i rewatched it now, only because of you!!! :D:D:D

youre right, she is screaming in brillante, BUT its not that bad. for example if you compare green with made in tokyo and the performance in made in japan, made in tokyo is aweful. the song was 30 seconds and she had 5 or 6 really bad tones but then, we were all like ' oh wow'. its so much more controlled and its amazing to hear ayu that good.in End Roll or rainy day, which forces her to scream because the song is like that, she just stops singing and concentrate on her next outcome.

come on guys, she didnt sound that good the last 3 years.

Refix 23rd August 2016 09:03 AM

I still think Cirque is the best concert. The best set list, the best costumes, the best performance, the best vocals and so on.
Adding samisen instrument in some of the songs pretty good though, other than that, I don't feel anything that blows my mind when I watch this concert.
The stage seems a lot bigger than one in Yokohama. That stairs is useless also. Just bring back the old two stairs stage.
And yes, the intro video should be cooler if she brought Rule inspire MV.

Someone said here that recording material wasn't seen during Osaka dates so it's likely that the DVD will be the Yoyogi one.

IKR??? She hit the high note and I was like DAMNNN. And yes, Yoyogi will be for the DVD/BR

Was there in Osaka and yes, BRILLANTE wasnt AS good as the one in the video? But it was still alright. It was a goddamn emotional performance and she was suspended so I give it to her. BRILLANTE was the most shouty song (followed by INSPIRE) imo. And these vocals in the aired footage were pretty close to what I heard live so i think only minor tweaks were done.

Corvina 24th August 2016 07:29 AM

Watched it and it was a great concert.
She is shouting here and there (yeah, Inspire e g.) but overal really nice vocals like the soft ones in BRILLIANTE or the higher ones in SURVIVOR( even though there are also some high notes in BRILLIANTE she didn't hit). What bothered me more is her using her "cute" voice that much again, it just doesn't sound nice. Even the acapella part for evolution sounds weird...

And I have to agree that her only sitting in FLOWER destroyed the energy of the song sadly.

Btw. I prefer this tour to Cirque de Minuit. CdM was way too overdramatic and overproduced for my liking. This one is softer and more focused imo.

RealLight 24th August 2016 08:15 AM

GREEN/FLOWER/WARNING - Nice opening
rainy day/MOON - Perfomances were beautiful, loved how lovely she looked
INSPIRE/You & Me~Lelio~XOXO~glitter - The outfits here (for Ayu & dancers) fitted perfectly for the medley, but for INSPIRE it just seemed out of place.
BRILLANTE/Mad World/Endless sorrow - Another beautiful section, I feel BRILLANTE was lip synced, the way she sang felt different from the rest.
ever free - Beautiful segment, I just think that voiceover in the end was unnecessary.
Survivor/until that Day... - Survivor was nice, loved her vocals and the outfit.
Days/You were... - It was good, nothing out of ordinary.
evolution ~ SURREAL/vogue/You are the only one - Perfomances = beautiful. New arrangements = no. I just can't get into them, the songs lose all their magic.

Overall, it was a pretty concert, I think I enjoyed more that last year's. But things that bother me: overdramatics/fake crying, cutesy voice (this seriously needs to go) and idk how to put it, but it's a way she's been singing lately that I just can't like (I really don't know how to describe it, but whatevs). And like I said, I hope she ditches the new arrangement thing, they take everything that made me love a song away.

