all Kanjani8 members will make an appearance on Arashi’s popular variety show, “Himitsu no Arashi-chan“. The cameo will be made in the “Mannequin Five” corner, and fan girls haven’t been able to stop talking about it since the announcement.

Well good news, because the day of the episode has just recently been released, and the dream episode for all the rabid fan girls will take place on October 28th!

One of the Kanjani8 members, Yokoyama Yu, said on his radio show, ”You can see a lot of things happening, and a lot of our facial expressions.”

Japan’s tallest moving Christmas tree, Santa Claus, reindeer, and revealing they would be the first music artist to release two anime theme songs simultaneously were surprises delighting 55,000 Kanjani8 fans at their Tokyo Dome concert on December 19, reports Sankei Sports, Nikkan Sports, Chunichi Sports, Daily Sports Online, and Movie Walker.

Fans at the Sunday concert were treated to a sight of the 26 metre tall Christmas tree and all seven Kanjani8 members dressed in Christmas outfits including Tadayoshi Okura (25) as Santa Claus and Ryo Nishikido (26) as a reindeer.

“We wanted to do something Christmas-y,” said Yu Yokoyama (29).

The group also revealed they would be singing the theme song to popular TV anime “クレヨンしんちゃん (Crayon Shin-chan)” and the anime’s upcoming movie “クレヨンしんちゃん 嵐を呼ぶ 黄金のスパイ大作戦 (Crayon Shin-chan Arashi wo Yobu Ougon no Spy Daisakusen)”. It is the first time a music artist has been responsible for singing the theme song to an anime TV show and movie at the same time. It is also the first movie theme song for the group.

“I’m really happy. Our song’s going to played on those huge movie screens,” said Shota Yasuda (26)

Although it may seem odd Kanjani8, whose members are all from Japan’s Kansai region, be placed in charge of an anime which is set in Kanto region’s Saitama prefecture, but the show’s organisers have said they had been waiting for a chance to collaborate with Kanjani8 for almost two years.

“(Kanjani8) are a group who can both be funny and cool. They fit the ‘Crayon Shin-chan’ world image perfectly,” said one of the anime’s producers.

It has been reported the group’s members were happy to take on their new project, with Yokoyama encouraging group member Subaru Shibutani (29) to do his best Crayon Shin-chan impersonation on stage.

“Ohh, オラのはらしんのすけ〜 (Ora Nohara Shinnosuke, I’m Nohara Shinnosuke).”

Even a usually cool Nishikido had a go.

“Ohh…I can’t do it,” he said before clinging onto Yasuda’s shoulder.

But as Nishikido noticed a sneaky smile on Yokoyama’s face, he was quick to involve his fellow group member.

“That’s unfair Yokoyama-kun! Let me see you try it!,” Nishikido said, which lead Yokoyama to try and fail his impersonation in front of 55,000 fans.

Kanjani8′s songs will go on air on the Crayon Shin-chan anime show from February 2011, while the Crayon Shin-chan movie is set to be released on April 16.

she had a great time & she said Maruyama impersonated Watenabe the battlefield cameraman during the MC & that Maruyama did a much better job than what DAIGO did lmao

but anyway yeah I can understand why the producers said that about Eito . Given their fun personality , it's not very surprising why they have been picked to sing/promote Shin Chan xD

During Arashi songs and Seishun Amigo (and anymore?), Eito danced in the sushi customes~ Omg, Seishun Amigo O.O Watching Sushi dancing to that song..

Yoko said that Arashi was cool a few times while watching their performance.

During Sushi Kui nee!, three sushi laid on the floor and Yoko pretended to pour soy sauce on them XD

After the song finished performing, two of the sushi wasn't able to get up!! Had people to help them. Rofl!!

They carried a big plate of sushi and ate a piece. Sushi eating sushi..

When they left to change outfits, everyone left except for Yoko. Yoko kept pouring soy sauce XD Lastly, he bent over too much that the top costume came off.

