^I think it has something to do with how the UWC counts the sales of the week or something like that.

^Thank you! It'll do. I hope that their recent popularity will show proof that can sing on this mp3 of their live.

btw MISIA has never really promoted. she doesn't do many interviews and stuff, never has. and I don't think she has ever pandered to any label, since she actually has changed her record label twice already. BGM -> Rhythmedia Tribe (Avex associate) -> BGM |
Kobukuro took the #1 in the daily chart while Ayu is still at #3.
ALBUMS #1: Kobukuro (5296) -> 8,987 + 8,222 + 7,738 + 7,737 (x1.7) = 55,563 #2: Ayumi Hamasaki (GUILTY) -> 9,238 + 8,076 + 5,930 + 4,646 (x1.7) = 47,413 #3: MISIA (EIGHTH WORLD) -> 10,026 + 9,013 + 5,714 (x1.7) = 42,080 |
Upsetting. -_-
|
I think the sales of GUILTY will rise again.
|
i don't know but i realli hope it will land on the top spot...everyone's sales will rise durng the weekends and i really hope the increase will be significant enough for ayu to top the chart
|
Oh well. At least she'll have a #2 for two weeks.
|
From Oricon Daily Chart :
1/10 1st) Kobukuro - 7737 copies 2nd) Misia - 5714 copies 3rd) ayumi - 4646 copies Man Kobukuro are unstoppable , it's scary :S |
kobukuro will be #1 for another week
GUILTY most likely will be #2... |
finnaly,.. guilty cant reach #1 forever...
T___T |
What if Kobukuro and Ayu stay at #1 and #2 for the rest of the month! :o
Just kidding. :D |
Sounds like kobukuro are going to top the chart for 4 straight week just like their best album...
|
Quote:
wah I think they're setting some sorta record ? considering the fact that the CD sales in Japan are declining badly every year , for Kobukuro to go against the odds , it's a rarity . |
^this is certainly a record i think, not much album top the chart for 4 weeks, let alone have 2 freaking records to remain at the top spot for 4 consecutive weeks! ayu onli have 1, which is Duty (ASFXX top the chart for 4 non-consecutive weeks, wasted...)
|
next week i dun think kobukuro can stay at #1 again..
darswordz : kumi top the chart for 4 consecutive weeks too for black cherry :D |
Quote:
My god , everyone's scared by Kobukuro's success now lol but seriously they're good . I gave a listen to their music , no wonder they're worth the hype . |
Quote:
but i really think ayu will end p at #2 this week again and kobukuro at #1. Misia isn't that much of a threat because her recent release does not have much staying power :P Quote:
|
i think no choice for ayu can surpass kobukuro again..
her decrease indicator very big.. |
A Song for XX - 5 Weeks #1
LOVEppears - 3 consecutive weeks #1 Duty - 4 consecutive weeks #1 RAINBOW - 3 consecutive weeks #1. |
ayumisrael : is that only ayu and hikki can top the chart for more than 4 weeks??
i juz know for female ayu behind hikki that have 8 consecutive weeks #1 |
Quote:
First Love is the most with 6 weeks and it's the best selling japanese album overall so it's not surprising XD. |
UPPSss.
sorry.. i mean 6 week at #1.. i want to ask after hikki and ayu do you know who else top the chart for more than 3 weeks?? |
Quote:
Maybe someone else here knows? |
As was mentioned, Kumi's Black Cherry was #1 for 4 weeks.
Anyway, if I were to be completely honest, I'd rather have a chart trajectory that goes 1-3-9-16-538, than 2-2-[etc]. :( |
The most recent 5 female studio albums to have the "4 or more consecutive weeks at #1" title
2007: Koda Kumi - "Black Cherry" (4 weeks) 2000: Hamasaki Ayumi - "Duty" (4 weeks) 1997: Ohguro Maki - "POWER OF DREAMS" (4 weeks) 1990-1991: Princess Princess - "Princess Princess" (5 weeks) 1988: Watanabe Misato - "ribbon" (4 weeks) http://www.oricon.co.jp/news/rankmusic/41238/ Also, Hikki's SINGLE COLLECTION went 4 consecutive weeks at #1 in 2004. |
sigh..kobukuro will get number one position again...MIRACLE PLEASE COME!!!
|
Quote:
Do you have the most recent consecutive female singles list? |
I'd be happy enough to know that Ayu stayed #2 for the 3rd week.
If the first week was counted, it would have been #1 > #2 > #2... which is not bad at all. As always, Ayu's sales aren't steady. Going from 8000 to 5000. "Secret" sold 50,293 copies on it's 3rd week. "GUILTY" can beat that. :yes |
i think this album is probably more sturdy in the japanese music industry. it just seems that more people would like it...it's more like her pre-(m)u stuff

