I personally believe Ayu should take a small break and not go on tour in the first half of 2016. She had two tours in 2015 so fans will be able to live on! |
she should release summer single, autumn album and late PREMIUM SHOWCASE-like short tour and then CDL next year :yes
i love how much she has done this year but i'm worried because of her voice and health :( i don't meam they are bad but they need rest as well :yes but she's a workaholic so what can we expect lol. she's gonna surprise us anyway so i'm fine with everything |
Watched Cdl last night and loved the theme, hated the new dancers and ayu's encore outfit. Vocals weren't good but then again she's done enough this year. :yes
|
I loved her outfit and hair in Many Classic Moments, but TK on stage playing the piano looked very awkward.
|
TK was straight up AWFUL. It was just embarrassing all around.
|
Surely Ayu started the year 2016 voiceless. When you hear how her voice began hoarse even before the end of the main part, you realise that she wasn't in great shape. However the show stays remarkable. I like that one of the dancer wore a monkey outfit (wink to new year).
My favourite performance is Marionette because of the acrobatics but above all for Ayu's vocal. Even if it didn't sound perfect, it's the most emotional song of the concert to me. Since the first words, I was overwhelmed by the emotion as I had never been by this song in live. I'm really glad to hear UNITE! once again. I think that Many Classic Moments would have been better if TK had played an improvisition instead of the bridge that sounded more disjointed with the rest of the song than in the studio version. Danse de la nuit is wonderful. That shadow play is great and funny. I really like how Ayu used the folklore during this concert but also the modern aspects of her country. :yes |

