I hope FLOWER will not end up like 'decision' or anything on one stage with a band. This song have an amazing potential to be something like Return Road/Microphone - not really an uber twisted of storyline, but something you want to watch because of theme/atmosphere etc.
I still doesn't get how Mad World can get a PV, cause I imagine her sitting and singing (what a waste) but please, surprise me <3 Good PV will make me like this song more, cause it's not bad, but its not my favorite. But I remember how I hated Sparkle at first listen and after PV I fell in ultimate love till today. Good music video can make a miracle. Sweet Season also did this to me. |
I kind of wanted You are the only one to get a PV but Mad world is also one of my faves, so i'm not mad.
I REALLY REALLY hope she doesn't go easy, safe or lazy with these. She needs some visual epic-ness for those. And honestly? as much as i found Winter diary's PV intriguing i'd live without seeing an ending for it if we got a PV for a new song instead. |

I have only seen the Angel PV, but I like that one. Though I've heard that some of the Colours PVs seem kind of cheap? What was the smartphone selfie one, XOXO?
Do you think that releasing the songs before the covers and PVs could run against those? Now everyone has a specific image in their mind. I would like to have covers similar to those of ayu-mi-x IV. But as it's Ayu, you'll never know. Despite the title, the arrangement on some songs and the tour concept, the covers may not have any Japanese imagery at all. It's Rock'n'Roll Circus everything I sing is rock Ayu after all. lol |
Just because it's called FLOWER it doesn't mean there should be flowers in the pv lol. Imagine her in an AHS directed Last Minute PV where she just stares at the watch for 4 minutes...
I am glad she picked two of the songs I like best. I hated how she chose The Gift to have a PV last year as everything about that song was predictable and the video was boring. |

His last work with Ayu was quite some time ago. Marionette almost 10 years ago. |
It's not only titled FLOWER though. Flowers are a quite major part of the lyrics.
So she hasn't worked with the directors who made some of her best PVs in like ages? Would be nice if she would bring some of them back, seeing as we are in a Ayu renaissance. |
Masashi Muto is very good as well. He is the main go-to for PVs since she stopped working with some of the older directors.
Hideaki Sunaga also does good work. |

Wataru Takeishi came back for a bit too. IIRC, his PV was pretty okay and well received. (Sweet scar on again)
Muto did Depend on you ages ago and then some PVs here and there till coming back for good for Microphone and Sexy little things. Hideaki Sunaga did ANGEL'S SONG and Greatful days. A Crew was her 'staff' that did all the PVs for Colours. A list with bolded names: Spoiler:

I keep envisioning this sequence of images.
When FLOWER starts playing, it shows a desolate late with wilted flowers with Ayu in the middle crushing them with her hands. And then the scene cuts to one that is brightly lit with a beautiful array of flowers around Ayu and her band. Ayu wears a short rocker kimono outfit with a traditional Japanese hairdo, all bunned up. As Ayu sings, the flowers start to die away due to certain surreal reasons. In another scene is a white hair-ed ayu, who is wearing a white dress/kimono, a sign of purity and also death (ghostly symbolism). Somehow Mad World links to this desolate world idea hahaha it would be so awesome if she portrayed Japanese legends again...like what she attempted to in part of Me. |

Mad World??? Really unexpected...I thought that song is kinda weaker than others to promote this album. Hope they will add another PV. Looking on the time frame, Ayu even can produce PV in just a few days (Winter Diary PV). So the hope is still there.

And for Mad World I somehow envisioned people that are standing still like frozen in time and ayu just runs through them and begs at them "Oshiete yo ne.." and at the end she's in front of herself and breaks down or smth like that.

It's not really a rumor anymore. Official information sources have FLOWER + Mad World. She made some good choices.

I liked the sixxxxxx shoot... the covers anyway. The inner booklet stuff was a bit iffy.
Just saying though, if she had already finished everything, we would have gotten covers and PVs when the album dropped, so why keep it all a mystery up till now and beyond? With that said, I am not expecting much for covers or PVs, but it would be nice to get something a bit different. And even if we did get this simple shoot, it's fierce as hell so I don't mind either way. Interview for Numero was done March 31st and the shoot probably followed shortly after if not on the same day. IF we get this shoot as the main M(A)DE IN JAPAN shoot, why would they not have released it alongside media for the press release when it was done more than a month prior with all the tour goods images floating around as well? We're getting PAMPHLET previews, I think, which is why she's wearing the same thing in everything as the pamphlet images. I don't know about you, but I swear we have gotten pamphlets that were not the same as the album art at all. Quote:

i'm always expecting for concept but i never get my hopes up, really. That's one thing i gave up on with Ayu. Japan in general isn't very much into concepts. And talking about Hamasaki, you can count the covers on 2 hands from the amount she had, how many of them actually had concepts, the stuff that doesn't look like a beauty shot or a mag photoshoot with props from a first glance. SO really.
And @Zeke, you really don't need to go all out and about, and spend 1mln on a set or travel somewhere to get a cover with full impact. They just need to be cleaver. Simple stuff can be really effective if done right. Though It happens very rarely in j-pop industry i have to say. |
I think we can almost be sure the covers will be in the same vein.
Simple, natural etc. Her photoshoots and promo pictures almost always reflect the image of the album they are promoting, the scenery it depicts. |
I want to say that since we're getting Japanese-y style bonus goods, I wonder if they'll try to incorporate that somehow into the album art. Simple and elegant yet very Japanese.
