Total sales: 4,692 copies sold

^ Thanks for the sales update! Been to busy to keep up with this release, ugh. Also, I see you ordered two globe albums; which ones, if I may ask? :)

ayu-michan 20th August 2016 08:03 AM

Their sales seem pretty low, but it's understandable :( Thank you for the updates. Now that I'm thinking about globe's sales for the first time, how many copies did globe20th album sell, does anyone know?

On another note, I'd like to hear why you guys started listening to globe :) Why did globe's music appeal to you? For me it was similar to ayu's in how versatile their music is.

visionfactory 20th August 2016 08:20 AM

^I randomly downloaded the Lights albums years ago but I only liked Hitorigoto, Lights brought the future and Merry Go-Round.

This year I specifically listened to Empty Lies from a TK album that someone uploaded to Jpopsuki (Even if the song is old it just appeared on OLIVIA's page recently). Then I decided to give globe a second try. I downloaded the decade album and loved some songs at first listen!

I ordered 8 YEARS best and Remode 1 album :)

A question I have, is there a particular reason why globe PVs are so scarce?

I mean during the early days we got some pretty ayu-budget level PVs, but during the later era PVs were shooted in a very lazy way (i.e. Many Classic Moments and seize the light which were basically one-shot recordings) and I think (I'm not sure) there are even singles that don't have a promotional video recorded for them.

According to generasia, it sold 20,909 copies during its eight weeks on the charts. It seems like a pretty decent number to me, but I'm not great at judging sales anyway.

Interesting question! My first globe experience was FACES PLACES the album, and I think it was the general 90s sound of the album that appealed to me at first; it was a whole new side of J-Pop to me, since I was mostly listening to 00s music at the time. The album had some songs I loved immediately (DEGENERATE, FACES PLACES, FACE), which encouraged me to try more globe, so next I tried Lights, loved all of it, and then basically hoarded all the globe music I could find. Same as you, I loved how versatile their music was, still do. :)

Nice choices!

As for the PVs, I can only speculate that globe's budget got shot when they shifted to a trance sound and started selling way less (from 1,7m copies of Relation in 1999 to 149k copies of outernet in 2001; yikes). Would be interesting to know more.

Oooh good idea!

The first time I heard Globe was through a music review thread on the Hikaru/Utada-online forums around 2004-2006. I think it may have been this performance of Departures, if not a similar one:

I was really interested in buying this version but it wasn't on the single so I didn't know where to get it and just forgot about it.

I would remember the song occasionally and made a couple of YouTube rips. I was also listening to TK tunes through Namie's albums and the tunes he later did for Ayu. (I also enjoyed Ayumi's cover of Seven Days War)

I think it may have been through a thread on JPM or JPopYuku about TK's work and I thought he's such a huge part of JPop that I really need to listen to more of his stuff. I was also looking for new JPop artists to try and had bought a couple of Capsule albums and although I really enjoyed their song World of Fantasy, it wasn't quite what I was after but Many Classic Moments seemed to satisfy this. I was downloading a few of Globe's songs from iTunes (and found the Arrival Version of Departures!) and listening to samples on iTunes but was still unsure about buying an album. Then when the Cover Best was announced featuring Ayu, Kumi AND Hyde, I thought buying the 2 disc version would be a great opportunity to get into them.

And although the cover disc was my favourite and I did wonder if I would like the originals as much as the covers, I slowly became addicted to Globe. Their melodies slowly get into your head!

I also agree about the versatility of their music like how Ayu has ballads and pop and rock songs, Globe has their pop/rock songs, trance tunes and ballads.

I was also wondering about their PVs? As a lot of them seem to feature concert footage. Is it because TK as so busy in the 90s? Could someone list all their PVs for me? I actually quite like the Many Classic Moments PV and wish there was a version for the full length of the song.

Also, are there any songs which only appear on singles or Best albums and not studio albums? I fancy buying some new Globe songs but don't want to spoil myself for any of their albums.

visionfactory 24th August 2016 11:39 PM

^I think the concert thing is just a fetish thing, those PVs look really cool but they are not the best for me. I preffer original footage.