About the CDL. I absolutely LOVED everything. One of her best CDL imho. The outfits were stunning, the theme very well executed, she looked charismatic and lovely on stage and even though some elements were re-used from past performances she succeded in mixing them well and making them fit for the TOKYO theme. I especially loved the opening with GREEN and warning, marionette (!!), the interlude with the shadow theatre, winter diary, the video she prepared with sorrows lyrics and melody in the background + Ivy which was absolutely... perfect. I also liked the encore, maybe I'm the only one who did appreciate urata and TK's piano. I thought it was a very nice idea to incorporate the piano, and maybe it will sound better with better audio quality. Same goes for ayu's vocals, which were a bit strained because of her recent illness I think. But she still delivered, and put her all into the show, you can easily tell. She really gave her best this year touring and all, no wonder she might not be perfect vocally. I really really really loved her and the show, everything was AMAZING, I was speechless all the time! (because I had avoided any kind of spoilers visually). I'm just a bit sad that she feels so guilty for taking time for herself in recent years, as if she's left her fans behind. You can really tell she does feel horrible for having done such a "selfish" thing as thinking about herself first once in a while. NHK Hall where she cries, sorrows, now this video with Ivy and song 4 u and many other means show it. She keeps on singing that she wants to be forgiven, but I don't think she's done anything which requires forgiveness. She's an amazing person, the way she feels towards her fans and the deep relationship she's built with us is something which is a plus, not a given. It's unique, and we're lucky to have it. I just wish she wouldn't be so hard on herself. Instead of her begging for forgiveness whenever she can't reach out to us, it should be us fans being grateful for all the times she does. I just love her so much, I want her to know that she's loved, and respected, and admired as a person and artist. |
GREEN: where's the "rock version" of it? Anyway, didn't like this new arrangement, the original is so much better. Loved her outfit tho.
WARNING: I liked it, but the ARENA TOUR perfomance was better. UNITE!: apart from her voice, I really liked this. STEP you: at first I hated that bunny outfit, but it took a few laughs from me, Ayu was hilarious. Fun perfomance, just like Fly high. Ladies Night: that was ok, didn't like the cutesy vice tho. Marionette: I really liked the prelude. About the main perfomance, thank god she didn't the high pitch voice she used in the first seconds. Beautiful perfomance, just didn't like the drama queen face near the end. Ballads medley: gosh, I loved her dress and her hair. Also, a BIG WTF when appears ended all of sudden. Anyway, I really liked this part, her voice sounded good, but, as someone said before, the transition to CAROLS was very odd. I just wish she got rid of the dancers. Winter diary: lovely. Summer diary: skipped it. Ivy: another beautiful perfomance, but again, I feel the dancers weren't needed here, Ayu by herself would of made it much better. Born To Be...: it was ok, she could bring the original arrangement back. Song 4 u: ok as well. Love song: "shitakuuuuuuuu..." SLAY. Although that sounded nice, I'd prefer her to perfom it like the studio version, no acapella. Dream ON: Ok again. Many Classic Moments: Was TK really necessary there, he seemed so lost. Awkwaaard. And NO at him playing the piano. Also, her voice started to get really raspy, like she had a cold or something (CDL02-03 teas). B&G/TSMGO/MY ALL: Same old stuff. Well, not her worst concert, but not the best either. Her voice didn't soud bad at all and I enjoyed it better than the last CDL. Also, her new dance Ko-Ya is HAWT and what in the world was Timmy wearing? Never noticed he had such a nice body. |
LOL TK is always so awkward and emotionless...I believe he doesn't actually have a personality.
|
Quote:
But I don't see it as a problem. The main reason of a live is to be watched live. Not everyone who goes to CDL goes to her Asian tours. And her CDL are a light version of her AT. AT are just more polished. |
Couldn't agree more about TK...I was like, what? Why are you there? And why the hell is Dream on being performed? LOL
|
Ok, this woman can't be a human. I mean, all year touring and working so hard and she is still capable of doing a 2h30min show like this. I really look up to her.
Although she looked tired and with hoarse voice in the high notes of some songs (UNITE!, Fly high, Song 4 u, Love Song... are very difficult songs!) she has made another great CDL. The highlights for me are GREEN, Marionette, Winter diary, Ivy (finallyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!) and Danse de la nuit noire with the lights and shadows trick. I also enjoyed WARNING but I prefer CDM one, appears and Missing were well but suddenly CAROLS and Dearest? It didn't fit too well to me. The outfits were amazing, she looked flawless with every costume but especially I couldn't take me eyes off her during the medley and Winter diary:love:love:love Now I hope she takes care of her voice and herself because she really deserves a rest after all the hard work she has done during 2015. |
C'mon, Dream on was amazing live!! I was so excited that I was dancing and almost jumping, such a powerful upbeat song.
I think her hoarse voice has nothing to do with illness, she just had been screaming for 3 days, often shouting instead of proper singing, so it was to be expected. |
I had a great seat right in front of the center walkway.
I generally enjoyed the setlist but still don't like Warning and Marionette lol. Also I laughed when she made a mistake singing appears-- "kao wo tsunaide" literally means like joining faces together xD I do wish the Japanese theme was stronger. It was really only like what...3 performances? So this is one of those concerts with a very loose thread of continuity haha. But hey, it's a CDL. I'm assuming that if she uses this theme for the tour, the entire winter ballad section will be replaced. |
I feel like the dress for the winter medley was from the Zutto.../Last minute/Walk photo shoot.
Anyway, good show overall, the costumes were really hit or miss for me though. I LOVED WARNING. The choreography was so exciting when they used people on the runway tbh. |

Love this version GREEN and the opening.

Well, I saw her referencing some japanese elements here and there during the show. Besides the obvious moments for us (GREEN, Ivy), she used eastern instrumentation during WARNING and UNITE! bridges, plus the whole kawaii session (the fluffy bunny outfit is so damn Japanese, not in a traditional way, but I guess she's using many references of what "japanese" is).
|
I haven't watched it yet, the setlist is so so to me, she could have sung theme of a-nation 03 ):
|
Apart from Will, Moments and part of Me, HANABI will fit with japanese theme imo.
|
I felt like I was getting a secondhand sore throat from the way Ayu was singing towards the end, that must suck. :(
I loved the opening, it felt dark, didn't it feel dark, guys? Like a more messed up circus, just japanese-themed this time. When you guys said appears was short, I didn't realise it mean she was literally only singing the first verse. Like whaaa. I noticed her rotating male dancers' outfits went from full white to full black by the end of the medley. Do the lyrics correspond with this? Oh well, I'm glad to finally see a happy solo in Summer diary. It's probably a conclusion after all these years of stage pining. Maybe she'll mix it up the next tour. Marionette also isn't as bad I thought it was. I thought it was actually quite great. And her outfit for it kinda suit her in a way, because she's like a doll? lol |
OMG, Many Classic Moments gave me goosebumps!!! Shame about the keyboard playing not really matching the new dance arrangement.
|
I didn't like this countdown at all because her voice was just terrible in every song. I don't expect much from her live vocals and she's probably sick but this was still really hard to listen to and enjoy. I would have preferred her lip syncing, even though she'd get shit from fans for that too.
|
^ Hmmmm, i don't know, from the few short videos that i watched it wasn't THAT bad imo, not as bad as how she sounded back in 2012/2013
|
I just found those videos if people are interested : to be sincere, those are only the best parts of the show. You can forget the others songs... :(