rainbow_smile 24th August 2016 08:34 AM

I don't think she lip synched anything this time around, even WARNING

Surreal17 24th August 2016 12:10 PM

I love this tour. I haven't felt like this with an Ayu Arena Tour since Power of Music 2011. The setlist is amazing, the chapters work really well together. I usually have some songs that I want out but here I'm ok with almost all of them. until that Day.. is a song that I love but I wasn't too satisfied with the live.
The new arrangements are rich and magic, definitely a must watch section of the tour.
Her vocals are good to great and wow..those high notes!
Favourites : GREEN - FLOWER - rainy day - BRILLANTE - Mad World - Endless Sorrow- Survivor - evolution~SURREAL - vogue - You are the only one

douggn 24th August 2016 02:14 PM

She looks nice, a shame they are all reused outfits, except her kimono and mad world outfit. Its kind of feels like she didn't have much time, or 're normal time she gets to get ready, and they just threw bits and pieces from her old tours. We got a mix of pv, a-nation and altered photo shoot outfits :P just kind of makes the whole theme seem silly if they look like reused outfits, like why not just call it arena tour 2016 :P

Aderianu 24th August 2016 03:03 PM

I like the fact that ayu use old outfits. She's not a diva who never wear one dress twice

We have thread about this somewhere here...

SayukiChoco 24th August 2016 05:25 PM

Yes, she indeed shouted a little bit more during BRILLANTE in Osaka but it really wasn't that bad. It was still an enjoyable performance. INSPIRE was okay for me concerning the shouting, Endless sorrow was worse. It was alright though.

And what's so special about Cdm? I haven't attended the tour but it didn't seem THAT great to me (maybe her GAME performance). She performed more songs yes but when I look at what it did to her voice at the end of last year I'm glad she chose not singing so much this time.

luna7996 24th August 2016 09:24 PM

Just finished watching and personally I found the first half of the show disappointing (dare I say boring?). I really enjoyed almost everything after Brillante tho. Brillante itself was haunting and beautifull. Fantastic performance for a fantastic song. The whole Brillante-Mad World- Endless Sorrow section was perfection. Evolution was surprisingly nice but tasky, Flower and Survivor deserved better. Overall nice concert but definetly not my fave from her.

I think she sounded great in most of the recent CDLs actually! CDM was great, the one before the Premium Showcase too (that Love song performance!), even the CDL HLS sounded pretty amazing to me!

I really enjoyed this tour, definitely simpler and closer to the public. The voice didn't bother apart from WARNING, I know someone has already been told off here for saying she was off key, but whatever the reason it sounded terrible! The fact that they didn't alter the voice too much kind of made me feel like I was there, so I enjoyed it!

Oh and the monkey/Endless Sorrow guy is hot, that helped too.

truehappiness 24th August 2016 10:14 PM

I think that guy is Ayu's new favorite. He usually does Cirque performances it seems.

!Lawi! 24th August 2016 10:23 PM

I like when she changes the "main" dancers. RnRC was so great for that, when they all came dressed like during their segment at the end!

rainbow_smile 24th August 2016 10:28 PM

Riki used to work at Cirque du soleil actually lol

I think Zin and Lico are Ayu's favourite dancers though

attractive nausea 24th August 2016 10:43 PM

^ Really? I didn't know! That makes me like him even more haaaa.

Uknow! 25th August 2016 09:32 AM

KO and Kazuma are taking Shuya's spot.

I love Kazu and Ayu. Wake me up (ABL), Because of you (AT2010), 1LOVE (AT2015) <-- That one was hot.

krtman2002 25th August 2016 10:37 AM

I attended the final at Yoyogi and the first one in osaka (when she fell during you and me) and the acoustic in Yoyogi was horrible so I enjoyed the osaka one the most.

Even though ayu was out of tune sometimes she sang really well in both concerts. Brillante was stunning and flower too. I'd have preferred she danced during flower but I saw her there as a diva, so I loved that performance too.

It was a great show but still thinking rnrc tour is the best one.

