well, as someone else said...being like an 'ayu clone' has been a trend in japan for a really long time. ayu is often viewed as being the main contributor to the start of gyaru fashion.

It was first published in the very early 1990s. It also closed down around the late 90s and then started publishing again in 2000 or something like that. Not 100% sure on the exact years, but around those times.
