I'm absolutely in love with Yorokobi no Kakera. If she was able to perform the song on Music Station it would deffo become a hit. Hoping either Yorokobi no Kakera or On My Way (if its good which I think it will be) are the main promo songs for the album and that we also get more TV performances besides Good Time Music.

Good Time Music is a talk show. There won't be performances, only interviews. But she is going to talk about her new album.

From the inside previews we have I personally prefer Promise you so far. I'd really like to see the hidden performance of it, but if nobody shares it I have to wait till W FACE is published. :0

Generic isn't bad when you enjoy the genre lol. I love hip hop/R&B, so I doubt I will be unhappy. As long as I like it, she doesn't need to redefine the genre. I find she more just brings her own flavour to the songs.

^yeah, I used the wrong word. They don't et me yet (the songs) - I would which for something similar to her old, Kumi-ish urban style -yet again, i have and cherish those old songs. From the previews, neither side grabs my attention yet. from the description it is outside, but I want say it is better when I haven't heard the songs yet.

When I was in Japan in October, I walked around with a friend in Yokohama and suddenly I heard from a car kuu's come back!!
I was extremely surprised since what are the odds to hear a non-single song from kuu's debut album from a passing car on the road lol.
It was probably a fan and I was really moved when I heard it. =)

At first I was like "wait I know this song, it sounds familiar..." (probably because of the shock that it was this song), but it was a really nice experience.

Also when I was in a shop in Takayama there was kuu's Someday karaoke version in a shop.

I'm not really all that jazzed about any of the previews. All the "dance" tracks sound really gimmicky. Like "oh, this one has a sax" or "oh, this one has a cowbell." And can she take it easy on the claps; sounds like someone just dragged a sample from the bin into the mix and looped it - didn't even bother to add any effects to it.

Idk to me it just sounds like the most basic of basic that anyone can get.

This was my problem with cup cake. I mean how many times can you ask someone to be your cupcake and the clapping :rolleyes that's original. All these previews sound like cup cakes part 2 to me.

As excited as I am for the new album, I have no interest in listening to instrumental-only previews...so I'll be withholding judgement until I hear something more complete.

On 14th February there will be a Live broadcast of J-Wave Groove Line in the Sound Museum in Tokyo. Entrance is free. Kumi is scheduled to appear 6 pm Japanese time.

Today in her Line post she thanked everyone taking part in this preview campaign and she says it's very helpful for her to produce the tour right now.
So I guess depending on which side will win, we will maybe get more (old) poppy songs and ballads or more dance tracks? Or even for the execution of theme?
And she ended with "till tomorrow", so we're getting new previews tomorrow.

Oh please lmao. I listen to plenty of music that is minimalist or less produced. There's a significant difference between minimalist/stripped back, and cheap and amateur production. These previews are the latter.

My opinion doesn't need to be agreed with but let's not make random assumptions about me or my music taste.

I don't like everything from the preview, then again these are just 15sec.
Kumi is a pop music artist who ventures into territories on the side-road. If she eery titles herself a "minimal"-artist, complain about it not being that. And as for the rest, just because it is Kumi she does not have to please you and the other way around, you are not obliged to love it. If you don't like it, fine - but being rude a negative is not the way.

As from my point of view: the description of the two albums is exactly what she is doing ever since TAKE BACK with the usual growth of own taste and what is in right now. If you ever liked her music, there is nothing on this or the last few albums that is not the Kumi you know. Maybe you evolved away from her and it is time to give her up - or at least your nostalgic expectations?

I guess that's what they're calling... "avant-garde."

It's always the same fan base making those comments. Fantome is the epitome of cheap, outdated, and basic but you don't see me or other Kuu fans going into her thread.