It's a duo consisting of TK and DJ DRAGON.

I really liked their remixes for global trance and song+nation.

visionfactory 29th August 2016 06:33 PM

Remode 2 was put on sale in Taiwan! As soon as the seller list the item I think I'll get it ^_^

mi|kshake 4th September 2016 11:32 PM

I got an e-mail the other day to say YesAsia cancelled my order of Keiko's album as it was out of stock and they weren't able to source me a copy. Luckily a seller on Amazon.co.uk had a (new) copy I could buy - phew!

visionfactory 5th September 2016 09:09 PM

Glad you finally got it! and brand new ^_^

visionfactory 7th September 2016 06:46 AM

deep JAZZ globe digest

Kacku 12th September 2016 07:32 PM

To my great surprise, I found a leak of the KEIKO sings globe @ KEIKO solo tour 2000 live CD included in the 20th anniversary blu-ray box set! I'll try to upload it tonight, and if that doesn't work out, I'll do it by Wednesday night. Haven't had time to liste to it yet but I'm interested!

EDIT: OK, found the time to add the album to my discography thread, get it there if you haven't already found it somewhere else! Also got to listen to most of the album. It's really enjoyable, everything (Keiko, arrangements, sound in general) sounds good. :) Unsurprisingly, I loved FACE and on the way to YOU most of all; FACES PLACES is another favourite of mine, but I think this version wasn't quite perfect; but wanna Be A Dreammaker was pretty close to perfect, it's not one of my favourite globe songs but I enjoyed this version SO MUCH!

mi|kshake 12th September 2016 11:08 PM

^Oooh sounds interesting! I have only seen the clip of Face that Avex uploaded.

My copy of O-Crazy Luv was delivered on Sat and I only ordered it on 31 Aug with an expected delivery date of 9 - 29 Sep so very impressed! Level 4 on the other hand, still hasn't been shipped from YesAsia and I ordered it on 27 Aug (it should ship within 7 days).

I'm expecting YA to cancel it as they can't source me a copy but luckily there is a seller on Amazon.co.uk with a copy. I should really delete my YA order...

Kacku 13th September 2016 03:23 PM

^ Yeah, I'd recommend checking the album out, it's a nice treat!

Have you been listening to O-CRAZY LUV since you got it? Are you enjoying it? :)

Unfortunate that YesAsia seems to be out of copies. I bought mine a few years ago from CDJapan, at least back then it didn't cause any problems.

mi|kshake 13th September 2016 10:23 PM

I have! I expected to be more dance orientated but I'm enjoying it. My favourite song so far is Haru no Yuki.

visionfactory 15th September 2016 11:46 PM

A question!

Apart from the melody what's the relation between winter comes around again and DEPARTURES?

visionfactory 17th September 2016 09:35 AM

To my surprise globe's discography is a lot more complex than I thought

I found out that most of the songs on 8 YEARS album are different to the ones that I originally listened to, I think because they are "straight run" ver.
It seems that the versions I initially listened to on decade album were "album ver."

mi|kshake 18th September 2016 10:51 PM

Oooh good to know! Is the 8 Years album worth a purchase then?

I contacted YesAsia about Level 4 as it still hasn't been shipped.

visionfactory 19th September 2016 03:47 AM

^I think it depends on the ear of the person who is listening, maybe some people won't notice it. I hope you get your copy!

I recognized 5 tracks which were different to the originals I knew from globe decade album (Apart from the 2 remix songs):
1) Love again
2) FACES PLACES
3) FACE
4) still growin' up
5) DON'T LOOK BACK

2 and 3: basically MARC and TK voices are louder. KEIKO's voice is really really low in some parts of FACES PLACES.

1 and 4: the instrumental track is sightly different only

5: This is the most drastic change because KEIKO start singing right ahead at 00:01, she also sings some MARC lines and drums were added throughout the track.

mi|kshake 21st September 2016 11:36 PM

Thanks for the help visionfactory

Quote:

Afraid I can't help. I wasn't aware there was a connection apart from er...Winter?

