xiaou-xijiang 8th September 2006 12:34 AM

you want scans of the thing go there. (I think there scans, he said he found 'em at HMV. WARNING: I was shocked. It looks like a prank from a little kid! :/

...

its actually pretty brilliant, seeing as how he did it in several cities and they can't seem to find all the ones sold.

Spoiler:

EDIT: he even put a video up on YT

HvnSntGurl 8th September 2006 01:16 AM

Wow! That guy went all out on this.

xiaou-xijiang 8th September 2006 01:18 AM

^yeah, his April Fool's pranks must be viscious. :laugh
I was wondering though, can Paris do any legal actions against this guy?

DerrickRocks 8th September 2006 04:06 AM

Spoiler:
Admit it. You think she's s-e-x-y :nudge

lmfao actually I like her annoying spoiledness. Her voice just simply.... sucks. If you're just saying her music is good, you might as well just give credit to the composers and say you like their work.

truehappiness 8th September 2006 05:19 AM

But MC likes that guy in the Evanescence video..~~ XD

Mad_Cactuar 8th September 2006 09:54 AM

I know, I said it before, her team of producers make the album great. But her voice isn't bad. It's just not good. Kind of like Lindsay, Hilary Duff, Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, and all those random Disney channel singers. Although Paris owns Lindsay anytime of the day. :yes

She's hot, too. :D

You have a problem with that Anthony? :gnash

truehappiness 8th September 2006 09:59 AM

Nope, not at all! :<

I just said it in response to:
Admit it. You think she's s-e-x-y XDD Never mind though. ;D

Is this song better than Paris? I'm considering. This song is HOT. I always thought it was crap, but... Wow, it's so cool. Anyone know who I'm referring to?

Kobayashiwoof 9th September 2006 04:52 AM

as much as i love paris, she sounds like a bad kareoke singer in her album

Ayu_Fan_00 9th September 2006 05:08 PM

omg, I had a dream about Paris Hilton

Basically I was in my room watching Stars are blind. It was basically clips of her and stuff. Then I met her and we hung out together. She didn`t really act that stuck up or mean or anything. It was pretty cool. That`s about it.

Weird

Kobayashiwoof 10th September 2006 03:45 AM

welll she does seem like a very nice person judging from the simple life, i dont think she is snnobby

ayu1m 10th September 2006 03:47 AM

^LOL?!

you must be kidding

Mad_Cactuar 10th September 2006 08:06 AM

And from the Making of... Stars Are blind, she was so sweet to everyone and even to the papparazzi. She was smiling the whole time.

i told you the album has subliminal messages lol i had a dream before i posted about it in this forum to be honest you should listen to Chris Kay's album its way better than paris's album lol

slashess 17th September 2006 06:36 AM

lol...I just laughed at this

kotora 17th September 2006 06:44 AM

I listened Paris's album again and again. How gay I am.

cybermoomba 17th September 2006 09:36 AM

It's #49 on billboard after only 3 weeks LOL :laugh

Mad_Cactuar 17th September 2006 01:51 PM

That surprised me really, I expected it to drop out quickly because of the not-so-good reviews and her drink-driving arrest. Plus she broke 100,000 already. :think

Kelis' highly anticipated follow up to Tasty dropped to #58 from #10 in it's second week. I wonder how B'Day is doing..

Halla 17th September 2006 06:38 PM

I think Paris's album is pretty good , in it's own genre of pure pop. it's certainly better than anything by Jessica Simpson lol

I found this video of her doing promotion for her album in Japan. Ayumi Hamasaki is mentioned in it too :P
[youtube] Paris promoting her album in Tokyo

I think Paris debuted at no.8 on the Oricon charts.

Paris's album isn't doing that bad on Billboard charts either. it's not uncommon for albums to drop 50 places in one week. it debuted high & it'll probably bounce back higher on the charts when she releases a new single off the album.

Mad_Cactuar 17th September 2006 11:00 PM

New single already out, "Nothing In This World". For some reason, it started getting airplay here in Malaysia. o__o That's very quick for a new song.

I think Paris might go Gold status.

truehappiness 17th September 2006 11:15 PM

I think it's sad that Jesse McCartney got a lower rating in Rolling Stones [as did Jessica Simpson] than Paris.. o-o

Rolling Stone = trash

HannahMntnaFan89 18th September 2006 06:59 AM

So I was at B&N with a friend (Who sings) today, and for some reason she really wanted to buy this album; I just had to stop her.

Friend: Oooh. Paris! I really want that!
Me: Don't buy it, it's horrible.
Friend: But I really want it!
Me: Have you heard the songs?
Friend: No.
Me: She can't sing, *Imitates singing style*
Friend: *Blinks and finds a Michael Buble album instead*

Mad_Cactuar 18th September 2006 12:57 PM

Isn't Michael Buble kind of worse?

