I don't think she has a contract with Gainax. In Sakura Nagashi's official website it's said that the staff of the new Eva movie begged Hikki to make a new song and that she did it because she's a fan os the franchise. I don't think she would let her staff state that they begged if it wasn't true :)

Yeah, both mika and hikki's new songs are surprises for me. I liked mika's previous single but somehow the song was haunted by zombies and that kinda lowered my interest. Hatsukoi is much more beautiful tho :). Last nite I only repeated Hatsukoi and Sakura Nagashi :D.

I wasn't expecting a lot after the comments. Some people were saying she has had better, it wasn't her best composition, boring, etc...

The OMGAWD commentes I expected were coming from sheer excitement rather than feelings regarding the actual product. But, I feel like the song is stunning.

To me it's nothing really special until the drums come in and everything picks up and by then i'm just like "PRAISE THE LORD JESUS THIS IS BOOTYFULL

I like the entire thing but I actually think I prefer the calmness of everything before the drums. It's so soothing - I think the composition on the piano work is just mind-blowingly beautiful.

I actually really really love the calm part as well. I thought it was going to be all like that, and I was going to love it just like that. But then it just so gradually added.

I love songs that build like that. A certain someone used to have songs like that :bsigh

Surprising news because I was just talking to a friend last night about how Hikki has disappeared from the scene and then I find this the next morning lol.

Her voice is such a trademark that I feel nostalgic just from listening to it. Beautiful song.

I listened to the new song and I really love it. It's quickly becoming one of my favourite Japanese songs released this year (which, there weren't many of, really).

I suppose I'm speaking blasphemy here. And typically I don't have much negative to say about her Deep River to present music

But I'm not really feeling this song but I'm not really disappointed cuz it's been a while anyway and she's produced enough perfect music. I think the arrangement is pretty good and very beautiful. But parts of the composition, really just the "everybody finds love" parts aren't really nice to me. I guess it's a good song, but idk if I'll ever actively listen to it again besides giving it a second and third chance lol

I don't really like that part either, the everybody finds love part.