I noticed that on Keiko's page on Wikipedia under her discography as KCO, it lists one of her releases as Mystic Fawn. Does anyone know what this is? I assume it's a song rather than an album.

YesAsia finally e-mailed me to say there were unable to get Level 4 from their supplier (so in the end all of my order for this month, O-Crazy Luv and Level 4 were cancelled), but I found it for a good price on Amazon (from the same seller I got O-Crazy Luv from I think, so I hope Level 4 comes as quick as that order did!)

mi|kshake 26th October 2016 11:53 PM

My copy of Level 4 arrived a few weeks ago and finally getting round to posting my thoughts on it.

So far I think my favourite is Out of C Control although I really need to listen to the album some more to form my opinion on it! Compass is also great!

I also need to listen to O-Crazy Luv again. I've been neglecting it with all the new music I have to listen to. I am enjoying it but was also hoping for more bangers like Humanrace!

ExodusUK 4th November 2016 07:32 PM

Last Angel borrows a lot from Winter Comes Round Again.

This song is seriously intensely brilliant

Concerning the video..I didn't know globe was so popular in Sinosphere countries back then.

Evolution7/4 5th November 2016 06:10 AM

Level 4 is definitely a grower. Not as good as The Lights albums but still some fantastically produced high flying trance pop. Be sure to check out the single remixes they are different and just as good as the album versions!

Irish_Ayu_Fan 5th November 2016 10:19 AM

My favourite track from Level 4 is Blow. Stunning

visionfactory 6th November 2016 07:19 AM

Don't know much about Level 4 music

Guess I'm getting introduced to globe by their biggest hits for now

I recieved avex ARCHIVES globe COMPLETE BEST vol.2 recently, I'm very happy with it!

Remode 2 is seriously so good, I can't stop listening to it. I remember thinking the cover looks a bit "childish" when first saw cover art of Remode 2, but now I take back all those thoughts, reason why is because

https://i.imgur.com/02NR5AC.jpg

Keiko was the one who wrote the title ;-( TK uploaded this on his twitter back during August, said he wanted to let her do more than just providing vocal tracks so he asked her to write the title in studio. Made me change my opinion 180 degree lol, now it just feels so personal to the listener??

Photos of TK and Keiko went out to eat for TK's birthday a few days ago

https://i.imgur.com/MzulAKm.jpg

SO HAPPY to see Keiko of the current time and not from just the past. I hope she will come back. And I agree, FACES PLACES is just pure genius of a song :yes

mi|kshake 30th November 2016 11:24 PM

It's so good to see Keiko again! (I was starting to wonder if we ever would tbh!) Thank you for posting these pics!

It's interesting to know she wrote the album title too.

And this does sound like a stupid thing to say but "OMG her hair is black!"

visionfactory 1st December 2016 02:37 AM

OMG thanks for posting these! It's so cool that she wrote the title :D I was just browsing yesterday to buy Remode 2 but I thought it was too expensive :/ compared to Remode 1 which had 2 CDs

I really love Remode 1 remixes!

CatGirl 23rd January 2017 12:55 AM

globe just got added on Spotify! And it looks like their entire discography is up on there :)

mi|kshake 23rd January 2017 10:57 PM

So cool! I will check out their remix albums. I don't want to "spoil" myself for the rest of their studio albums I have yet to buy!

visionfactory 1st July 2017 09:55 AM

When I started checking this thread I barely knew globe. I was introduced to their music by KEIKO's "Light brought the future" (from song+nation) and "Lights" album.

Now that I have time listening to their music I can say my favorite songs are Wanderin' Destiny and Can't Stop Fallin' In Love. I'm a fan of other TK works like Ami Suzuki and Namie Amuro but it's different at least for me, that for globe music TK worked hard on creating a special aura or feeling behind each song.

Also I didn't post it here! I recorded a clip of myself singing Cant' Stop Fallin' In Love for NHK's J-MELO and they broadcasted it! It seems that they broadcasted it for a second time with TK on the studio :( but I never found the full show online (I only found cuts with idols segments on the show..)

mi|kshake 3rd July 2017 11:41 PM

I have ordered Lights2 so can't wait to receive it!