lol I think everyone been talking about her voice already
as for me I couldnt be more grateful because she still managed to pull out some great performances despite her being not so fit in this CDL. Her voice was already hoarse, raspy and husky even after the end of the main part , poor Ayu, and it's obvious even when shes talking during the MC, look at the amount of water shes been drinking, I never saw she drank half a bottle before at CDL, I think she herself wasnt comfortable with her throat condition at that time, poor Ayu :( She sang Warning the second verse early than the melody, when this last happened was when she broke her hand during PCDL 2008-2009 where she messed up the lyrics for Angel song and it captured on the screen. her dress stuck at the stage during Ivy so unfortunate >.< annndd the open sided pants is back!! LOL never thought I'd see it again xDD this maybe only me but I feel like Im in the China Town during Green rather than in Tokyo lol |
i guess now its time to announce the new album .... :D
|
As much as I'd like a new album, she'd better stay at least 3 months without doing anything. Her vocals need rest. And in April we'll probably get the DVD for MADE IN TOKYO CDL.
|
Queen should take a break. I don't need a new album for 2016 :(*
|
DEAREST, never fails to make me cry
For her vocal matter, I'm actually very grateful for she still insists singing live, while she has the choice to lip syncing from the beginning to the end (so no one would complain on her bad vocals), but she didn't! PS: I watched some clips from Dailymotion, not full concert yet... |
I attended the 30th date and, unfortunately, did not find her vocals to be pleasing to my ears at all; the way she shouted and struggled to reach high notes in some songs was intolerably awful and distracting. Honestly speaking, I knew that Ayu would not pull a Leona Lewis or give So Hyang a run for her money, but her singing on that day was so off-putting to the point that the excitement from seeing her live for the first time (after becoming a fan in 2006 thanks to JEWEL's promotional video) and the anticipation prior to the concert could not even save the show for me. Aside from the vocals, I did, however, enjoy the overall CDL to certain extent. I particularly loved the new and majestic arrangement of GREEN and I was absolutely pumped up by The Show Must Go On; that song was most definitely made for live shows, considering how much energy it gave to the audience members. I will probably attend another CDL next year to see whether she would impress me with her vocals or disappoint me even further. I really do believe that all she needs is just proper rest and good care of her vocal chords.
|
I DO need a new album in 2016, but she should certainly take a few months off. She can spend time with her hubby, live it up, maybe get some inspiration to write some new songs, and release an album for summer. Maybe a single in April or something. ;)
|
Ayu should take a break for a while, then release a album in the autumn and go for a tour in 2017.
As for her vocals in 2008-2009 are the ones that didn't sound good at all in lives to me. These days she sounds great again. |
^ Weird because i looooove her 2008/2009 vocals :laugh
I actually wouldn't mind if she took a hiatus for 2016, not releasing anything or touring, i mean i was planning a trip to Tokyo to go and see her but that can wait another year, after all she gave us this year, she seriously need to rest, maybe a hiatus would even give her new ideas/inspirations. But i know she won't do it though. |
The first time I really noticed or felt had changed dramatically was during the "For My Dear..." performance from PCDL.
|
I'd be ok with some nothing for now and then maybe for summer a single (with 2 exclusive B-sides that won't be on the next album) And then maybe an album in autumn around october november. She should really rest a bit more as happy as I am with the amount of content she provided her fans with this year.
Maybe she could do a big one-time concert in summer or something like that instead of another long tour. |
if she produces more singles per year, i would be totally satisfied. 3 or 4 singles a year instead of an album 2 months after the cdl would be perfect, i guess. she could skip a single and add an album at the second half of the year. that would be so amazing, honestly.