I never listen to Kobukuro.. but I have their recent album..
btw Cloud_Honey, I love your avatar and signature!! |
i listen 4-5 songs of kobukuro (winding road too) and i hate this music...
|
I downloaded their album to give them a try...and the album's pretty good. I love Kazamidori...can't stop listening to it. I've been going back and forth with GUILTY tracks and this song...lol
Hopefully the sales will increase or else she might not sell over 500k by this week. |
Kimi to Iu Nano Tsubasa and Suinen no Chou are my favorites <333333333
|
^It's not that I hate them or dislike them but I'm afraid that....that if I listen to them....I MIGHT FALL IN LUV WITH THEM! :eyes
|
I don't know if you'll like them Shannee coz they are folk, not pop.
|
I listened to 5296 last night fully and i have to say it is good lol...
Now must try ALL SINGLES BEST :X!!!! i think i'm gonna love them too... BUT i still wish ayu got #1 XD! |
KuroixShiroi_Namida: freedreamer requested it in the Requests center, and somebody uploaded the first CD to him (and I uploaded the second). Now you can try them :P Tomorrow I'll post EXILE LOVE album, my friend ripped it to me and I think she will scan it too.
|
Quote:
Okay, I'm differently NOT listening to them. Thankies for the heads up, Cloud! :laugh |
OMG LISTEN TO THEM NOW! :grumpy
|
I think GUILTY is out of the running now. It's been holding steady at #3 on the daily charts (with the exception of one day when it was #1), and Kobukuro has been at #2 and was #1 on Thursday. Even if things turn around and GUILTY starts selling more than 5296, I think it's just too late in the week. :(
|
Maybe we could pay Oricon to add on 5k everyday, AHS combined. I still don't see why Ayu didn't release it this week, it's the same everytime for the first week of the year, extremely low sales. Just look at last year, the #1 only sold 29K and this year AAA are at #1. o___o' Does Ayu have something against January-August for albums?
(Excluding 01.01) |
^I think that it's good she's not #1, it takes all that pressure away to keep her streaks up. The album is selling way better than I thought it would, it would've been #1 almost any other week, so who kurrs?
|
Quote:
|
brrrr.. guud
i have d feeling #1 bzzt.. japan people must buy it more! i hope 1:3 peoples have it Xd XD good |
Quote:
|
Maybe Avex did released it at a bad time on purpose to lose her #1 streak. Maybe she didn't want the pressure anymore so she asked them to do it. :P (I'm only half serious, guys. Don't take me too seriously :P)
|
I dream that there is a rich man to buy 20K+ copies this week, then Ayu will be #1.......... :)
|
Quote:
|
^i hope that man will be avex... :(
|
I am still devastated, especially at the start of her 10th year but maybe this could mean less pressure as everyone is saying and possibly... MORE CREA!!
|
CREA!! Maybe this was part of avex's plan...
|
Quote:
They're more towards folk & rock & their music's definitely something not for everyone but if you like their kinda music , you will bound to love them . Tsubomi's fab for starters , it deserves to be their 1st no.1 single somemore Quote:
|
From Oricon daily chart :
11th Jan 1) Kobukuro - 6355 copies 2) Misia - 3835 copies 3) ayumi - 3293 copies |
By far weekly:
#1 5296 - 8,987 + 8,222 + 7,738 + 7,737 + 6355 (x1.7) = 66,366 #2 GUILTY - 9,238 + 8,076 + 5,930 + 4,646 + 3293 (x1.7) = 53,811 #3 EIGHT WORLD - 10,026 + 9,013 + 5,714 + 3835 (x1.7) = 48,600 |