I wish they would release more information on Keiko's condition although I understand that she may want to keep it private. I've always assumed that she will return to the stage one day. The only information that seems to be released about her condition is that "the prognosis appears to be good".

visionfactory 4th July 2017 11:01 AM

That's so good I wanted to order it but I quit my job so...

By the way I just found out that Sony re-re-released some globe albums in master tape format. How do you even play music in that format and how the packaging looks? Can't find pics of it anywhere

They released it on December 2016

mi|kshake 4th July 2017 11:06 PM

^Interesting, I never knew that! Is it just a collectors item?

YesAsia cancelled my copy of Lights2 as they were unable to source it. I think a lot of Globe's albums are out of print but Avex have re-released some of them luckily. I ended up ordering a used copy on Amazon for £5 as the new versions were around £30. Apparently, although used, it is good quality.

visionfactory 5th July 2017 08:40 AM

^Yes. It should look something like this

http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/...psimn88fks.jpg

And the tracklist goes like:

『Love again ~DELUXE EDITION~』

1. before dark
2. UNDER Your Sky
3. Love again
4. You are the one (globe version)
5. Nothing ever makes me happy
6. two keys
7. I'm bad
8. Watching everything
9. I'm still alone
10. Open Wide
11. Wanderin' Destiny (album version)
12. creatures
13. end of 3rd element
14. UNDER Your Sky (INSTRUMENTAL)
15. Love again (INSTRUMENTAL)
16. You are the one (OTHER INTRUMENTAL ver.)
17. Nothing ever makes me happy (INSTRUMENTAL)
18. two keys (INSTRUMENTAL)
19. Waching everything (INSTRUMENTAL)
20. I'm still alone (INSTRUMENTAL)
21. Wanderin' Destiny (INSTRUMENTAL)
22. creatures (INSTRUMENTAL)

Featuring hi-res remastering by Sony Music

It cost 3,500yen is not that expensive to be a collectors item

mi|kshake 6th July 2017 10:44 PM

I just realised TK posted a pic of him and Keiko on his Twitter last month https://twitter.com/Tetsuya_Komuro/s...76617952542721

visionfactory 8th July 2017 08:48 AM

Yes that pic is just too sweet!

mi|kshake 31st July 2017 11:14 PM

I did not expect Stop! In the Name of Love to be a cover of The Supreme's song although I am enjoying it!

And speaking of Stop! In the Name of Love... I've never even listened to the original, lol.

visionfactory 7th August 2017 07:52 AM

^I've never listened to the original either lol

Recently I bought TK 1998 LATEST WORKS

It includes a Live CD (Jean Michel Jarre feat. TK) and an original CD (TK feat. OLIVIA & MARC)

It is a very nice piece of art I love it

mi|kshake 7th August 2017 10:49 PM

I sometimes think how many more Globe albums we would have if it weren't for their health and legal issues. They'd probably have released another 10 by now.

ExodusUK 15th August 2017 10:43 AM

The album mix of Wanna Be A Dreammaker is a mess but I love it.

mi|kshake 16th August 2017 12:20 AM

Has other artist covered globe? Apart from 20th anniversary cover album

Kacku 22nd August 2017 12:29 PM

I know of a few globe covers outside the tribute album.

- Tomomi Kahala covered DEPARTURES on her 2014 cover album, MEMORIES ‐Kahara Covers‐. She also did Feel like dance the following year on her cover album MEMORIES 3 -Kahara Back to 1995-.

- JUJU covered Can't Stop Fallin' in Love on her cover album, Request II, in 2014.

- AAA covered DEPARTURES as a bonus track on their 2011 studio album Buzz Communication (which Tetsuya Komuro produced):

AAA's cover was the only one I could find on Youtube, but I could also recommend checking out Tomomi Kahala's covers, I haven't listened to them in a while but I remember them being quite nice. I'm pretty sure I also checked out JUJU's Request II back in the day but can't remember anything about it.

I did some searching but couldn't find any others. I'd be interested to hear more if they're out there though.

visionfactory 23rd August 2017 03:12 AM

^Thank you very much!! I really want to listen to Kahara covers :heart

I found Dream covered "Can't Stop Fallin' In Love" for dream Meets Best Hits avex album.

