Before it wasn't a big deal for me, but as time goes by (and even of the influence of others), It became so important to me especially if from the Used/pre-owned CDs. But still I have Cds that don't have OBI but I don't have plans on disregarding them.
It's OK if my album don't have OBI (though I'm planning to change them someday) but all of my singles have except for my H ~pink version~. |
I never throw the obi away if I have it, but if a used CD is cheap enough I don't mind buying it without one. Unless the tracklist info is all on the CD... it bugs me that my used Fly high and kanariya singles didn't have the sticker-obi-thingy cuz I have to go online to see what the tracklist is. And Far away's insert is nigh unreadable due to the white font, so I hold on to the obi with black, readable text.

Yes, but I have absolutely no idea why.

Oh yeah. I started keeping them back when I didn't know what they were! :laugh
But I still have all of them expect for a couple of albums. |
For some reason, I really like to have them. To me, the album seems incomplete without it...like it's missing an accessory. If I can keep the OBI or get a used cd with it, I always jump the chance :yes.

In the general sense, they're really not that important. You have some colorful ones that make a CD look cooler then you have some really plain ones that don't really add anything to it. I still like to have them anyway, like others said, they come with CD so it's a part of it and it feels incomplete not to have it. It's like buying a CD without the casing or with a missing booklet... it just doesn't feel like you have the 'whole thing' ya know? I can do without it I guess but I still like to buy albums/singles with the obi if I can. :yes

I keep my OBIs too