I hope she does better next time you go. I hope she gets good rest too, she definitely seemed sick, so I'm not at all bitter or anything for this CDL not being good vocally. This is just the first time where I don't even think them editing her live vocals for the DVD can make them tolerable. We will see. But anyway, wasn't it just a month ago where she sung SEASONS pretty much flawlessly live? She still has it in her to put on a good vocal performance :) |
i hope i get some replies towards my opinion .. agreeing / disagreeing .. :O
i just finished watching the concert annnnnd: positive: + it was simple but awesome! + the ballad section wasn't half the show + her outfits were on point - her skinny jeans and the jacket looked stunnin on her and her hair was adorable! (except the leather outfit during warning and unite, i enjoyed all costumes) + she looked healthy and trained! her body looked full of muscles sometimes (especially, when the camera captures her from the side) in that black leather dress! + ivy - thank you ayu, for holding strong and not crack in tears in it! it was an amazing performance and that kimono, uh ayu. A+ + summer diary - uh that jump on shu-ya at the beginning of summer diary. WOW. + dream on & marionette were memorable, too. i loved when they bound her into the cube. plus: i disagree with most comments on AHS i think 'many classic moments' was stunning ! her voiced got throaty towards the end but that didn't bothered me at all! I thought, because of AHS, many classic moments will be the most awful performance in her live history - gladly it wasn't! negative: - i actually enjoyed the "m(a)de in Tokyo" theme , but they used it for 10% of the show, only. - unite and warning hasn't been satisfied for me. Unite was harsh, those high tones were tough listening to and I personally think that warning sounded lip-sinc with mic on, so she could sing the lalalala. next time she'd better turn it y off . :D - green was rather a traditional version instead of a rock version. I was a little bit disappointed because i enjoy ayu's rock version but the traditional was solid. (AHS calls it the rock version) - TK was just .... oh lord ... All in all, it's a solid concert which can be approved for an even better arena tour. if she uses the theme and adapt it "stronger" on more songs than, i think, the arena tour will be a huge success. thank you so much for a wonderfull start in 2016 Ayu !!! |
I don't know if this has been said but is her marionette outfit, an altered L cover dress?
|
just wanna say:
- the shadow dancing before ballad medley was good, hope they will keep and improve in nxt AT - i love the ballad medley in CDL ~do it again~, but this is bad because all the songs end so sudden and they do use some outro from prev CDL/AT - i love STEP you! hope the dvd will keep the audience laugh because i think thats her purpose wearing that. and little remix in between make it special too. - i enjoy UNITE! too, especially some oriental remix in between the song. - yes, her live voice is bad, but wasn't thats a fact we should accept after PCDL and her half deaf announcement? plus the beginning of Love song and MCM ending do prove that she still have great voice if she didn't have to shout over the bgm. so don't worry, her team are professional in remixing her voice in dvd after years of "training". - am i the only one think all her costume in this show is ugly (except the one in ballad section)? i hate the red lace with black boots!! - im glad she bring back Ivy in this CDL after she remove this song last minute in CDL last show few years ago. hope in nxt AT she will perform SAKURA / Melody / petal / Gloria, those great song from LOVE again really deserve live performance in big stage. - lol @ Ivy dress stuck in beginning and she trying hard to remove her jacket in MY ALL. - glad this tv version included ayu speaking from behind the stage after the show. u can see only true fans will only go after the announcement finish. - and last, i hate shuya new hair!!! |
Just watched the whole concert and I don’t think that her vocals were THAT bad. It was a little difficult for her here and there, for example in UNITE! or Fly high but considering she was literally singing through the whole year 2015 I was pleasantly surprised. She could have sounded so much worse. And not only her, even Timmy’s and Princess’s voices seemed a little strained, so I think it was quite alright. Speaking of Timmy, I had to laugh so hard at his outfit :D You can complain about him all the way you want, but at least Ayu and he are constant with his awful outfits. Somehow I love that about him, even though he looks annoying sometimes. :P
Overall I like the concert a lot, especially the GREEN, WARNING, Marionette and Ivy performances. The only thing which I dislike are her outfits, I only like the one she wears through the ballad medley, Winter diary and Summer diary. But that’s alright, I don’t care for her outfits that much anyway. Many Classic Moments also was not as bad as I thought but I agree that Tetsuya Komuro was so unnecessary :rolleyes The new arrangement of GREEN is lovely, I like the original a little bit more, but this one sounds amazing as well. Although it also reminded me more of China than of Japan :D I still love the theme and if there will be a Tour in 2016, I hope she extends it a little bit more. |