Kacku 23rd August 2017 04:27 PM

I had no idea about dream's cover! Listening to it on YouTube now, and it's ok. I'm really tempted to seek out the whole album though, since apparently they also covered Ayu's M, DAI's Oasis, and BoA's Every Heart. :laugh

Also, I remembered later that Ms. OOJA also did a cover of DEPARTURES on her cover album WOMAN 2 ~Love Song Covers~! Can't find that on YouTube either, unfortunately.

Thanks for posting the article, I had no idea TK had shared something like this! Hearing Keiko's voice was so nice and nostalgic... I'm happy she seems to be making progress in her recovery. I hope she'll record again one day.

Also, the song she's singing somehow really reminds me of her solo album. I should listen to that, it's been a good while.

Very late but anyway... I love outernet. :love It's full of great songs, has some of globe's best experimental tracks, and also two amazing pop ballads. It would be right up there with Lights among my favourite albums if not for another sad song and soft parade, but it's a great album despite the two bad tracks.

mi|kshake 23rd August 2017 10:57 PM

Thanks for your thoughts on Outernet guys!

Kacku 29th October 2017 10:41 PM

I've been listening my way across all of globe's singles (I'm now at dreams from above, so quite far already) on Spotify and I'd like to share some thoughts:

- I know it's been mentioned before, but it still always surprises me how many of globe's songs have different mixes featured on the album vs. the single release. TK was not lazy with globe's albums, clearly. The differences often aren't too huge, but I still tend to prefer the album mixes (maybe because I'm already familiar with them and my brain wants to reject the newer versions, lol). However, there are a few cases where I've found the album mix to be notably superior: try this shoot, THE MAIN LORD, on the way to YOU.

- The single and album mix of DEPARTURES are both good, but the true defining, superior version of the song is the ARRIVAL version from their ballad compilation.

- The FACES PLACES era singles are amazing (except Is this love, which is just alright), what an iconic era.

- I'm liking wanna Be A Dreammaker more every time I hear the song. I think I might prefer the album mix though, I've had lots of time to fall in love with all its messy glory.

- Aside from Dreammaker, all the other singles from the Relation era (Sa Yo Na Ra, sweet heart, Perfume of love) are just... bottom-of-the-barrel globe material. Perfume of love's verses are the only redeeming thing on these singles. What a terrible era.

- MISS YOUR BODY is such a weird single... Why does it even exist, honestly?

- Songs I haven't appreciated enough earlier: Wanderin' Destiny, Love again, still growin' up. These deserve more listening!

- Not related to singles but still globe: I did some traveling this past week and had downloaded globe's trance remix albums for listening. I can confirm that the global trance albums make for great music for melting into your seat and emptying your head on the plane. "Love again -Vincent de Moor trance vocal mix-" and "dreams from above -TK MIX-" are now big favourites.

ExodusUK 30th October 2017 12:54 AM

The single mix of I Wanna Be A Dreammaker is trash, like it really kills the songs atmosphere and energy with the lofi filter all over the track.

EndOfTheWorld 30th October 2017 07:51 AM

I also have been listening to globe regularly lately. I actually am in love with Perfume of love. I think I would place it in my top 10 favorite tracks from globe. Just the overall structure and progression of the song is addicting. I love the sounds going on and the transition into Keiko's verses.:heart
What I like about globe's songs prior to their transition to a more direct trance sound in the 2000s is that the composition of the songs is slightly familiar but also unusual. Sometimes at first listen something about the song seems off or disjointed but the more I listen the more I discover different sounds and little melodies and rhythms buried in the music.

The single mix of I Wanna Be A Dreammaker is trash, like it really kills the songs atmosphere and energy with the lofi filter all over the track.
The only version I (currently) have of Wanna Be A Dreammaker is the version from the 20th Anniversary Cover Best. Is this the single version?

Also loving reading your thoughts Kacku ! Gets me looking forward to all the great Globe songs I have yet to hear!