Kanjani8 performs new song “T. W. L.” on their countdown live

Kanjani 8 held a countdown live for the second year in a row at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka on December 31st, and they performed a new song, titled “T. W. L.“, which will be released in the spring. The song will be used as new theme song for ongoing anime, “Crayon Shin-chan“, starting on the broadcast in Feburary.

According to Daily Sports, the recording for the new song was just finished 4 days ago, so it was like making an impromptu performance for the members. However, they seemed to enjoy the song a lot, as member Nishikido Ryo said that he feels good singing the song. Kanjani8 performed a total of 27 songs and captivated the audience of 45,000.

Kanjani8 member Yokoyama Yu made an appearance on “Telephone Shocking“, one of the corners of the popular show, “Waratte Iitomo!“, on January 10th. Yokoyama’s appearance was appointed by Hey!Say! JUMP members Yamada Ryosuke and Chinen Yuri.

On the show, Yokoyama talked about the new drama, “CONTROL Hanzai Shinri Sousa“, which he stars in, as well as the other Kanjani8 members. He then appointed ‘Sakana-kun‘ as the guest for the next day.

Tamori (T): “Didn’t you hold a solo concert?”
Yokoyama (Y): “Yes, I did.”
(T): “It’s wonderful that you held solo concert. How was it?”
(Y): “It was a lot different from the concert as a group. I would say it was easier.”

(T): “The solo was easier!? You don’t like Kanjani or something?”
(Y): “It’s not that. When we hold the concert as a group, each member has different opinions, saying ‘I don’t like it.’, ‘I don’t like that.’, but for the solo concert, I was able to do everything in my way. So I think it was easier in that way.”
(T): “Right…when you are in the group…”
(Y): “Yes, since we have 7 members in the group…but there are still good part to be in a group, such as no one notices even if I’m being lazy on the stage. People only look at me at solo concert, but for the group concert, I can take a break at the end of the stage while other members are singing.”
(T): “I see. I heard it takes long time to gather members’ opinions together for the concert…talk after talk until the eleventh hour, especially for groups, SMAP is like that too. Kanjani as well?”
(Y): “Yes, we are like that too.”

(T): “Who is the most stubborn member for that kind of things?”
(Y): “Nishikido (Ryo). I know it’s surprising, but he is the stubborn one.”

Kanjani8’s new song titled, “T.W.L” which will be released this spring, will be used as the new theme song for ongoing anime “Crayon Shin-chan.” Today, it was revealed that “T.W.L” will start airing on February 4th, and the song was made by popular duo, Yuzu’s Kitagawa Yujin. This is the first time for Kitagawa to make a song for other artist.

This song is said be a “strong collaboration” due to the parties involved. Kanjani8 will also take the lead in the anime series theatrical movie, “Crayon Shinchan, Arashi wo yobu Ougon no Spy Daisakusen” (scheduled to be released on April 16th).

Arashi top’s track was “Monster”, the theme song to the drama “Kaibutsu-Kun” which stars member Ohno Satoshi. When asked why they chose this song, one fan replied, “I can’t help but love the impact of the song and their cool dancing.” To round off the top three tracks for Arashi, ”Monster” was followed by “truth” and “Troublemaker”.

Other favorites include Ikimonogakari’s hit song “Arigatou”, which earned three times the number of votes as their debut song, “SAKURA”. Tohoshinki’s first song as a two-member unit, “Why? (Keep Your Head Down)”, also ranked highly on the list.

Kanjani8’s Murakami Shingo and Yokoyama Yuu become variety show sub-MCs

Kanjani8 members Murakami Shingo and Yokoyama Yuu have just been confirmed as sub-MCs for a new television program titled, “Hiru Nan Desu!”

“Hiru Nan Desu!” is said to be a variety show that aims to put the “fun” in “noon,” and is generally marketed to men and women between the ages of twenty and forty years old. Activities on the show will include a gourmet cooking showdown, a sport section, the latest fashion and entertainment news, and a quiz-style introduction sequence for a variety of fun things to watch. The program will be hosted by comedian Nanbara Kiyotaka, assisted by Miura Asami, and begins broadcasting on March 28th.