Ryusei 25th August 2016 03:21 PM

Watched the boradcast yesterday and i was positively surprised. I liked the themes of the different sections and she sounded really good. Brillante was def. A highlight for me it looked so spectacular and since the song is so epic it just made the performance even better. She sounded best during MOON and you are the only one imo she nailed these songsI think the only reason why she can never do you were... right is because of crying. those hard to hit notes in the chorus and crying just dont work. Otherwise she would sound totally fine I think and it's one of my fave ayu ballads so i'm glad she sang it.
In conclusion i'd say it's not as good as CdM but then again that's like her best tour ever IMO but it was still a solid 8.5/10 for me. Can't wait to see the unbroadcasted songs too. I wonder what she sounded like during boys & girls because IMO she sounded better during evolution than usually.

rainbow_smile 25th August 2016 04:21 PM

She actually sounded really good in You were... during the quieter chorus (the one after "Yasashikute atataka sugiru omoide ga") at one of the concerts that I attended, so yes, she could totally nail the song if she wanted to.

js_surrealism 25th August 2016 04:42 PM

For me it's definitely not her best tour ever, but it's still miles better than the joke that was Cirque du minuit.

Refix 25th August 2016 07:55 PM

After watching the MC session in CDM, I really hoping LICO and Kazuma came back in this concert MC, they're hilarious to watch!!!

Cahz- 25th August 2016 09:26 PM

Such a good concert, my favorite part is the Japanese section, rainy day and Endless sorrow. An that ever free performance was truly captivating.

EndOfTheWorld 26th August 2016 01:50 AM

After watching the concert I felt very satisfied with everything.:yes
But to be honest, I don't know why people are saying that the vocals have been so edited. I just don't hear it. I usually can tell but this time I can't. It just sounds like a normal live concert recording. I feel like when artist use some kind of edit or processing system, it seems pretty obvious. Overall though, the vocal performances were great to my ears. Not the best ever but pretty damn good:thumbsup

I thought the tracklist was great. Still hoping for a live performance of Mr. Darling and Breakdown at Countdown. I think the whole concert really benefitted from having a slightly shorter tracklist. I mean the Cirque de Minuit FINAL had over 20 songs! My only complaint is Survivor. I don't think it really fit in with Autumn, it just doesn't have the right sound. Especially coming in after the beautiful ever free.

As for the stage designs and everything. I thought it was amazing. I didn't think the stage was too flat. Not all concerts need multiple levels. The stuff with the projector was very nice! It was very gorgeous and at times very immersive. But I felt there were some draw backs to using this method for the screen/video. When the lights were low, it was so immersive and vibrant, but once the lights turned on it just made it very obvious that it was a projection on a screen. It kind of just pulled me out of the experience. I understand that they need to illuminate Ayu so we can see her and her dancers and Ayu need to see where they are going on stage but, I wish they could have found a way to do that without effecting the screen. I'll add pictures to show what I mean.

Overall I really liked everything. The songs, the vocals, the outfits, the stage, and so on. Oddly one of my favorite moments was the ever free part. I thought that was so beautiful and well done. I think this tour is one of my most liked out of the ones from the past few years. Really since Power of Music.

Chibi-Chan 27th August 2016 10:08 PM

Just watched the tour with a friend who's also an Ayu fan and who I met a few years ago trough ahs. We both agree, this was her weakest show in a long time. Very disappointing. Recyled performance after recycled performance. The only cool thing was the new arrangement for evolution. Oh and vogue was great too.

truehappiness 27th August 2016 10:21 PM

I think she just had a very stripped down vision in mind for this show which was planned from the get go, so it isn't as flashy as previous tours. Despite that, I'd say that from BRILLANTE to ever free may be one of her best sets ever. That shadowplay section was amazing~

dreamalley 27th August 2016 10:31 PM

I was most looking forward to seeing "BRILLANTE" and my expectations were high.

But in the end I was disappointed.

It seemed like the weakest performance vocals-wise in the whole show. And the acrobatics weren't as interesting as I expected.

Her performance really reminded me of Pink's: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcBn0_yCY20

But all in all it was a good show.