OMG everyone saying ayu sang Many Classic Moments badly? TK ruined the song completely, i had to stop watching it because it became too awkward to watch
i hope TK and ayu will never ever do live again together, just horrible! |
^LOL that part I agree with. The piano basically ruined the song. You gotta admit though, during the last 30-45 seconds of the song, she sounded pretty raspy. That's just because of strain though, and singing so often. It's not indicative of being a bad singer or not singing well. These things happen.
|
I don't think Komuro is made for a frontline performer and definetely not just to sit and play simple melody. Look here - no weird feelings, he looks actually cool with all keyboards around him. (+pretty good music, you can check "Get wild" too. I like TM Network concerts, became fond of them recently)

The side open trousers looks very familiar, looks like one in ARENA TOUR 2009 A ~NEXT LEVEL~ XD |
don't want to destroy her by uploading the whole awful show :(
|
I love the moment when that new dance part kicks in STEP you and ayu starts running with that huge rabbit costume on her. This has to be my favourite performance of STEP you. Ayu is not overracting like in past shows or trying to be cheesy sexy like in 2014. And the fact that she choose something that funny as attire is even more appealing like me. And I see that most people hate it lol
And I almost forgot. Vocals are really nice here. I don't agree with the people that say her vocals are the worst in this show. I mean, have you heard past Tv versions of CDLs? If I remember correctly, CDL 12-13 is quite strained in many parts. |
I listened to almost all of TV version of CDLs from 2001 :(
|
Hmm, it probably depends on our tastes ultimately : )
For example, I find Countdown Live 2001-2002 almost unbearable even with DVD editing : )) By the way, thanks for the uploading. Hopefully, they won't get the videos down x.x |

IMO the worst CDL (post 2009) was 2010-2011. The USTREAM rip was the first full concert I've seen from Ayu and I remember I was really dissapointed. I think CDL 12-13 wasn't bad and definitely better than 10-11. I was enjoying it much more, that's for sure.
MADE IN TOKYO isn't bad either, but Ayu's voice sounds really tired. Some of the outfits are also really beautiful, as well as visuals (that shadow performance is amazing) but some outfits are so ugly I can't stand them (the one Ayu wore in Fly high~Ladies Night section :tired) Bunny Ayu killed me tho XD That was awesome XD |
WARNING has a lot of japanese sound but can't hear anything because audio quality is so bad. All versions of the songs have a bad mix (or muted instruments some parts). The mix of the vocals are bad too and it sounds worst. Last note on Green "Yokaaaaa" Ayu started a falsetto but I only can hear Princess (It took me a while to realize it wasn't Ayu)
I think the concert will change a lot on the DVD version. |
If she's gonna do toned down CDL's, she needs to have more interesting setlists. This is a huge step down from the near-perfect Cirque de Minuit. You can tell her heart wasn't in this show, she wasn't feeling it, and she knew her voice wasn't in the best shape. I was really hoping she could ride the fantastic momentum from A ONE, sixxxxxx, and CDM— but Many Classic Moments, A7 Classical, and Made In Tokyo are duds in my book.