I'm not sure I'd go as far as calling it trash, but the single mix does definitely have less energy and I think it suffers from having less sonic spice and grit, which the album mix has in abundance. To mention a positive for the single mix, I like the change in dynamic when it moves into the first chorus: after Keiko yells out "wanna be a dreammaker!", the instrumentation goes very quiet and the vocals stand out much more. It would be even more effective if the rest of the song were louder (like the album mix), but it's still a moment I like.

Wow, top 10 for Perfume of love? I've never really seen anyone consider it one of their top globe tracks. I think I'll give it another chance...

By "prior to the transition to a more direct trance sound", are you referring to the Relation era, the singles leading up to the release of CRUISE RECORD, or even the outernet era? In any case, I definitely agree that songs from that time are definitely some of their most unusual, with varying results.

Yeah, that's the single version. The album version on Relation is more energetic, gritty, and noisy (in a good way).

So nice to hear you enjoyed my comments! :D I hope you end up loving many more globe songs once you get to them!

^Excellent! I love the single version of Wanna Be a Dreammaker so can't wait to hear the album version eventually! I'll no doubt wonder why I enjoyed the single version so much lol.

Yeah I have gained the sense that the Relation era is not the most loved.:laugh
I liked Perfume of love right away. But I do find the singles before then to be more likeable and accessible. Love again and FACES PLACES are favorites too.
I was referring to the outernet era and onwards. I love when globe does trance. Lights may be my favorite album. Come Into Existence is gorgeous.:heart

SHOCKING (sad) NEWS

TOKYO - Japanese pop music producer Tetsuya Komuro said Friday he will quit his music career after a weekly magazine reported his extramarital affair with a nurse.

Komuro, 59, who produced many million-seller songs for top Japanese pop singers including Namie Amuro, said he is retiring a day after the Shukan Bunshun weekly reported that he had an affair with a female nurse while his wife was struggling with the after-effects of a stroke.

The magazine said Komuro had dalliances with the nurse at a Tokyo hotel and at each other's homes in December and early January.

Wow, an absolute shocker. A major bombshell that we did NOT expect. :OMG

WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD TETSUYA KOMURO CHEAT ON HIS WIFE KEIKO!? :curse

We're really heartbroken to hear this news. Gosh, I have to wonder what is going to happen with J-pop now that Tetsuya Komuro simply shot himself in his foot... :confused

I did not expect this at all, such a shame for him :no even though I'm not a fan of his recent music but I feel so bad his music career ended in such a situation.

A shame for HIM??? His wife had a damn stroke she’s trying to recover from and he’s out there getting it in with one of the nurses!!?? My God if the situation wasn’t heartbreaking enough for poor Keiko.

There are consequences to everything you do in life - this was well deserved for him. Disgusting and you have to wonder what kind of human being is even capable of doing such a thing. We know where his priorities lie.

RIIIIGHT?!

And who, seriously, is actually shocked at this? He's a well known piece of trash, even with all the great songs he made. Even when you read about his marriage to Keiko it's... just, Keiko? What were you thinking marrying this guy??

Anyway, good riddance.

visionfactory 19th January 2018 07:38 PM

And what's going to happen with globe? Is Avex going to end the project altogether? I hope somebody (that is not MARC) would produce new compilations for them... even KEIKO was getting better at singing there was still a chance of them releasing something new again

Everything ruined by the scandal, was TK told to retire or Avex forced him I wonder

mi|kshake 19th January 2018 09:33 PM

Disappointed that he cheated on Keiko and is retiring. I was always hoping Globe would make a come back (and was still working my way through their discography)

I wonder what Keiko will do now?

He has composed so many amazing songs, it's disappointing that he isn't really a great person and has prioritised getting his leg over, above his wife who is still recovering, his child and music career.

Just ugghhh TK you are such an idiot! I do hope Keiko kicks him to the curb.

hud 19th January 2018 09:50 PM

good riddance.

mi|kshake 20th January 2018 09:30 AM

Man I am feeling so conflicted about this situation.

Normally with a retirement announcement, I would listen to loads of Globe and TK songs but after what he's done I just feel so disappointed.

