Yup. She's getting way too much attention over being crap imo.

xLuna&1LOVE 24th March 2011 01:52 AM

Okay, the song is awful (and still, wtf #39 itunes? Who the hell, besides primary-school kids who want 'cool' songs on their phones, is downlading it) there's at least some things I like about this person, Rebecca Black.

That's she is taking the critism and doesn't let herself down after such horrible reactions of people all over the world. It must be freakin hard for someone to be rememberd like this: the teen with the awful, monotone-voiced, song. Anyway, she is handling it very well for a teenager. I respect her in that. The song was just an epic fail, but everybody will overcome that.

Maybe she will surprise us with a collaboration with Justin Bieber. Same style.

ugh... The lyrics are so inane and her voice annoys the heck outta me... But here, maybe i can make it better for some of you...

Lmao that was funny.

I would totally support that girl in the gif, if she was singer and the record company made her wear that mustache all day everyday and she had to play that accordion while wearing the mustache.

According to other articles, Simon Cowell finds the song "genius" and Lady Gaga also came to her defense as well.

I like the song because it is extremely catchy—there aren't many recent songs that have that "instant recognition power," you know: sing a couple words and it's in everyone's heads. It could have been Simon who said it, but what makes her so popular is people have an opinion of her; bad or good, irritated or not irritated, people have talked about her with an opinion, and that's what makes someone spread like wildfire (not to mention the way we can go viral on the internet now). Because there's an opinion and because there's so many people talking about her, people who don't know her will be more inclined to find out who she is.

And yes, I remember watching that Good Morning America video after another article mentioned it, and she sounds pretty good despite the song's vocals. A little nasal (but much less nasal than me—hahaha!), but she definitely has a voice to work with.

Maybe these Justin Bieber comparisons won't be too far off if she can get another "hit"...

Yea, real genius to have someone else write lyrics for you, sing them terribly and then auto tune it so it sounds even worse.
This song is a joke and people obviously are buying into it, so she will end up popular because of it. You don't even have to have any real talent to be famous these days.

asmAyumi1992 30th March 2011 10:27 AM

I don't hate her at least. But her friends are more annoying than herself :laugh

SURREAL__RAINBOW 30th March 2011 11:36 AM

I want her album! :cry

Oh, new article.

Rebecca Black's Not To Blame: Meet The Man Who Wrote “Friday”
Posted Wed Mar 30, 2011 3:54pm PDT by Tiffany Lee in Stop The Presses!

Rebecca Black's omnipresent "Friday" has been dubbed "The Worst Song Ever" by many and is officially the most "disliked" video on YouTube. (With 1.2 million "dislikes," it beats Justin Bieber's "Baby" by almost 80,000.) But all this isn't stopping the man behind the song from speaking out. You see, little 13-year-old Rebecca actually had very little to do with the notorious song or video.

Patrice Wilson, the founder of Ark Music Factory and seemingly random rapper in Rebecca's video, is taking responsibility for this dubious phenomenon in a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times. While previously depicted as being "a kind of Suge Knight of the preteen schoolyard" and accused of using young girls' dreams for his own financial advantage, in the L.A. Times article he's described as a "sad-eyed babyface" and "well-mannered, well-traveled, and well-educated."

Wait... you mean an adult wrote the lyrics for this song? And he's well-mannered, well-traveled, and well-educated? Yes my friends, a man that charges delusional children 2-4 k to write an awful song and shoot an equally bad video is well-meaning. And his deep and thoughtful lyrics are a great indication of this education and culture.

The fact that either of these people have an influential position in music business is a damn shame. They have no kind of taste in music if they think this song is good.

Spoiler:
Not to call you out or be mean or anything but didn't you used to really like Kesha?

When I first heard that song I was like "What is this trash?" Seems today to be famous all you need to do is either be 11 years old or act like a crack*****, put a song on youtube, and wait for the millions to start coming in.

xLitax 1st April 2011 12:38 AM

I love how so many people are changing their tune about the song itself, just because they feel sorry for her.

And like I would give a rat's ass what Simon Cowell thinks. If he truly likes the song, it is sad that he was a judge on a show for singing.

And the national anthem was average at best. Whatever though. She's thirteen. Her voice hasn't even matured so maybe she will get better.

Since when has famous meant being good in whatever the occupation is? Famous means being well known or popular, it's not indicative of any talent.