GREEN and IVY are the only memorable performances of this show, I also think tetsuya destroy MANNY CLASSIC MOMENTS...
|
I was finally able to watch the concert!
I only dislike the first part. GREEN was never a good opening song imo (I love the song itself, but it makes a boring opening) and she was forcing the lower vocals which made it sound really bad :( WARNING's choreography looks forced imo, but it was overall ok, just the dancers around her in the catwalk was bad, because she's tiny and they completely covered her (and damn those purple outfits were hideous), but I'm hoping the DVD editing chooses good angles and fixes this issue. UNITE! was nice though, I've missed that song so much. I really enjoyed the rest of the concert though. The cute session was awesome, specially the huge bunny outfit :laugh I loved it! Marionette was brilliant also, I really like the prelude and the whole performance, it's my favorite part of the concert. And I'm really happy she included many classic moments. But her vocals where definitely far from her best, her voice sounded strained and by the end of the concert she was hoarse. After two tours and CDL, I hope she takes some time now to rest for a bit... Edit: made bunny gifs because I couldn't resist haha Spoiler:
|
^ omg these are amazing. great job haha soon funnyyy to see her in this costume
|
Those who say it's her worst vocals should probably watch tv version of COUNTDOWN LIVE 2007-2008. THAT was a disaster.
The one with dream on was terrible too, don't remember the year, 2010-2011? Never watched it again... Also it's not that important how long you sing. Much more important is HOW you sing, and Ayu strains her voice too much, she shouts a lot, etc. Do you know term "free time" in karaoke in Japan? People can sing for 7-9 hours there and their voices are fine as long as they don't push themselves too hard. Was it necessary for Ayu to try to reach those high notes in MCM? She could just improvise to avoid highest notes, but no, she chose to strain her voice even further. |
Could someone please upload Many Classic Moments ?
|
She was most likely sick... Her voice started going bad way before MCM.
But she's human, and that stuff happens. |
Quote:
I just finished watching the 480p rip of the CDL and I gotta say, while her vocal is not in the best condition, it certainly wasn't as bad as the way people have been saying here. It was her standard live performance voice and I've learnt to be fine with that. In fact, in certain songs where I usually cringe, e.g. STEP you and Love song, her performance were actually OK. What I agree with most everyone here, however, is how TK made Many Classic Moments sound absolutely terrible. I mean, why not make the song acoustic altogether, rather than have him play disjointed piano on top of the original mix? |
Oh my god yes, TK was really awkward. It was like he was just playing random notes
|
Quote:
But I think people keep forgetting about her ear. That can play a big part to the sound of her tone. Just be glad she didn't do the blue vs red show. Cant think how its spelt, that would of tired her voice out sooner. But oddly that show had its lowest views in its history this year :P |
Ok, so she did not sang very well. Which is disapppointing, but I have much respect for her that she always is willing to please her fans, eventhough she may or may not have been entirely recovered from sickness. The Show Must Go On, is a life motto for her and that is amazing. It must have been exhausting.
Many respect for her. Hope she is able to rest a little in 2016. Really hoping she will base the next tour on the CDL. I have said it a million times by now, but I really believe the set up is open for new ideas! Also, if she decides to rest for a little (which will probably not happen since we talk about workaholic Ayu) she takes time to experiment again. Meaning, she leaves TK alone for a while. Sure, not all experiments turn out to be masterpieces, but it feels like a long time since she has done a song that sounds out of the blue. Whatever she is going to do this year, I am thrilled to know. First we have the video to look forward to. Goooooooo Ayu! |
Quote:
-- The concert isn't that bad, and I still think she needs to tone down the number of dancers. So much things going on during Green, that you can't even see her. The same thing happens during WARNING, having almost 10 dancers on the catwalk was kinda claustrophobic. The vocals are okay, I guess. I won't use the excuse of being tired, because she prepared herself for the concert anyway, but it could be way worse. And btw, am I the only one who thinks her hairstyle during Green was so basic? Like, just a ponytail? I was expecting something more glamorous, since the name of the concert screams that. |
^ There is def way too many dancers/performers on stage, when she announced that she included more dancers and performers i was like "Really Ayu? Really?", during GREEN/WARNING everything is so messy because of the huge TOKYO letters on the stage + dancers, idk how she can watch it beforehand and approve it :tired
|
^^ Yeah, pretty basic hairstyle. I noticed how thin her real hair is! It was even more obvious somehow when she was in the red dress.
|

|
The first two songs were a mess indeed... I'm really hoping the DVD editing will save those two.
Those certainly were not her worst vocals, but I'm surprised at some people saying it's her normal vocals and she always sounds like that. She did sound strained on this concert and her getting hoarse by the end of the concert just makes it more evident she was not on her best condition, she sounded so much better on last year's CDL. I feel that saying those are her "normal" vocals kinda brings her down, because she does sing better when she's more rested... or whatever caused her vocals not to be her best for this concert. On the other hand, I like the simple hairstyles. I rather see her with a ponytail than some weirdly styled wigs or something. |
lol so ayu was really wearing a lingerie (la perla) for CDL..lol..