“I feel nervous since it’s a live broadcast, but it’ll be fun,” said Murakami of their new noontime television show appearance. Yokoyama also chipped in, “When I first heard that I was going to be appearing (on the show), I was really shocked. Since (noon) is a timeslot when people of all age groups will be watching, I hope to try my hardest and show (viewers) a new side of us.”

A different sub-MC will appear each day, with Endou Shouzou (Mondays), Watabe Ken (Tuesdays), Tsuruno Takeshi (Wednesdays), and Hisamoto Masami (Fridays), also confirmed for appearances on the show. Murakami and Yokoyama will only appear on the Thursday episodes of “Hiru Nan Desu!”.

“When (Yokoyama) and I went together to the shooting location, I was so happy. I was worried that the studio would be really rough… I wanted to film in a nice and comfortable place (lol),” laughed Murakami, excited for his upcoming role as sub-MC. “Since we’ve been put in charge of Thursdays, I’m going to try the best I can so that when you see Kanjani, you recognize us and say, ‘They’re on every week for half an hour!’”

Kanjani8’s Murakami Shingo & Okura Tadayoshi voice act for “Crayon Shin-chan”

It’s been revealed that Johnny’s idol unit Kanjani8’s Murakami Shingo and Okura Tadayoshi will be making their debut as voice actors in the animated film, “Crayon Shin-chan Arashi wo Yobu Ougon no Spy Daisakusen“. As we reported earlier, Kanjani8 will also be singing the theme song for the film.

In the movie, the main character, Shinnosuke (aka Shin-chan), must protect the future of humanity from an evil scientist by taking back the “capsule of justice”. Murakami and Okura are set to voice the assistants of the villain.

This will be the 19th theatrical release for the “Crayon Shin-chan” franchise, and it’s the first time an animated movie series has used a talent from Johnny & Associates as voice actors. As the two singers are both from Osaka, the characters were changed to incorporate their distinct accents.

Murakami commented, “Being able to participate in an anime I’ve watching for a long time has my heart is pounding.” Adding to that, Okura has stated, “I’m very happy that I can fulfill the dreams of young children with Shin-chan, who is a figure that I grew up with.”

The film will open in theatres on April 16th.

Kanjani8 Leave Messages Regarding The Disaster

As the time passes, we realize how much damage this has caused.

When we think about those affected by the damage, as well as their family and friends… our hearts ache. We’re really concerned.

What is something good to say at a time like this? We just can’t find the right words.

Right now, we’re absolutely praying from the bottom of our hearts that everyone is safe.

We’re doing things now so that everyone can smile and be energetic again.

And because of that we’re going to work with all of our might.

We also have experience with the Great Hanshin Earthquake (1995). During that time, we didn’t give up because there were so many people who were doing their best to help us.

Reborn J-FRIENDS unit has been decided

On the 17th, as a part of the charity activities for the "The Great Northeastern Pacific Ocean Earthquake" that took place on the 11th of the same month, the major company Johnny's Jimusho annouced the formation of reborn "J-FRIENDS".

J-FRIENDS conducted charity activities at the time of the "Hanshin-Awaji Great Earthquake" that happened in 1995.

This time, the members begin with national idols Arashi, and are mainly composed of young talents NEWS, KAT-TUN and so forth.

On the 25th of May, a charity single will be on sale, and lives are scheduled to be performed in Tokyo dome, Osaka dome, and Nagoya dome at the beginning of June.

All the earnings will be donated to the stricken area.

Every Johnny’s talent to take part in relief project

Johnny’s & Associates will launch a new relief project involving every one of their talents to support the victims of the Japan earthquake, it was revealed on March 19, reports Sponichi Annex and Sports Hochi.

It has been reported the project will include a charity CD sale and events.

On March 18, a truck originally intended to transport concert equipment, instead transported everyday needs like disposable baby diapers and disinfectant to affected areas in Iwate prefecture. Johnny’s talents Hideaki Takizawa (28), Tsubasa Imai (29), and Yuma Nakayama (17) helped to load the goods onto the truck.

“Our fans have supported us, now we want to give something back to them,” Imai said.

