9 Sai no Omoide is a re-cut single from when Hikki was with U3 (A group with her parents) Both songs from the single are on their album STAR.

Beautiful World ~PLANTIb Acoustic Mix~ is the song for the new Evangelion movie which she was doing a song for anyway.

The 9 Sai no Omoide single is being released in late August.

I hope her next single is upbeat....but I'm ok with another ballad any day. Another FoL would definitely put her back in the recent memory of her fans. :D

In Japan, yeah. But in the US she can't do that. Especially with the follow up singles.

Is she really loaded? She did have a divorce. I'm not sure how Japan deals with divorce and alimony, but she did make more than him. In the US, that would mean she would have to pay alimony to keep him in the style he's become accustomed to.

Well, not really... if the single sells a lot, it makes a lot of money (but you have to pay the costs of production of the cd). When it's released digitally, If a lot of people buy, you make a lot of money... but if only a little people buy it, you don't lose as much as you would with physical copies

There seems to be so many "new" songs announced (9 Sai no Omoide, BW remix & Sanctuary digital release) yet no new material.

They might have had a pre-nuptial/financial agreement. It would have been smart to make one after her first album, she would have already been rich just from that first part of her career.

I doubt she would have married him with making him sign a pre-nup, no matter if they were in love x infinity. She's a smart person so I think she would have done something to protect her money. Even if there is an agreement to pay him a little bit if they divorced.

^I don't think it was EMI who said they weren't going to do the song I think it was Utada's dad who didn't want her to do the song because Disney didn't pay them well enough. I read it in some interview, can't remember which one though. Sorry ;)

Well.. the only album that showing more than her head is Exodus (US version). All other albums (excluding UH single collection, which doesn't have her face at all) only show her face. Before I felt it was boring, but now it's kinda like one of her signatures. I hope they will just show her face again on the next JPN album :D.

Ok, personally, I have some doubts. I mean...the Utadanet user who posted the info only referred to the info as coming from "sources." She just knows her audience. Besides, her fans in Japan are used to seeing her a certain way, and are also used to her making certain music.

I think that in addition to making music for herself, she makes it for her fans as well...sometimes maybe more than we think.
