A Japanese album this year would actually be ridiculous imo.

She should stick to her singles.

I'm expecting this new single (the one she mentioned on her blog that is apparently going to be the theme for the movie) to come out in June as well.

It'd be great if she did a tour after that, maybe in July and August. I'm hoping for something like Utada United 2006, except with a Japan leg of the tour and an American leg. For the Japan leg she could do HEART STATION + This Is The One and for the American she could do This Is The One + a few songs from Exodus.

Regardless of whether she tours or not, I think there is a chance we'll get one more Japanese single before the year's end and definitely one or two more singles from TITO.

I think she's really just getting back into full gear since the Exodus hiatus. I don't think her releases are going to be as few and far between as they have been since 2003, but I'm definitely not expecting her to start releasing as fequently as most artists.

I think there will be a new Japanese album next year for sure. Probably in the late spring or early summer. And if all goes well with TITO, I think we'll be seeing another English album with in a two year time frame as well. It's far too early to project anything for sure though.

"9 year old memories" is the re-release of a couple old U3 songs in form of a single in August. There is nothing new about it and it's not even on EMI.

In late June, the new Eva movie comes out, and Hikki is once again singing the theme song. So there will be a new single (the one she's mentioned on her blog) coming out around then.

Just got my copy of TITO at borders. They had like 3 copies. First spot I hit (had to get books for summer HW). No running around like I did for the BoA album. Though each of the books cost $15 though...kinda ruined my day x_x

OMG. COLORS is AMAZING. I can't believe I never listened to the song before. This is currently my favorite songs off of ULTRA BLUE.

And Wait & See ~Risuku~ that's my favorite song from DISTANCE at the moment. I never knew Hikki had such amazing songs. I only listened to HEART STATION. Now I see what I was missing.

I actually didn't like that version so much but I understand why she did it. But no, that version was never released.

But yeah, you guys up above definitely need to go back and listen to some older Utada stuff. It's great. One in particular that comes to mind that I like is "Sunglasses". I'll go see if I can find the youtube video of Utada singing it live in studio.

i remember when i first heard colors waaaay back when. it was from a FFX-2 MV :laugh i was really into that game back then :P it's been one of my favorite hikki songs ever since.

^that game was absolutely amazing!!! so was the original...those are arguably the best 2 FF games that have come out.

@njan: I actually don't mind Be My Last...but I prefer her tv lives of it to nearly all the other versions...there was one that was just amazing. and yeah, YMMWTBAM at UU was awesome. I wouldn't really like the song other wise...but that performance is great.

I don't know if she literally said that, but I do remember she has a 2-album contract at Island Def Jam, so from what I understood she kinda had to make this album.

I'm not sure of I remember correctly though, it's been a while.

She said it in one of the interviews she did...I think it was the one where we were giving her crap about being crabby :laugh

they asked her if she was going to do another album...and she said she didn't think so.

@keiichi: thats interesting...because she kept going on about her pop album...I guess that's what she wanted to do with her second overseas album.

I definitely don't recollect Utada ever saying she didn't think or was sure she wasn't going to make another English album, and I follow her more closely than Ayu.

Her contract with IDJ was however, for two albums, so she'd have to renew the contract before she could make another album with them. I don't see why she wouldn't do that.

If TITO recieves moderate success, I think we'll definitely see another English album; and in much less than five years (the gap between Exodus and TITO) at that.

I actually found her album in my local Barnes and Noble on a big display the friday after the album was released. I was so happy that I snatched it up immediately, and almost cried when I saw Sanctuary as a track!

sanctuary has never had a proper release. There is no american version of the KH2 soundtrack. It was probably a rip from the opening of the game.
