Just listened, well not fully, managed to get through half. Borring, repetitive and too long for what it is. NEXT. I kinda knew this is gonna happen. Beautiful covers and the video will probably be nice but the song is just filler for me. It almost feels like it doesn't even belong to Ayu, like it doesn't suit her. It's just so bland. I wasn't a fan of Colours at all but even that was a bit more flavourable that this.

I'm glad most are digging this, though. Considering what's on trend today - she fits right in. And i'm not digging todays market lol I just like my drama, build-ups and detailed arrangements, this has neither.

This song is pretty good, she's really stepping up her game sound-wise. I love that Show me love-esque beat throughout the song and the bridge is amazing, just like Nonfiction.
My only complain is some vocals on the chorus sound unpleasant (like those background "yeeahh"), maybe a higher pitch on the chrous would have helped.

Since Party Queen she always wanted to make "western" songs, thats why Colors is such a weak album. i didnt apprieciated her "classical" mellow songs back then, but now i kinda miss them and I hate to say how she miss the point of being *japanese* diva.

I dunno maybe i'm too old now, but, really i was never a fan of EDM in general i always found it really repetitive and borring, so it's always a disappointing to me when she does those. I started listening to her BECAUSE she was not the western artist. I don't even like most of the classics but she always had this diversity which feels like it has been somewhat dwindling down. I do think she needs new people to work with. And still all the stuff she's had even if it sounded generic, it works so well with who she is - powerful choruses and emotions. This song literally has no emotion there, just the same monotonous beat with a couple of sounds thrown in. Ayu's stuff has emotion, energy, i just feel none of it in this one. Even Nonfiction had more energy and mood in there which i don't like either, this one just sounds lazy to me. So yeah i want the "diva" lol

Even if house is not my jam and it might feel 'outdated' I don't really think we can categorise it as that. The new composer, who has worked with Ayu, understands what the trend is nowadays (Beyonce, Tinashe and a lot of artists now). I think this is the first time in many years that Ayu has released a song that is not disconnected from the rest of the world.

That is not to say that it is good or bad, nor that I prefer it, but I think it is important to comment on it.

I prefer non fiction. The verses of Summer Again are excellent, they're a 10, but the chorus loses rhythm and doesn't sound melodic enough.

I find the song alright after a couple of listens and on speakers, I do have a problem with the English lines and the way she does the chorus as her voice does come out unnatural. I am happy she is trying new things and definitely prefer Nonfiction ro this, but it will probably grow on me as it’s an over-all a well produced track.

Love it. Can’t wait to play it in my car tomorrow. But on one listen, I’m super pleased. I was hoping the chorus would be uplifting and fun and have some energy to it, which it does! I thought it would be some monotonous beat/sound effect with no melody but it didn’t pull back, it went in! It’s very happy and just, a ray of sunshine. I think the verses capture the heat of summer, the uncomfortableness at times… but the chorus captures all the good things that accompany it.

If I had to choose, I prefer a Nonfiction, but both of these tracks are songs I’m going to be happy to hear on the album!

Hmm… At first I really didn’t care for it. Now that I’ve had it on repeat for a while… I like it, but I do wish she’d either sing in a register that didn’t leave her sounding so “pitchy”, or that they’d edit it out. It’s pretty bad in DaD as well, but feels worse in this one.

Japan and especially Tokyo is still in the middle of a record heat wave. I saw on NHK news offices are shutting off lights and setting thermostats to 82F (28C?) in order to prevent a power outage.

I think it’s just to emulate summer being the “extreme”, the “peak”… “dazzling.” So they went extreme, and dazzling, with the accessories. She is trying to be the embodiment of summer here. Perhaps the sun itself.

Cheesy engrish aside, I actually really like the song.
It has elements of it that are so ayu but enough differences that it stands out in her discography. Lyrically it could be stronger but I am okay with not every one of her songs having deep lyrics.

I think it stands out among most of her summer jams because it's not going full force with the cutesy/upbeat vibe to the point where it can be a bit nauseating. It sounds cute at parts but it's not overboard.

It's a fun, light, catchy summer song that I'm enjoying a lot :) Can't wait for the music video!

This is the first time in years I've immediately put a new song of hers on repeat. Like, damn girl.

Then again, I've never been a big fan of the standard J-pop summer songs like July 1st, Blue Bird, glitter, etc. I'm also glad she's not rehashing more of the same from 15+ years ago. I could tell right away that this was a new or underused composer for her! I hope the GP takes well to it.