“If we can help motivate people to do something by doing it ourselves, I think there’s a need for all of us (at Johnny’s) to get together and ask our fans to help out as well,” Takizawa said.

Following the 1995 Kobe earthquake, 13 Johnny’s talents from the Kansai region, or with connections to Kansai had formed “J-FRIENDS” (TOKIO, KinKi Kids, and V6). The special group released CDs and held performances to raise money for earthquake victims.

It has been reported that other talents had said they wanted to help out if another charity group were to be formed, and it is expected that this project will be bigger than ever. The group will even include Johnny’s senior Masahiko Kondo, Shonentai, SMAP, and Arashi.

Johnny’s to perform power-saving concerts from April

Johnny’s talent concerts will resume in April, but only using one-tenth of normal electricity power, reports Asahi Shimbun and Daily Sports Online.

Duo Tackey & Tsubasa and NYC’s Yuma Nakayama had been helping load goods onto a truck bound for earthquake and tsunami victims in northern Japan.

“The entire agency started this, we’ll support them to the end.

“If we work hard enough, we can perform a concert any time. What’s important now is to help those in need,” Takizawa said.

It has been reported a typical Johnny’s concert needs 3000-kilowatts of electricity. Concerts will resume on April 1, but only using a fraction of this power.

“We’ll get through it by putting more of ourselves into it . We’ll take electricity into consideration,” Imai said.

Tokyo is still experiencing power shortages brought about by the Fukushima nuclear power plant disaster and residents and companies are being urged to cut down on unnecessary power use.

Kanjani8’s new CF for “Monster Hunter Portable 3rd” revealed

Four members from Kanjani8, Maruyama Ryuhei, Murakami Shingo, Yokoyama Yu and Shibutani Subaru were chosen as the image characters for a popular PSP game titled “Monster Hunter Portable 3rd.”

Their new commercial (CF) titled “Step Version” began airing on television yesterday. The commercial was also uploaded on CAPCOM’s official website.

Monster Hunter Portable 3rd is the latest installment in the Monster Hunter series for the Playstation Portable system that was released in Japan on December 1, 2010. Check out the CF below.

Nishikido Ryo to make a guest appearance on the last episode of “Bartender”

It’s been announced that Nishikido Ryo (of Kanjani 8/NEWS) will make a guest appearance on the last episode of Aiba Masaki’s drama, “Bartender“, which will be broadcasted on April 1st.

Nishikido’s guest appearance is planned because Nishikido will star in next cours drama ”Inu wo Kau to iukoto ~Sky to Wagaya no 180 nichi~“, which is scheduled to start on April 15th.

Nishikido will play a business man named ‘Hongo Yuji’.

Johnny & Associates announces earthquake relief project, “Marching J”, feat. all talents

Johnny & Associates have announced the creation of an earthquake relief project called “Marching J“, which will feature the participation of all Johnny & Associates talents.

The project was named by president Johnny Kitagawa, and the “J” stands for both ‘Japan’ and ‘Johnny’s’. Mr. Kitagawa says, “I put the meaning of ‘Let’s walk together toward the recovery.”

Although Johnny & Associates housed a relief unit, “J-FRIENDS“, for 1995’s Great Hanshin Earthquake, it was only comprised of TOKIO, KinKi Kids, and V6. This time, however, “Marching J” will involve all the agency’s talents – it’ll mark the first in-house collaborative project since the company’s founding in 1962. Mr. Kitagawa explained, “It was that big of a disaster. We need to get together, and take actions to make our hearts as one.” He also revealed that there were many talents who were willing to do something for the disaster relief.

The first event for “Marching J” will be through a fundraiser, which will be hosted in front of the First Gymnasium at the Yoyogi National Stadium. The event will run from April 1st to the 3rd, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Including Johnny’s Jr. boys (and trainees), there will be over 100 talents participating the event under the slogan, “Use our energy without using electricity“. Talk segments will also be held at the event.

Mr. Kitagawa also stated that the project does not have a set time limit, nor will this be a one-time event. He said, “We will continue to do some kind of activity every month until the end.”