M(A)DE IN TOKYO Ayumi Hamasaki Countdown Live 2015-2016 ~DIGEST~
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IF3f-1scCvg |
^ Cool!
Watching this digest i think it's even more obvious that her vocals are bad (not in every songs, but most of them), i really hope she will get better because it's a shame when you compare it to her CDL 2014-2015/AT 2015 vocals |
Quote:
thanks for sharing. |
Praying the DVD editing saves her voice.
Someone mentioned that her heart didn't seem into this one. And I feel the same way. Something about this doesn't feel memorable or leave the impression that this is an ayumi hamasaki concert. But I think her last two CDLs before this certainly did. It's like it was missing those fine touches that make it her. Some things seemed a bit messy for ayu standards. I understand though. Ayu has done two tours before this. And CDM was wonderful. So it's okay to me. I hope her schedule next near invovles rest and that she continues to improve her vocals. |
I respect all of your opinions, but have you pseen the video before ivy? Honestly, you can't say her heart wasn't there.
|
I think she really needs to take some rest. Especially for her voice, but also for here creativity.
Maybe it sounds a bit harsh, but I think she needs to stop for a while and think. Take inspiration. Take singing classes, but not in classical classes : I'm sure there are singing coaches that can teach her to sing correctly while she's dancing, when she's in effort situations. It would be a great improvement for her, and she will be able to bring us a magnifiscent show that won't need as much voice-editing as CDL 15-16. And about creativity, maybe she needs to hire her staff overseas or try new ideas that actually WORKS (not a mish-mash of something new or fun like she did with CoLOURS... It wasn't a bad album musically, but the idea behind was a little rough, it would have deserved a bit more of reflexion and ingeniosity to arrange and present the things together). Working with new talents is actually a great idea, but that needs to be useful for HER in first place, not a kind of promotion for them. |
Download audio rip and help me test the Player. Thank you.

Watched the broadcast yesterday and I wasn't really sold on it there were a lot of vocal struggles, at the end she wasn't even able to talk right anymore. There were parts that I liked like the ivy~love song segment or WARNING and also marionette but as some others said it doesnt seem memorable. Cirque de minuit really was an amazing CDL compared to this one and also generally so having these 2 following each other was almost a bit cruel. Hope she rests her voice now and comes back with cirque de minuit-ish awesome vocals.

I think its just she had a bit more on her late last year over her not having her heart in it. + her having a serious chest infection.
Future classics tv version of I am was worse, vocal wise than this whole tours vocals. I think the dvd will be fine :) And her voice always goes like this when she over works. When TA tour was announced, everyone praised that but it cost her CDL vocals. She just needs some rest Example of her voice sounding as tired in her 10th anniversary period http://youtu.be/AeVZ4bDgdZ8 |
Holy fuck, they REALLY butchered that Many Classic Moments live. I thought AHS had to be exaggerating but the truth is that they weren't being harsh enough! It sounds like they have three completely separate audio tracks playing - out of sync and in complete disharmony with one another. Terrible.
About her 10th anni. vocals - at least her voice had power then. I don't get that power in her recent lives anymore. I think she had to scale it back to prevent further damage. Which sucks cause now it just sounds dry AND weak. Poor Ayu. |

For reference, I feel her voice is most powerful during performances like Microphone and Memorial address in AT10 ~Rock'n'Roll Circus~ |
I just listen to the GREEN of Premium CDL 2008-2009, and then watch the GREEN of Made in Tokyo... You'll know the difference if you listen/watch them...
PS: not complaining about her voice =) |
watched the digest...thought it was okay up until the ballads...wow, she was sick or? her voice nearly went away. It ha snothing to do if she can hit notes or not, she just had no voice. poor ayu.
for the show...it looks indeed bladn, but who cares. Its menat for peopel who attend anyways, and it was probaly still awsome if you did. |
Aww, Ayu looks really cute in this CDL, but yeah, her vocals sound pretty worn out... It kind of reminds me of her CDL in 2002-03 when she lost her voice, and you could really tell in Heartplace (I think that was the song at the time), it's a shame really. I remember how good she sounded during Power of Music, hopefully Ayu can rest a little and recover from the chest infection she's had
