Blah. It's called gossip.
And some journalists just write poorly.

In the end Lady Gaga is still at the furthest possible distance from her as far as history goes, and gaudy dresses and getups will not bring her any closer. If I'm not mistaken that's just a way of whoring attention to yourself. As a musician, one should really let their music do the talking.
...

That just sounded like a reply from a crazy fan who's so blinded by his love for ayu that he sees nothing else.

Just because you dislike Gaga's image and music doesn't mean you need to insult her like this.

If you really want to judge Gaga, do some research. And then judge her as a musician by herself, instead of "threat to great goddess ayu".

Too many assumptions.

I never said I disliked Gaga's image or music. Unfortunately that's the way you decided to interpret things. I was simply offering my rebuttal to this ridiculous piece of journalism "if it were true".

Hamasaki has been around since the turn of the millennium, so was I in the wrong to say she has a richer history simply by virtue of being around longer? If Lady Gaga is not trying to get a lot of attention, I wonder what her goal is in wearing those impressionable outfits. Perhaps "whoring" was too strong of a word and I apologize for that. In the end, merely stating facts does not make me a crazed Ayu fan or mean I am trying to criticize Lady Gaga, so I'd appreciate it if you don't haphazardly decide things like that. To further corroborate the latter:

Did I not say: "As a musician, one should let their music do the talking"?

dear god, its begun again

Misa-chan 21st April 2010 12:36 PM

To jimex289:

Well, calling Gaga an attention whor-e (I typed it like this cause AHS censors this word, that's how insulting it is) that's seemed more like an effort to insult and criticize her person than the journal article itself.

And I'm not gonna dispute the fact that ayu has a longer history and has done most of the things Gaga did way before her. That much is true. But just because Gaga has a shorter career doesn't warrant an exaggeration like her being the furthest thing possible from ayu.

See it this way, when ayaka first came out with her million-selling debut album, everyone was talking about her being the next J-Pop Queen. It's the same thing, but why wasn't there this big hoo-ha with ayaka then? Nobody sneered at ayaka and declared that she didn't deserve her fame and success the way everyone's doing with Gaga now.

Yes, I may have made a few hurtful assumptions, I'm sorry for that. But do think a little before using words like "whor-e" and "gaudy outfits". God forbid, it may be true, but no fan needs to hear his/her idol described as such.

futureLOVE 22nd April 2010 04:24 AM

can we not argue? if you aren't going to criticize decently, then you shouldn't post mean attacks at an artist whom this thread is for her fans to read to see what she's doing.

jimex289 23rd April 2010 04:38 AM

Point taken, Misa-chan. Sorry for the trouble.
