously did it, even though it wasn't an AKB franchise it was definitely similar

Las Famosas Inalcanzables's "Beginner"

adantatu2 21st December 2015 04:04 AM

I hope Akimoto can see this video, he will change his mind, lol.

AKB has re-released the single with an alternate cover for "365 Nichi no Kamihikouki" in order to support the single to reach the 1 million copies mark

I'm not sure if this is going to work... This idea sounds stupid to me...

Mirrorcle Monster 28th December 2015 03:01 PM

The real trick is not the new cover, but a new round of handshake events, which has made the single sell 996.000 copies by now

adantatu2 28th December 2015 09:42 PM

Today or yesterday, I'm not sure, they sold 60k

Ryusei 29th December 2015 02:16 PM

How convenient for them lol But yeah I also feel like now that all the originally popular members are graduating the sales are declining as well. Now there's only gonna be Mayuyu, Yukirin and Kojiharu left once takamina is gone. I'm not counting Jurina, Sayanee and all those cause they're originally from SKE and NMB. Nogizaka's sales rise with every single so I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they replaced AKB. I don't get why Aki-P gives all the good songs to Nogizaka though, you'd think he'd want AKB to at least have good songs and not just live off their million-seller image. It's obviously not working, like come on give them a good song.. The last AKB A-side I enjoyed was heart ereki...

visionfactory 29th December 2015 03:49 PM

Takamina will perform a magic trick during FNS festival, if she fails to do the trick she will postpone graduation...

please give Takamina's graduation some dignity...

adantatu2 29th December 2015 09:19 PM

^Really ? That's so random, lol.

Mirrorcle Monster 29th December 2015 10:47 PM

I think the problem with Aki-P giving the goood songs to Nogizaka is simply that AKB can't make them work, or at least not as good. AKB is more fanservice, with bikini singles and revealing outfits, and not too many good singers. Nogi, on the other hand, has more of a "princess" image, with bikini shoots banned (except very few exceptions). Plus, as you said Nogizaka is only raisimg while AKB is slowly fading (despite management desperately trying to avoid it)

visionfactory 30th December 2015 11:57 PM

^I didn't know about bikini ban!! That's so good because AKB in bikini is sometimes very tacky looking...

I love this!

Bigtop 31st December 2015 03:59 AM

Did not formally know about the bikini ban. That might be the reason why I prefer Nogizaka46 - the 'classy girls of the west side'...

Mirrorcle Monster 31st December 2015 01:26 PM

Yes, it is banned by their agencies. Not only that, but also another fanservice aspects like super short skirts or too revealing outfits. I also appreciate that they sing live in their concerts (not every song but still)

visionfactory 31st December 2015 03:37 PM

Do you know, Acchan and Yuko joined AKB in Kouhaku Utagassen, can't wait to watch that!!

Sashihara Rino is salty about her position in the upcoming single...

"My talent has been power-up, I have appeared in many show, therefore I think it is ok what position I stand in the group. but I am not ok if the it is like this. (...) Even being no.1 in General Election, the fact is if it does not work, it does not work."

Source: http://akb48-daily.blogspot.cl/2016/...-with-her.html

Does she even think that she can beat Maeda's status?

Bigtop 21st March 2016 08:07 AM

Bit late...but there was a single released since last time it was updated - "Kimi wa Melody". And the overall million streak continues!

http://i.imgur.com/3mCjcfs.png

And this just in...they just announced their 44th single (46th overall), and their next senbatsu election single, for June 1st release. And the senbatsu election ceremony on June 18th.

But what's surprising:
  • Mion Mukaichi is centering the single
  • Senbatsu event to be held in Niigata

This just in, and I'm quite surprised about them...I mean, who knows what will happen?!

Ryusei 21st March 2016 08:00 PM

mion who? never heard of that member... I guess it'll be held there because the usual venue(s) are closed because of the olympics stuff that is affecting a lot of concert tours as well

visionfactory 22nd March 2016 05:06 AM

who is Mion I thought it was Myao

Trinu 23rd March 2016 10:08 AM

Mukaichi Mion.
She's a 15th gen member and one of the most popular new gen girls.

She ranked 44th last year (when Sakura first ranked she was 47th, for comparison) and her handshake sales have been stellar.

I would have personally gone with the Three Musketeers (Kojimako, Naachan and Miki), but this works too lol

visionfactory 26th March 2016 06:21 PM

New groups announced

TPE48 (Taiwan)
MNL48 (Philippines)
BNK48 (Thailand)

Bigtop 27th March 2016 06:39 AM

Biggest AKB Group expansion in history...? We've been rumoring TPE48 for a few years, and MNL48 for the past few months, but BNK48? I didn't even expect that!

visionfactory 27th March 2016 08:15 AM

I'm really happy with JKT48 and SNH48 I wish the other groups will turn out to be that nice too

Quote:

Japanese idol Mayu Tomita has been hospitalized and is in critical condition after she stabbed more than 20 times before a scheduled appearance.

The stabbing occurred the evening of May 21. Tomita was in Tokyo and was scheduled to perform at a concert hall in Kogenai.