Look at Muse , all the singles that they have released since the beginning of their career have never hit the top spot in UK & not to mention , only 2 outta the 4 records that they have released so far only hit the top spot in the UK album chart but yet I consider them to be 1 of the greatest bands in the world to me that's so yup . |
Quote:
|
sigh...looks like she can't get number one position for this week...
hopefully this week sales can end up at 75k... |
on the bright side, if she wasn't battling against kankuboro, she would've had 3 weeks at #1! =)
|
come on ayu! you can do it! ^-^
|
How come avex didnt check the rival list on that week before releasing GUILTY...-.-" if they set the release date on the 2nd week of january, it would be much better for AYU..
|
Ayu didn't enter top 3 today... She's #4
12/1/08 #1. 5296 指数 13172 #2. EIGHTH WORLD MISIA 5992 #3. EXILE LOVE EXILE 5628 |
Kobukuro's sales are insane! Wouldn't surprise me even if they got #1 next week too... I haven't followed it much but MISIA got rather close to Ayu right?
|
and at number 5 all single best...
if asb will surpass guilty tomorrow it'd be incredible |
kobukuro sales is insane!!! hopefully guilty still enter the top 10 album of this year...
|
It'll be so sad, for me, that is, if GUILTY doesn't get into the yearly top 10. But, then again, times are changing, so..
|
Kobukuro is back with 5 digits numbers! They are still selling so well. I'm not surprised because their album is really good. Plus, unlike Ayu, their music attracts not only both gender, but also older and younger people.
I'm guessing Ayu's sales are around 5000 or 4000 today Her #2 position is still secured I think. |
Quote:
|
my GOD..
kobukuro comeback reach 10K.. and ayu fall into 4th.. T__T |
At least ayu will have another week on the top 2/3 ^_^
|
i think guilty will be in top 10 yearly. 600k are enough
|
its quite hard to reach until 600K..
now 3rd week estimate it can reach 500K.. until 600K its hard :D but we must optimist ^_^ |

With EXILE, Kobukuro, DCT and BOC already ahead of Ayumi and with Kumi and Hikki coming... D: Who knows what ayaka might pull off and if aiko releases a BEST album for her 10th anniversary... We'll just have to wait and see.
|
I think the 3rd week total will be around 70k, so GUILTY will pass 500k this week. By comparison Secret sold 50k in its third week for a 544k total. Get that smash consistency girl!
|
2008.01.13
GUILTY -- #3 ---- 6,740 |
Quote:
13/1 1) Kobukuro - 15,446 Copies 2) EXILE - 7,369 Copies 3) ayumi - 6,740 Copies |
guilty get #2 for this week..
T___T very sad |
Quote:
At least this week's sales for GUILTY doesn't plumment so much from the 1st-2nd week sales for GUILTY which's something normally happens to ayumi's sales for her previous albums . Can see that GUILTY's still putting out a rather strong fight against 5296 . |
Very good! Ayu's sales went up! She'll definitely be #2.
|
Yay.
I think ayu didn't remain in the same spot on the top 3 for a long time and 2 weeks on #2 it's definitly better than 1 and then 8 or something. The weekly top 3 are: #1 kobukuro #2 ayu #3 MISIA #4 EXILE |
hope this week guilty sell more than 80K...
|
looks like this album has more longevity than secret...hopefully it can sell 700k in the end...
|
I'm so glad Ayu manage to get in e top 3 spots again today.. weekend sales are definitely better..=) Hopefully GUILTY will stay consistent on e chart and hopefully sell over 700,000copies in e end..
|

Hopefully GUILTY can sell over 750,000.

It's a cycle. Right now boybands sell like crazy. A few years later everything will be shifted again.
|
How many years exactly? >_> The Japanese need to make up their minds as to who they want to be on top. XD Solo female artists or boybands?!
I think Guilty will be just below the Top 10 spots. Album sells are really looking good this year....but she didn't debut higher than what I would have liked her to debut. |
well, our expectations can't always be met.
I really liked this album. It actually flowed... |