~X2RADialbomber~ 18th September 2006 11:44 PM

Michael Buble has a much better voice then her. By far :yes

HannahMntnaFan89 19th September 2006 02:33 AM

marty518 19th September 2006 06:16 AM

Sigh, the album really isn't so bad! I bought it at Circuit City, because it's only $9.99 there. A lot of people think that music has to be meaningful or deep, or that the singer has to have a beautiful voice.

I agree that Paris doesn't deserve her fame. I also agree that she's not a good singer! However, I do think the album has good songs on it! I enjoy listening to at least 5 or 6 of the tracks. I don't care how airy her voice is or how stupid her lyrics are.. the sounds on the CD somehow strike some chord in my brain, and I enjoy the CD!

So, don't stop your friends from buying it! Maybe they'll get a lot of enjoyment out of it, too! I haven't taken it out of my car CD player since I bought it.

truehappiness 19th September 2006 06:25 AM

Honestly, if this album was done by some random superstarlet who is uber popular and well respected, people'd love it..

Just cause it's Paris.. :/

Of course she is nice with the paparazzi. They are the reason she is famous in the first place. Plus, she isn't that stupid to be mean when there's cameras around (and even if she was, they would cut the part before releasing the making-of).

We're talking about US, not Japan. Drink-driving arrest don't affect sales. And 100k is a huge flop. Even if she sells 500k, the album will still be a flop.

Her album flopped in Japan, too. That surprised me.

Yes, because Jesse McCartney is such a respected artist. At least Paris had some top-notch producers.

explodingbird 19th September 2006 09:19 AM

I dunno. I can't stand Paris. She just irks the hell out of me.

The album sucked - there's some good production here and there, but if it were done by a better singer... yes, I'd love it. Paris's voice is horrible. I'd still hate it if it were done by someone else whose voice is annoying, though.

So you're saying that Kelis' Tasty flopped, Nelly Furtado's Folklore flopped, Britney's Greatest Hits flopped, etc etc? Unfortunately, not every album sells one million, not even the weekly #1's are guaranteed one million. 500,000 is already considered great. And Paris is a debut artist, so 100,000 is excellent.

Paris is selling pretty steady given her status and public perception.

Truth.

I don't get the why people keep on rambling about the imperfections in her voice. She's not making mistakes like American Idol contestants. Plus her voice isn't high pitched or screechy like Ayu during her debut. It's just there, nothing to it. The instrumentals wouldn't sound better.

We can't compare Paris Hilton with Kelis, for example, because Paris Hilton album had a much bigger promotion and hype than "Tasty". Britney Spears album was a Greatest Hits. And Nelly Furtado's Folklore was a huge flop in the US and Nelly Furtado wasn't dropped by her label thanks to the good sales in Europe.

spacelion 20th September 2006 12:14 AM

Isn't that basically what Paris is? Okay, minus the "well respected" part. The only reason the album sold 100,000+ records is BECAUSE of Paris Hilton's name. If I had put out this record, you wouldn't have even heard it. And for damn good reason :D .
And if Beyonce or Mariah, or Christina, or Gwen had put out a craptastic album like this.......that would never happen.

Disagreed, Tasty had the mega-hit single "Milkshake". Paris only had a moderately successful "Stars Are Blind".

You guys sound jealous of her album and the chance she got to start a music career. Not pointing at anyone in particular.

AUGH. NOT THE JEALOUSY DEFENSE. Always the freaking jealousy defense. That defense is so damn dumb. We always have to be jealous (of Paris Hilton? For what, being rich? That'd kind of contradict some other things there). We can't just hate someone for legitimate reasons. No, we. Have. To. Be. Jealous.

Personally, it irks me that she got signed when she doesn't seem to really care about having a career in music. For her, it's something to do when she's bored and another source of income. I know it's stupid of me to say that I know someone I don't know better than they do, but she doesn't seem to have a passion for music.

Having a passion for music is a reason to make it. She doesn't need the money. She doesn't care. Plus her singing is horrid (I know, I know, "she doesn't sound bad." I'd like to introduce you to the wonders of studio enhancement, able to mask and correct everything but a wafer-thin voice). The production should've been given to more deserving people. I'd say singers, but that'd mean including her as one.

The jealousy defense hurts as much as listening to people critic the music you like, doesn't it?

She isn't that rich by the way. She needs the money at the rate she splurges, the Onassis people are way richer than her. It doesn't matter if she has the passion or not since her producers obviously do. The music sounds amazing. I don't believe a single bit that Paris crafted those tunes or even lent a single finger in the proceedings.

Thank god for studio enhancements, all artists should use them. Why let flaws remain in your album if you're making a dance record? She ain't no Jewel. Paris has a personality that is very rare and it's probably helping her singing skills. You can just imagine her spoilt demeanour as she coos her way through the album. So extra points on mood and atmosphere too.