I hate that he's hiding under the retirement announcement and getting lots of good will off fans from that. I don't think he was planning on retiring at all tbh. Pandora was a fairly new unit and I can't really imagine him living without music. And then he's also throwing into the conference that he's got Hepatitis C which is presumably self inflicted.

Where is Keiko in this? Did she even get an apology at the conference? I assume not, because he's dancing around the rumours he's cheated when he should just admit it.

I had the impression that Keiko's health had improved greatly (with the song he posted with her singing last year) but I'm hearing that it was mentioned at the conference that this isn't the case at all. It would be great if a translation of the conference appears.

Basically TK, you've really fucked this haven't you? Huh?

This. And I honestly can't regarding how most Japanese musicians are now all oh so so sad for TK.

Pictures of KEIKO seen on streets

KEIKO started tweeting other than "Oyasuminasai"

mi|kshake 14th February 2019 05:20 AM

Yay, so nice to see her out and about!

And finally, a new tweet!

visionfactory 27th August 2019 05:42 AM

Shame on avex, why there is no stock of their signature band CDs?

They even have a good percentage of TRF's discography on sale, I don't think this was due to TK's last scandal since the stock issue started way earlier

sitara 19th October 2019 10:22 PM

do good blogs or forums with posts about globe exist? I don't find much info other than wiki or generasia.

Also, what are your feelings on the outernet photoshoot? what is the story behind these pictures? I love the unsettling feeling they give me, but I really wanna know WHY they chose this kind of imagery?

(Who is the artist that shot the cover and booklet for outernet? Does anybody know? I'm interested in whatever else he/she does. I always liked how different most of globe's coverart is.)

visionfactory 23rd October 2019 12:47 AM

I still have a long way to go to discover globe's complete discography, I don't know the outernet album yet

I don't think globe have much english speakers fans active tough

It's on Spotify and Jpop torrents.

avex continues uploading old concert recordings on Youtube, and now those efforts have brought us globe's 2002 tour! I hope we'll get to see other globe lives as well, especially the genesis of next special live...

visionfactory 11th March 2020 07:53 PM

Oh my god I have never seen a globe concert!!

I'm so happy

Kacku 12th March 2020 12:01 AM

I had never seen a whole concert either! I had such a good time watching this one. :)

mi|kshake 13th March 2020 12:46 AM

Yes, hoping I'll get time to watch it! So many concerts to catch up on!

EDIT: Watched it and wow! I'd seen a few performances from this concert but never the whole thing. What a show!

The video is already private :(
Where can I watch globe concerts? I have never seen a live tour from them.

Bigtop 17th May 2020 08:20 AM

^ That video above was part of a limited-time 'compensation' program when the COVID-19 outbreak kicked into high gear in Japan late February/early March, forcing artists big and small to postpone/cancel concernts over spreading concerns. Avex dumped a bunch of past live concerts, but that ended at the end of April.

I don't know of a place to watch any of their concerts, unfortunately. :( You can find plenty of clips of from concert recordings on Youtube, but I haven't seen full concerts posted anywhere.

-____- ooff... too bad!
but thanks for the info!

I was just browsing TK's iTunes Store catalogue and found track "Akioto" on Far Eastern Wind Autumn album has KEIKO's voice in it.

Kacku 30th March 2021 12:39 AM

A bit of old news I just learned: TK and Keiko have divorced in late February.

Chibi-Chan 30th March 2021 01:55 PM

^oh I did not know. But good for her, he is an asshole. I guess that means no more globe also. I really hope KEIKO is ok and that her health is improving and that someday we will get new music from her. After all, it's her voice that makes globe as iconic as it is.

Kacku 30th March 2021 09:55 PM

Yeah, seriously good for her to be rid of him. I also really hope she's doing well and has recovered properly and will want to let fans know that one day. New music from her would be such a dream.

mi|kshake 30th March 2021 11:03 PM

Good for her! It would be amazing if we ever got new music from her.

EndOfTheWorld 3rd April 2021 08:05 AM

I didn't know this either. I hope both TK and Keiko move on to a better future. I'd like to see her get back to making music. Honestly I wasn't expecting Globe to go back to the way they used to be.