Out of four different tours I attended, I'd say that A BEST LIVE was the most mediocre one, visually, followed by Made In Japan which, while it had it's moments, does fall short of following up the awesomeness of Cirque de Minuit which is absolutely my all time favourite. The show was visually way more coherent and simply had an almighty setlist. Made in Japan was fun, but far from her very best. I did like the setlist a lot though. flower, evolution and vogue remain my fave performances followed by Summer Love and tsmgo.

Evan Odinson 28th August 2016 12:35 AM

I think you guys are way too used to paraphernalia, too much visual and effects, concerts can focus on music too you know :rolleyes I think that was the intention here and back in PoM, less show, more music, not attacking anyone tho, hope it doesn't sound rude :)

She shouts the entire chorus of You were... even in the studio version, it's the main reason I just cannot stomach the song. I am the biggest fan of Japanese winter-themed songs (ballads, midtempos, etc.), but You were... was seriously such a letdown for me when it was released. I still can't listen to it - when the chorus hits I always feel like "I need to turn this off." What a vast difference the emotions and thoughts I feel while listening to the magical No way to say. In that case, I'm always thinking "I NEED TO TURN THIS UP~"

I agree with this very much.
It's not like she did nothing. She worked really hard to put on a great show and I think she achieved that. It seems like some people are expecting Ayu to keep stepping up with each tour, more and more spectacle. But a show can only be so grand and flashy.
With Ayu it's either people are disappointed in her vocal performance or in the visual. The more flashy a live performance is the more the vocals get sent to the background.
Music should always be the number one priority in a concert. That is how it was originally anyway.
Everyone has their opinion. For me I would rather go to a more basic show with good vocals than a really fancy one. With both Power of Music and this tour I believe that is what happened here. CDM was awesome but I don't see why it's the best. I am SO GLAD that Ayu is done with the whole circus thing.

Aderianu 28th August 2016 10:38 AM

Isn't it first tour without Miyazaki Yusuke on keyboard?

To be honest I don't see where on earth her focus here was on music. Most performances were recyled and almost identical to other tours, it's not like they have less visuals or something. This wasn't supposed to be a best of kind of thing or something. Furthermore what I totally hated was her focus on the show and the dancers and NOT on music. This is the very first time I'm complaining about her dancers. I always liked them because I felt they added to the show and told a story. Especially in Hotel Love songs. But this time they were just there for the sake of being there. There was no story whatsoever they added to, not a single song was performed without them. Why there has to be a focus on a dancing show during rock songs and ballads and not on music when there is no storyline they could add to is something I honestly don't get. This show wasn't "stripped down", it simply was boring and uninspired.

truehappiness 28th August 2016 11:56 AM

I thought the dancers were far more distracting in some of her other tours. In this, it feels like they have purpose. And for Ayu, this is 'stripped down'. Having watched all of the tours so far, I feel like this was not really as recycled as you say other than the outfits being mixed from some other eras. Just what performances specifically were identical to other tours?

Chibi-Chan 28th August 2016 12:14 PM

^INSPIRE, rainy day and MOON for example.
It's not like you have to agree with me, but I stand by my opinion. There was no red line, no story here. Just Ayu and dancers performing songs like they always did. The whole seasons chapter thing wasn't even executed well. If I hadn't known, I woudn't hve guessed there were chapters.

truehappiness 28th August 2016 12:19 PM

Hm, even if they were done before, they were not the same as their counterparts. I think for some performances, due to the projections, they were some of the most gorgeous 'sets' she's ever had. Much different from what they had executed before.

fuawas 29th August 2016 08:52 PM

I absolutely loved what they did with the projections! Specially during the Rainy Day/MOON segment, one of my favourites.
I do have to say that I wasn't very fond of the You&Me/Lelio/XOXO/glitter medly but otherwise it was a great concert ^^

xLuna&1LOVE 30th August 2016 02:56 PM

Took time to watch the concert. Or at least most of it. I am actually very surprised how great it looks. When I only saw the pictures of her outfits, I was like... 'meh.' But now, seeing it together with set and performance: it looks really well.