If this was Aly & AJ or any other crap Disney artistes, the album would have sold 9825792857982 copies and everyone will be drooling over it.

Kacper87 20th September 2006 10:46 PM

One of the reviews in my country sums this album up perfectly- Paris earns money by giving her name to various products. It could've been a new chocolate bar, it could've been a cd. Nothing more to it:P

Yes, but Paris Hilton had the huge media-hype and the big and expensive promotion. If "Milkshake" was a mega-hit single, it was because people liked it (different from "Stars Are Blind").

Her album is considered a flop. Too bad if you like her and she has lots of achievements in her "carreer", but her album wasn't one of them.

turn it up is the best song. then again i have a excuse 4 liking it, it was produced by scott storch.

ruixiong89 24th September 2006 05:20 PM

Mmm ... I saw the video for Nothing in this World too, I think it's weirdsy and quirky but it has a message. "Stars are Blind" isn't that bad a song, but then yup, I do have to admit the music video is kind of weirdsy too. Jealousy though, is repetitive ... and has really BAD lyrics about her and Nicole?

Overall, I don't think the album is that bad, it's rather good surprisingly coming from Paris. But yup, that image of her has got to go. Though seriously I doubt she's like that in real life. It's a media image.

I don't dispute this, it's just that this is a Paris Hilton thread so I thought I'd comment on her. (-'-)

And on the video posted on this page about her being president. Not even the technological devices altering her voice can hide the fact that she can't sing. It sounds terrible. I thought at least it would sound decent with all of the alterations but it just sounds atrocious. Argh.

Kingdom 2nd November 2008 10:14 AM

imo i seriously don't think she sounds that terrible! i know she's not a great singer but there are way worse singers out there in the mainstream, i think her voice is somewhat cute.

i love how she's making fun of herself with this PARIS 4 PREZ act, that's one thing i admire about her. you would never see mariah or some of the U.S. divas poking fun at themselves

emi♡ 2nd November 2008 12:55 PM

To me it just sounds more like...melodic talking than singing:laugh

It's not like she could ever actually belt out a powerful ballad or anything. But I think everyone knows that, including her, and I don't think she will ever even try.

(at least I hope she hasn't and won't ever...)

SURREAL__RAINBOW 24th February 2012 09:04 AM

lol the style is very "Erotica" (a Madonna song), but the lyrics are ********

PoetGirl 24th February 2012 09:11 AM

wow, amazing, love her

Chibi-Chan 24th February 2012 10:40 AM

Since the video is removed on youtube, here you can also watch it: http://www.promicabana.de/paris-hilt...xt-musikvideo/

Honestly, I don't know what to say, this so terrible I don't have any words to describe it. Before I ever have to watch this again I will rather watch "One night in Paris". Both is absoluetly traumatising.

SURREAL__RAINBOW 24th February 2012 10:56 AM

What is it that make you all so... disgusted about it? I think it's hilarious

tokyoxjapanxfan 24th February 2012 11:13 AM

Bahaha the lyrics are so funny! I highly doubt she's trying to be serious.

It's all satirical to me lol.

She's actually pretty smart. She's made (her own) millions on playing stupid. Wish I could've done that. :P

SURREAL__RAINBOW 24th February 2012 11:18 AM

Same LOL she's bringing the rich dumb blond back again!

Chibi-Chan 24th February 2012 11:30 AM

I don't think she is smart by playing stupid. I think she plays stupid by being stupid.

TITANIC 24th February 2012 12:39 PM

I still like drunk text more than a stupidest song Stupid Hoe by Minaj even though both are the same stupid

PoetGirl 24th February 2012 02:33 PM

well, with Paris its the charm, others look retarded playing 'stupid'

YUKARI 24th February 2012 04:26 PM

I would agree if she wasn't making millions and millions xD

^What isn't really that difficult if you are one of the heirs of Hilton. Her parents have enough money to start her career by paying the right people that the talentless Paris can start modeling and acting. And of course she could easily attend every important event of the high society. The only thing she now had to do was being provocative. And for sure Paris doesn't came up with all the things she had done by herself, for clever PR she has clever PR advisors.

Oh God, No! This isn't even a song, a four year old could speak with background music and babble on about nothing.

Well, yeah, but even for a millionaire, it's hard to make more money without smarts and some business talent, actually, it's rather easy to loose all your money with the wrong administration aproach (lotery winners, for example, tend to spend everything they gained in +- 2 years, and then, are back to where they began).

After all the scandles Paris was in, she is not receiving money from her family for a while, and will not inherint anything... So, even if her music career is pretty crappy, her modeling career is pretty crappy and her movies career is pretty crappy, it's pretty impressive that she still is making millions based on her own efoorts^^

BTW... even if her movies career is crappy, she is AMAZING in Repo! The Genetic Opera... The movie in itself is already awesome, and Paris really shines on her psycho rich b**** role^^