Tomita was outside of the concert venue when the stabbing occurred. The idol was stabbed more than 20 times in the neck and chest, with more injuries to her back and both arms.

The idol was rushed to the hospital shortly after the incident occurred. She is in critical condition.

A man near the scene of the crime was arrested after police arrived. The man was holding a bloody knife. He later admitted to the crime.

Police have identified the man as 27-year-old Tomohiro Iwazaki. Last month, the idol had complained to police about Iwazaki after he began posting obsessive comments to her on social media.

Iwazaki has stated that he approached Tomita before the show and asked her about a gift he tried to send her. The gift had been returned to him, and he became angry when she didn't answer him clearly.

Ploice plan on re-arresting Iwazaki on charges of attempted murder.

visionfactory 9th June 2016 03:23 PM

AKB is breaking ties with SNH48 therefore SNH48 will be no longer part of the 48-family.

SNH48 will create her own 48-system and will continue as a "copy group".

Bigtop 10th June 2016 06:42 AM

Turns out SNH48 created sister groups - BEJ48 (Beijing) and GNZ48 (Guangzhou) - without AKB48 permission...

Mariya Suzuki kennin as a result has been cancelled due to the SNH48 breakup with AKB48. And with Sae Miyazawa already graduated, well it seems SNH48 isn't something I'll follow at all...

(Then again, I haven't been paying attention to SNH48 very much either, but with this surprise news...I'm probably not following SNH48 anymore.)

Trinu 18th June 2016 02:22 PM

Sasshi has won the election afain with over 240k votes.
Mayu didn't even come close with her 170k.

Yukirin went from 2nd to 5th losing like 70k votes.
Sakura lost like 2k but her position still went up lol
Akari makes a huge comeback, from 18th to 7th.

Takahashi Juri, Okada Nana Mukaichi Mion and Kodama Haruka enter senbatsu.
Tomu keeps rising like the star she is.

Kojima Haruna reveals herself as Nyan Nyan Kamen and announces graduation.

Such fun!

visionfactory 18th June 2016 07:28 PM

Did Suzuki Mariya ever take part in a SNH48 release?

Bigtop 19th June 2016 07:19 AM

Sasshi. AGAIN. UGH. (>_<)

Arguably this Sasshi scandal resulted in AKB48 forcing her to move to HKT48...I think AKB48 is going to really regret this decision. UGH!!!

Surprised about Yukirin dropping hard. What happened? And Kojiharu announcing graduation - finally! Been waiting way too long for such an announcement!

But, yeah, this Sasshi winning the Senbatsu election for the record two in a row and third overall - it really makes me think about Nogizaka46 even more. This AKB48G matter is getting a bit turbulent - in fact all Japanese AKB48G groups (AKB48, SKE48, NMB48, HKT48, NGT48) represent the top five, which is pretty amazing, but who knows what will happen over the next twelve months or so...

Good thing Nogizaka46, despite the Sony affiliation that I keep complaining (and not just Nogi, but NGT48 that will be under Sony's Ariola, and Ikimonogakari, etc.), doesn't do such an election, for now...

bluegie 19th June 2016 09:40 AM

I think Sasshi is in her own level now. I doubt even Aachan or Yuko could beat her in their top states. So to me, Mayuyu is doing great with 170K (I admit that I'm a bit surprised her votes could not exceed 190K at least, given that her votes were 160K last year, plus she had a single released a week after sousenkyo in 2015, so her votes were affected by the single sales).

I think probably last year scandal affected Yukirin a bit. But I think it's more about her mini tour was too close to the sousenkyo (like, a month or two before sousenkyo). Her wotas would not have much money to vote for her if they went to see her tour. Still I was really sad when the host called out "AKB" when he announced no. 5. I'm glad that she took it gracefully. In fact all top 5 were pretty graceful last night.

I was a bit surprised that Sakura's vote went down by 2k. And no wonder she cried like a baby when she gave her speech. I bet she thought she could get 85K at least. I was also a bit sad that Paruru couldn't make it into kami 7. Akari was good, but to be honest I dun really think she can be a kami 7.

LONJJONG 19th June 2016 01:46 PM

I'd honestly trade Akari for Churi.

Glamorous_Sky 20th June 2016 12:42 AM

I'm a Sasshi fan so I'm pretty content with her getting the top spot. Congrats to her! I'm also happy to see Miichan climbed a few spots from the last senbatsu, maybe it'll give her a confidence boost.

I don't think so. Cause when Achan was in AKB48 the votes were not faked. In the past you were given a chance to vote only if you buy 1 CD (1 vote = 1 CD) but now there are plenty others way to get multiple votes. Like 1 fanclub subscription = 5 votes, etc.

YUKARI 20th July 2016 04:47 PM

Sasshi's doing great. I didn't vote this year though I had a chance. Should have supported Paruru and KojiHaru though.

Oh well, I hope Paruru won't be graduating anytime soon.

Trinu 1st September 2016 09:30 AM

LOVE TRIP sold 1.1 million on its first day according to Oricon.
1.3 million according to Billboard.

Ohwell, another million to the streak! lol

It seems the sister groups are going to plateau at around 300k per single looking at the sales of NMB and SKE.
I guess that's fine, as long as they get 1st.