My favourite part is the rainy season. I really loved the projection performance of rainy day. That might be the biggest highlight of the concert, in my opinion. Also the chapter of nothingness looks great. That she perform these stunts while singing, is very spectacular. However, I was not a big fan of Mad World. Ayu's crying comes over too staged for me.

The vocals were allright. I have nothing really bad to say about it. I'd expected worse.
I really was not hyped that much about the Made in Japan versions of GREEN, evolution and vogue. I really hope she never performs GREEN like this again. vogue caught my attention more; it captured the essence of the song better, ... right(?)

Overall I am positively surprised. It looks like a good concert! And separating the songs in chapters was a really great idea.

aliceshields 31st August 2016 08:18 AM

I just watched. When beginning of Survivor I thought she sing Inspire again.

Hmmmm I'm not a fans of cutie singing part...

mi|kshake 1st September 2016 09:39 PM

Finally watched the concert! I gotta admit for the opening, Green and Flower didn't wow me although I love how they segued into one another. But I do wonder if the opening will have a bit more "oomph" when I see the Blu-ray version.

The performance of Rainy Day is my favourite performance of that song! I loved the screens! There were a lot of performances I enjoyed so I look forward to seeing the full show when it's released. I did love the arrangement of the Evolution intro but overall the arrangement felt a bit messy for me.

Overall though, I did enjoy this show even if it isn't one of my favourites!

pedronekoi 5th September 2016 03:32 PM

I watched the concert yesterday and I'm really happy with it! <3

I loved the parts according to the weather, it was a really nice concept. The Rainy Part was my favorite! The interlude of "rainy day" was AMAZING! One of my favorites of her. The choreography idea was on point and very original.

BRILLANTE was really impressive as well. I loved the aerial dance. She slayed it once again. And I loved the intro of INSPIRE, with the desert on the screen.

Talking about the screen, I loved that it was a HUGE back screen from side to side. Much better than just the regular horizontal screen that she uses on the top of every stage.

Can't wait to watch the full version of it!

^20th anniv is coming. Brace yourselves! Seriously, I can already see the amount of ridiculous releases avex will subject us to. 15th anniversary countdown was bad enough.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 8th September 2016 04:25 AM

AND I WILL BUY IT ALLLLL! I can't wait.

I wonder where her concerts will be held for the 20th anniversary tour, since yoyogi will be closed down. It's the only venue I've ever been to and I love it!!! wahhhh.

truehappiness 8th September 2016 09:52 AM

Yokohama and/or Saitama, I think.

M(A)DE IN BALLADS + M(A)DE IN JAPAN + M(A)DE IN TOKYO
:P

Acoustic in Yoyogi is awful, I was surprised how bad it sounded there. Saitama is so much better from my experience. It's also very easy to access from Tokyo. Next time I'll try to go there.

Yokohama Arena is also much better. It's not that surprising about Yoyogi; it's quite an old venue.

What was awful about Yoyogi? Yokohama is worse, it has sick echo.

spanishfan 10th September 2016 04:50 PM

Maybe due to my situation (at arena, in the same row as the end of catwalk, but at the side) I percived high echo when i turn my head to watch the catwalk. With my ear near the stage i got the sound so much fast that with the ear facing the opposite side. I guess someone who didn't have to turn his head like 90º didn't have this problem.

I've never had bad sound at Yokohama. The problem with Yoyogi is that it was never built with music in mind. It's a sporting venue built for the Olympics back in the 60s. Nothing about the building screams modern concert venue or modern venue at all. It's all concrete, the seats are pretty uncomfortable etc. Generally speaking there are much better music venues in Tokyo imo.

I think the fact that it hasn't been released, means that there is some future product that is already planned. Probably bundling it with a new best of compilation or something next year? Or maybe they plan a live box collection. She hasn't had one of those since way back in 2003.
