But yeah jpop central is VERY positive about this album. It's so positive it's like a... I don't know... A huge sugar rush so big it feels like all my teeth are rotting and I'm gonna get diabetes or something. Not saying positivity is bad but I've always liked a balance of opinions. Too positive and it's annoying. Too negative and it's depressing. This forum seems to be JUST right. There's enough people liking it and enough people dragging it into oblivion that everything's fine and dandy... At least I think so. |

If Namie is that in charge of the songs she chooses than she has to take responsibility for what she sings in her songs, with all the grammatical mistakes, or repeated words/themes. But again, it's not for an audience that completely understands what she sings or the language she sings in. For me, I wouldn't have minded if Feel had a bigger mix of both Japanese and English produced songs. In saying that, my favourite song of the album is Contrail but my least favourite is Can You Feel This Love. I do enjoy listening to Feel every so often, so I won't critique it too harshly, but sometimes I think it could have been anyone's album. Speaking of Uncontrolled, it didn't do much for me at all at first and I found myself agreeing with the comments at the time (that it was a bit boring/bland/uninspired) which is weird to think now, given how much I love it! It's in my Top 5 Namie albums. I think Uncontrolled has a great mix of different types of songs. |

Wow I just listened to the previews and this is what I would've liked to hear on FEEL. I enjoyed FEEL, but I felt that the english songs (which were the majority) did not have good enough melodies or beats to distract me from the engrish. However, I'm enjoying what I hear so far. Although, I was expecting something completely different with this album. Oh well!

I believe this album would be better received with the Singles.
We would have had Singles with some basic arse fillers parceled throughout and more easily digested and nobody would have batted an eye because that tends to be how it goes. But instead, we got an Album full of FILLERS with no Singles to be propped up by. It's like going to see the Avengers and everybody is Hawkeye. And to that signature above me with the different types of fans.....LOOOL! Is that ayumi as her own fan?! The decrepit state of her base! Doesn't seem like anyone in the back cares. LOL! |

Off-topic but I feel like Love Story really encompasses why I love Japanese music even though I do not understand much Japanese. There is so much emotion in the way Namie sings (as much as you guys like making fun of her being dead) and the melody is just wow so stunning. Such a beautiful and fantastic song.
Back on topic, the previews grew onto me. This album won't be shitty by any means but it's not gonna be better than FEEL but only time will tell. |
I agree about love story. Namie served a reverse warholian expedition with that song. I hated it at first but then I heard it at some tsutaya in Japan and fell in love.

I love Love Story since the first time I heard it, it's like a sad version of Baby Don't Cry.
I don't have a particular problem with the album musically, it's sth she had release before and I like her dancey music, maybe for the exception of Birthday (who reminds me of Katy's TGIF or Birthday) and Every Woman (who makes Hot Girls sounds better). For me the problem lies in the way the lyricist wrote the lyrics. I mean its not deep and cheesy, but there's difference between cheesy Japanese lyric and cheesy English lyrics, and English cheesy tends to be worse imo. And lmao at S4MU3L's signature, if I love them all what kind of people am I? An Old-Kingdom-Hearts-Fanatic-Hunky-Housewive? |

I listened to the previews and I was expecting a bit more. I really like the first two songs, the slow songs and... Well, I may change my opinion when I hear the full thing. And where is the 80s sound? Most songs sound '10 EDM mixed with a bit of oldie.

Wow the amount of vitriol here (mostly from one person if I had to be honest) is terrifying, I'm not sure if it's even marginally better than Jpopcentral.
Am also really surprised that people dislike the previews and that the word 'filler' has been used to describe the music there. It's just staggeringly confusing and really makes me wonder what these people (who disliked the songs) think is "good" music. But I will just attribute it to a difference in taste and leave it at that. |

Sounds good. I gave the songs another listen and in the end I ended up liking them more than before. You have to listen to them as if they're fun party songs (which they are). It's just pure fun. Nothing serious. Like a fling.