48/46 fans are being stretched thiiiiiiiin with all these new groups lol

Mirrorcle Monster 1st September 2016 10:53 AM

Nogizaka46 is currently at 800k per single, while Keyakizaka46 is only at their second single and sells around 400k. If Nogi really wanted to surpass AKB, with their 3rd generation announced and if they include Keyaki members in their singles lile AKB does with their sister groups they would easily sell a million. But including Keyaki members is highly unlikely.

visionfactory 2nd September 2016 02:01 AM

I think in the near future Nogizaka will surpass AKB sales per single

SKE/NMB/HKT groups are in danger zone

SNH48 new EP "Princess Cloak" teaser

Bigtop 4th June 2017 07:01 AM

Need to bump this because we haven't been talking too much AKB48 here on AHS...

Since the last post:
  • Paruru graduation single (November 2016)
  • New album 'Thumbnail' (January)
  • Kojiharu graduation single (March) and the actual graduation itself (April)
  • Senbatsu election single (released this week, another million seller...)
  • Two weeks until the senbatsu election result night

And that isn't including Nogizaka46 and Keyakizaka46 business either, they've released some singles as well, and recently, a new Nogizaka46 album.

Problem is: Stage48 (http://stage48.net/) has been struggling - first with bandwidth issues towards the end of the month, and right now the domain expired, leaving us with pretty much almost nothing to talk about for AKB48 and friends/Sakamichi46 (Nogi/Keayki) since we've been reliant on this forum to discuss about them.

If anyone is willing to contribute here to AHS please feel free to post it.

EDIT: Looks like the domain got renewed...for at least another year.

visionfactory 4th June 2017 07:17 AM

Also new groups NGT48 and BNK48

YUKARI 5th June 2017 04:55 AM

And Ogino Yuka, NGT48 member, got the 1st place in preliminary senbatsu election while Minegishi Minami got nothing.
http://aramajapan.com/news/ngt48-yuk...results/75900/

There are too many new girls and groups and I stopped following them after KojiHaru's graduation.

Bigtop 16th June 2017 09:59 AM

Looks like the AKB48 election event in Okinawa has been cancelled due to bad weather... (>_<)

Had a feeling the idea of such an event in an outdoor venue in Okinawa at this time of the year (June in Okinawa = RAIN) wasn't really a good idea.

Spoiler:
I'd rather be at Le Mans, as my Cancun trip is going to be subject to rain as well...

YUKARI 16th June 2017 07:32 PM

^ yeah, they cancelled Okinawa. TV will broadcast Request concert tomorrow but it seems like they will still announce results.

Bigtop 17th June 2017 04:34 AM

Now I have to question why in the world the management want to put the AKB48 election results event in an outdoor venue in Okinawa at a time where heavy rain is prominent...

YUKARI 17th June 2017 05:22 PM

So here are the results!

Spoiler:
Quote:

1. Sashihara Rino – HKT48 Team H : (246,376)
2. Watanabe Mayu (AKB48 Team B) (149,132 votes)
3. Matsui Jurina (SKE48 Team S) (113,615 votes)
4. Miyawaki Sakura (HKT48 Team KIV / AKB48 Team A) (82,803 votes)
5. Ogino Yuka (NGT48 Team NIII) (73,368 votes)

- Congratulations to Sashihara Rino for being a winner for the 3rd consecutive year!
- Watanabe Mayu will graduate within 2017
- NMB48's Sutou Ririka announces engagement

This was really interesting sousenkyo! Personally I was cheering for NMB48's Yoshida Akari and I am sooo happy she made it to Senbatsu!

I am quite sad about Mayu, but she's great, she's leaving at perfect time. Someone like Minegishi Minami should learn how to graduate gracefully. Minegishi said it was her last Sousenkyo last year, then she participated again this year saying it is her last and today she said she'd participate next year too!

And I am angry about Sutou Ririka. I'm not sure if she's dumb or that...

Well, not surprising Sasshi won again (>_<), surprised Mayuyu graduating (and before Yukirin!!!), but really shocked about Ririka Suto's marriage!?!?!?

What in the world is she thinking???

visionfactory 19th June 2017 01:40 AM

I think it will be a big impact for the industry from now on

It may even changes the rules for all idols on the future

YUKARI 25th June 2017 11:42 AM

Nah, Suto Ririka is graduating. And there was an incident at Keyakizaka46's handshake yesterday. Fans are angry.

Bigtop 26th June 2017 04:31 AM

Gosh, more J-pop insecurity??? Could Keyakizaka46 become the real next target? That was pretty scary Saturday night... :O

Maemi 20th December 2017 06:12 AM

Any interesting news?

Bigtop 20th December 2017 06:35 AM

Two more million-selling singles since the last post, and Mayuyu graduation announcement later...maybe the AHS community isn't interested in the world of 48/46 groups? :(

Maemi 20th December 2017 10:09 AM

Probably the users who are interested are not really active these days... I'm not a big fan, especially not now since all of my fav members have graduated :(

visionfactory 21st December 2017 05:14 AM

As for now I'm only interesed in SNH48
