I gotta admit that I'm over my initial shock of the single, after building up my secret hype of "OMG poker face REMIX and 3 new a-sides for her anniversary!!", I'm looking very much forward to the new single. ^_^/ I'm guessing that since Mirrorcle (lol wtf) World is the main song and it is rock, that Life will be a Replace meets JEWEL kind of song. A hopeful ballad! Like untitled ~for her~, but different. :love

I suppose that's true; I hadn't really thought about that. But even having said that, she has obviously performed, re-recorded, remastered, and remixed it many, many other times since her grandmother passed away. And while the lyrics do represent a rather weak side to Ayu, it's hardly her most self-hating or depressing song. If it's unhappy memories that kept her from re-recording poker face for this single, she must have some other negative emotional association to it than her grandmother's death. I suppose it could be about someone she doesn't want to sing about anymore.

I think this might be her most-anticipated single of the year - and it all happens on her 10th anniversary! All we have to wait for is for about a month to the release date (and for me, just do my WASL in school)...

YesAsia just sucks compared to CDJapan. Plus YesAsia isn't even based in Japan so it wouldn't get any of this stuff as quick as CDJapan would.

Some of you guys are overreacting.

First off:
GUILTY's sales weren't that low. If she was selling in the 300k/400k total range that'd still be good.. I mean, look at how many acts are hitting a million nowadays... like 3 at the most. o_o

And second:
4/8 and 4/9 is the best day to release this single as there is no competition that day/week. The week before there is L'arc en Ciel and after that there's a bunch of JE people releasing.

She will be getting an extra day on the Oricon charts, just like how GUILTY was released on 12/25 and got a few extra days.


I think that some of the general reaction for this single not being "big" enough for her 10th anniversary is very... dumb. Seeing as how she has so much going on in this month, I think that she's doing this and EVEN MORE for her 10th anniversary, which is saying a lot. She's been working to celebrate this anniversary since November of last year, which makes it for a total of 4+ months on this 10th anniversary [and more to come with the extensive ASIA TOUR 2008 that has an enormous Japanese leg and a to be announced Asian leg of the tour PLUS a-nation this year D:!!!]..

She's the busiest she's been since around 2002/2003. She's got so many releases coming out in such a short amount of time, it's crazy. To recap:
3/12: AT07
3/26: ayu-mi-x 6 GOLD and SILVER
4/8: Mirrorcle World
4/9: Remix analogs times 10

All in the span of less than a month. INSANE~

All four versions are up at HMV for pre-order...and none are sold out!! =D

And truehappiness, I don't think anyone's complaining about how low the sales will be...sales will obviously be big for this - there's four versions of the single, it will include new AND old songs, and it will be released EXACTLY on her 10th anniversary. (And like you said, there's no competition for at least the first week.) I'm pretty sure people are slightly upset that it's sold out at CDJapan.

Oh yays! It's coming out on AyUta's b-day xD! Can't wait! But grawr! That's a long time from now >.<;...

But didn't Guilty hit #2 because it was released early like that?

I'm wondering if this will be #1 on the weekly, but I'm sure it'll be at least on the daily chart at #1. Guilty fell to #2, first studio album not to hit #1 in her avex career. Is it a sign against the success of this single?

Some of the songs that are most important to ayu don't have PVs. Like Memorial Address and ~untitled~ for her. Same goes for her album title songs.

GUILTY hit #2 because of the 2 week long New Year's Oricon week.

She was #1 in the first week if you were informed [by a small margin]~

And Kobukuro's incredible consistency led them to be no.1 for many weeks to come [and stay in the top 5 for weeks afterward]~

I don't blame Ayu for this, as I blame Kobukuro's insane fans. It's definitely NOT Ayu's fault for "selling so low" or "losing the #1". It seems that some of you don't know what happened in the first two weeks of January and just kinda fill in the story with "Oh, Ayu failed because she wasn't good enough" :|

GUILTY not hitting the #1 was bad predicting on avex's part. If GUILTY was released on 1/9 or something, it'd have been just fine. But they underestimated KOBUKURO's strength. :|

Hmm, the usual Panasonic / music.jp tie-ups yet again.. I'm actually surprised they didn't give her any new/stronger tie-up's, especially with Koda Kumi on a hiatus of sorts.

I'm VERY excited for 'Depend on you'. However, I'm worried for 'YOU'. There's a lot of room for overdone vibrato, I hope she doesn't get too carried away.

..and I think 'Life' not having a PV is a very good sign for the song, actually. [just look at all the H songs - no PV's] Some songs are just better off without PV's.

I can't imagine her performing Mirrorcle World on TV though... I wonder if she might use the rerecordings or 'Life' instead? Overkill with the 4 versions, by the way.

Either way, I'm looking forward to a good single, and the news of a Depend on you remake will brighten the day of someone who needs it~ ^^

GUILTY was released early, yes, but it hit #2 because of the variable of Kobukuro which I think NO ONE expected.

Mirrorcle World releasing a day early can only help it, unless there's some smash hit single that sells 100k++ 2nd/3rd week..

Or someone decides to release and hasn't announced it yet, is that possible? I don't know as much as I'd like about the music industry... ^^;;



I want one of those weird PVs for Mirrorcle World. Something that makes us look deep for a meaning, like alterna and Ladies Night. Those kinds of PVs are her best in my opinion~

I'm happy that LIFE won't get a PV. Some of her strongest and most popular songs don't have a PV (see the A and H single). And a PV might ruin a good song.

Poker Face is appropriate, but I dunno, often a singer's debut song is not the strongest (exceptions aside) and I guess the whole Melody and arrangement of Poker face might not play well with the market (like IMO it doesn't have the same "timeless" feeling that YOU has or something).

Well then just hope they do add more to their queue :tired. I personally didn't want to lose my chances of getting them :luv2

I don't think anybody was able to purchase any of the dvd versions. If it was sold out to the point of out of print, both versions should be up on the daily sales chart...but none are there. Also the dvd case is first press and it didn't say anywhere that the dvd versions are limited editions.

I think the reason why poker face was released was because Ayu dislikes the song. Ayu was recording poker face when her grandmother passed away. In fact, her grandmother was in her deathbed and Ayu said she would visit her tomorrow as soon as the recording was done. She found out her grandmother's passing in the recording studio the next day. :( Because of that, she rarely, if ever, performs poker face. She did sing 'poker face' on A Museum, but it was just a melody so it wasn't the whole song.

I've never purchased from them either, this was my first time :headache. I do prefer CDJapan because they have the point system and my items always arrive perfectly and fast. But I honestly wouldn't know what to say about HMV. The thing about HMV is that they have one set price for shipping which I didn't like, in CDJapan you actually get options.

I just posted the links because I figured some people were trying to get the singles, and I wanted to let them know they could find them on HMV, just doing my part...

I like HMV because it only takes a four days to get to where I live. (I usually always receive my CD's by the following Saturday or Monday.) It's a lot cheaper to get it quicker with HMV than it is CDJapan, imo.

I still dunno where I'm ordering my CD's from, though. >___< I honestly don't have the money to buy them at the moment... (I'll probably pre-order one sometime this week since it'll be my birthday and I'll be getting a lot of money from that and work I'm doing for my Dad's job. ^^)

I need to agree with truehappiness in the beginning, it's gonan kill me if I buy everything. PLUS I'm buying the 2CD+2DVD box set for AAA, so I'm gonna be DEAD broke by May.
